Advanced

Please explain why your team qualifies for the category you chose.
I start working on games 4 years ago and uploaded 6 jam entries in itch

How does your game relate to the theme?
You have a special charm double jump, that is used to traverse and to charm npc so you get the permission to go through doors...

Specify any and all pre-made assets in your submission.
No premade assets used, everything was created in this jam. Except some old sound effects, most of them are from here: https://pixabay.com/sound-effects/search/fast/ or youtube. Less than half of the dialogue system is some old code also.

Feedback?

I would like feedback and will reach out to review it after the jam.

Hello. I am here because I have things to say about your game.

1. Thank you for starting left. I wanted to go left.

2. WHY DON'T I WANT THE DOUBLE JUMP. >:( I DEF DO.

3. Are all the people saying the same thing?

4. Nice sfx.

5. I'd rate the theme 7/10 since doesn't seem incorporated since charming people takes no effort and isn't a mechanic it's just jumping near them IDK.

6. It's possible to get stuck on walls simply by walking into them.

7. I enjoy the bouncy double jump mechanic.

8. Ah so I beat the game... That's at least more than I can say for my own game...

9. Frankly, delicious character design. I did notice that some of the art doesn't line up, because of line density or something.

Developer

Thank you for the very helpful feedback!!
The theme was too overly ambitious and couldn't add the charming mechanic through dialogue .So this is what I was stuck with, now instead of the NPCs all having their unique and complex dialogue, they are nothing but keys to open doors, welp too bad didn't get enough time.

Also you don't want the double jump for the sake of the tutorial lmao.

LOVELY GAME! I loved the story element, the sfx are very catchy, the movement is so fluid I see it in a metroidvania, the difficulty can be better, but for 2-3 days, this is veeeery impressive. Now onto the numbers:

Art: 8/10. Nice with no gimmicks. Perfect for a short amount of time!

Sfx: 10/10. Love it!

Implementation (bugs n stuff) 9/10. Almost no bugs whatsoever!

Story: 11/10 You made this in 30 mins??????

I see you developing a great game in the future. Keeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep it up!

Developer

Thank you again for your sweet words!

The color pallete of the game is awesome! Kinda reminds me of Celeste gameplay and i really enjoyed that game too :p, great work!

Developer

Thanks for the comment, and yes the Celeste inspiration is quite obvious.

I really loved your art and dialogue though, I think it's easy to make dialogue dry and uninteresting but you managed to add humor and character in spades with the dialogue, so well done on that front! I also really like the character designs of the main character and Meka too.

Ah ah, I love this kind of humor and 4th wall breaking. And your animation skills and chara design really seems beyond god itself. And even if I absolutely HATED Celeste (it gives more PTSD than super meat boy) I must admit I had fun here, apart for 2 tricky jump moment and some few unfair camera placement.

Let me guess the real final boss is Meka but you don't have time to finish the game ? Never mind the duck rocks !

Ps: I never see a wall jump like that anywhere, that's more clever than smashing your controller like a brute.

Long time no see! Glad that you are still around making games. Thanks for the feedback and the very kind words, it motivates me a lot.

The whole gameplay is sooo satisfying >_< I love the sound effects, it was super fun to walk around and overcome the challenges. Even though I'm not a fan of platformers, I had a lot of fun playing this!!! And it's very funny as well, amazing job :-]

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, the platforming was a bit hard on play testing. So it's good that you managed to enjoy it.

Developer

Thanks for playing!  I am very glad that you got to the end.
