The game dont have too much to do. Just travel through ages and wait the finish line appear. As this is just a rough concept you may improve later, for now is a good idea making this game more playable, like, if its an exploration game let players explore, not wait for time warpers to click buttons. There should have some way players can notice if they are getting closer or not to the finish line, i passed even more than 5m waiting it appear and nothing lol. There could have more race elements here too. At least it follows the theme well :)
Thank you for trying the game. Appreciate the suggestions. My initial idea for this was a Mario Kart-style racing game where there were advantages to switching timelines, I'm still trying to figure out how to make that work as I'm not sure if it should be like a power-up or just a portal you drive into. The lack of racing elements is also the fact that I don't know how to do the AI yet for it. However, if I made the level design easier, having only a few possible switching points, that would also simplify designing the AI "brain" to compete with the player. I like your exploration idea though too. Maybe a race to collect items scattered in different timelines and see how quick you can complete it by jumping around and using the various road networks that exist in different times.
Really great concept, but I had no idea where the exit was, so I didn't know how to judge which time period was the better one to jump to. I felt like I was aimlessly wandering, and when I did get to the end, it was more like "... what? I won?" Otherwise it felt really slow, and if It could be sped up a bit, It would be more enjoyable. I would probably play this again after you updated it a bit to see what you do with the idea.
Thank you for the comments. Yeah, I agree with you about the slowness. I tried making the vehicle move faster, but because I wanted to create a difference in the time periods, I had to speed up all three versions and the method I used made the future vehicle slide off the road on turns. (You can still see some of this when the future car turns a corner.) However, that issue should be solved once I implement the player actually driving as opposed to what I thought would be a simpler endless runner style. Regarding the level design, still working on that so sorry if you were confused. With the level here, I'm not sure how to show which option is actually better. However, I'm wondering if I created dead ends so you'd HAVE to switch maybe that would work. I'm also thinking I over-did the options so if you have only a couple of choices, it may not be easier to see right away which is better, but wouldn't take too many play throughs to test all options. That way, it would also be easier for me to add a mini-map or a "slider" to show how far into the course you are (similar to what Mario Kart has). Thanks again for trying it!
