Only got a high score of 60 playing with one hand. Game ran well on my phone.
That's impressive given how difficult the controls are, nice!
Lots of polish, and everything works really well - good job!
It's a little bit simple, but because of that there are no major bugs and you had time to polish.
I personally didn't particularly find it very fun, and the controls were awkward, but I think that could be improved if you had more time!
Thanks for the kind words, it indeed lack at least a few more days worth of work, but I couldn't start on time unfortunately.
Pretty simple, a bit akward to work woth when only one buttons work at a time, i havent tried out the drag control method yet..
great job!
Yeah, controls suck, I know, that's the biggest issue of this entry :)
I thought you only hosted game jams, not participated in them :D
I played the game on mobile, and it runs very well. It has juice and nice animations. I like how «hatrick» is the name of the game, it’s a fun interpretation of the theme. The game itself is fun, though as you mention, the controls are a bit difficult. I did play the gane many times, because I wanted to get a better score, so the game loop and positive feedback loop is a solid foundation. I was actually able to catch 3 hats in one jump. It would feel extra rewarding if I got more points for a combo!
I think it could be fun to experiment with the idea to drag the finger to determine how high he jumps. The gameplay will probably be very different from what you have, but it’s just a thought. Good job on the entry!
Hah, yeah, that's what I do in the past years, but I did participate in many jams years ago and wanted to get back to this a bit!
Thanks for all the feedback, totally agree. Combo was on the TODO list, even started working on it, but ultimately didn't manage to find the time. Drag and release as an extra option on top of (fixed) regular controls, when the time slows down, sounds like something I'll definitely try to implement to see how it works. Thanks!
