Great intro, really neat idea to have a newscast talking about the player like that. Felt a bit tight having the rocks spawn so close to my head.

Really creative use of the introduction and quit; really unusual to see those elements being so well fleshed out in a jam.

I do have to say the intro video did run a little laggy for me with the audio stuttering a LOT.

Nice job overall :)

This was a lot of fun! Both environments were really well done and I was pretty impressed with the TV and in-game trailer! I loved the physics-based gameplay and had too much fun knocking planets into each and dodging bullets! Also, fun exit concept!

If you find some time this weekend, please check out our game “Starship Minis” and leave a comment to let us know what you think! https://itch.io/jam/vr-jam-2021/rate/1145490

Thanks and congrats on completing the jam!!

Absolutely loved the intro! as others mentioned I spent some time waiting for planets to spawn... but had a lot of fun anyway :) for some reason I couldn't exit the game by the in-game option :/ tested with my HTC vive (maybe its my busted controllers tho) Overall great job!! :)

Developer

It could because the vive controllers uses different input names. I'll try to get an updated version in asap

Developer

@pirijuamps Hey, I updated the build. May you check again if it works? It's the Update 1.1 Vive Fix

Submitted

Just tried it, the snap turn works just fine and also when I use the touchpads I can see my thumbs moving so that's also registered, however for some reason clicking on both of them at the same time doesn't seem to do anything yet :(  If anyone else tries this game with an HTC Vive too, please update this thread and let us know if this is just me!

Developer

Seems like some weird issue with Unity's new input system :( There are like 5 different ThumbstickPressed and TouchpadClicked in there

The intro was quite nice given the time frame. Planet spawn didn't quite match how often I needed them. I think you did a great job for the weekend!

Developer

Thanks! I actually tried to implement a Director system where it would spawn certain planets based on how dire the situation is. But there were too many bugs so I just switch to a controlled random spawn system instead :P

Love this as an arcade game really old timy and fun. Made me think of space invaders in a way

Developer

Thanks! That's kinda the theme I was going for with the TV and stuff. The Intro was rushed so it feels quite out of place XD

Developer

Make sure to use the in-game quit option for a nice surprise!

I loved the intro, and news report! I certainly needed a lot of planets to destroy all of those annoying ships. :P

Developer

Thanks! The planets and ships spawns are random, so sometimes it could be a little annoying. When playing have you encountered  any bugs? I think I solved most of them. Are there any ships that you can't reach or is pointing in the wrong direction?
