Thank you for the feedback! I do agree with all the points to be honest, replayed the game a couple of times after the jam ended and I feel like the push and pull mechanic wasn't properly fleshed out and made as useful as it could, also, as mentioned, pretty buggy, but I think these could be ironed out with time. It's cool that you liked the visuals of the game and the sword mechanic! Most of the time of the jam was used in that

The final boss is also kind of buggy to be honest, I would make the detection box bigger, the boss smaller, and probably change a few things about his behaviour if I were to update the game, but I'm glad you liked it :D

Not sure if we are going to work on this particular game again? But I do hope some of it's DNA is used in our next games, I think I learned a lot

-Thomas

Thank you!! :)

Thank you! I do think the game needed some days in the oven and a little more polish, but I'm glad you liked the game and I appreciate the feedback :)

Finished all the difficulties, pretty fun! In this case the 64x64 resolution doesn't even feel like a limitation.

I can't even think of something to give feedback about, perhaps making the music loop a bit longer? But the game is already pretty solid

-Thomas

No problem! Just wanted to give some feedback.

I think my original comment sounds a bit confusing, re-reading it now, but what I meant with the higher window is the scaling itself of the pixel art, like, usually in a game engine there's 2 ways to render pixel art, the literal resolution (64x64 in this case) scaled many times, or scaling at a higher resolution, which doesn't have the chunky pixels, that's what I meant, like, when you rotate the arm of the character, it renders the sprite without losing any detail.

Hoping to see how your next projects will progress, thank you for responding!

Very cute and creative! Surprisingly readable considering the 64x64 limitation. Got 30 bits :)

Hoping to see more stuff in that style!

-Thomas

Very cute game! Spend more time than I expected. As mentioned by other people, I do feel like it needed more stuff integrated into the game loop to make it a better game (more fish, more upgrades valiable, less grindy), but I do get that the jam time usually limits us. Excited to see a full (or fuller) version at some point :)

Yeah I do agree, I think that would make the game overall more fun. After the jam I thought about the idea a little more and I think making the objects behave more like something you can push and then pull would probably have worked better (kind of like the game Control in a sense), adding that on top of the sword working as a magnet would definitely make the game better.

Thank you for the feedback!

-Thomas

Thank you for the feedback!! I do agree about the controls, lol, the physics of the game are also kind of broken (I could have messed it up at some point but I didn't have much time to fix it), I'm glad you enjoyed the game :)

What would you change about the weapons and objects to make the game more fun/responsive?

-Thomas

Fun little game, didn't manage to finish all 4 in 60 seconds but I had a good time in these few minutes, only suggestion I could have would be changing the sfx to make things more snappy, but it's solid work!

-Thomas

The idea is very solid, in my opinion. I do think the game needed some time in the oven, tho. Found a bug where my character stands still and can't move, the gear spawning is very confusing. The game camera moves too much, which made me feel a headache in a few minutes, I would recommend making a threshold to move the camera only if the player leaves the central area, or maybe a fixed camera. In games with higher resolutions and slower cameras, it works fine, but in this specific situation it really feels clumky.

Screenshake would also help to make the game feel more satisfying, and more game juice would definitely benefit the experience. Changing the gun SFX and adding more particles that could slow down or accelerate to sell the ffect of hitting something would (in my opinion) greatly benefit the game. Also, currently, the game is at 64x64 but it renders at a higher resolution, which I wouldn't really comment on any other jam but in the LOWREZJAM it kind of loses the point of the res being the limiting factor.

I hope I'm not coming as too harsh here, because you made the game in 72 hours, and the 64x64 limitation is REALLY hard, I banged my head against the wall to figure out some simple stuff, like how I would make my camera (and I still think there's so much I could improve in my own project), but I do hope you consider some of the points I'm making for your next projects, good luck!!

-Thomas

Solid mechanics and pretty fun, I do think the graphics could be a little more clear tho, maybe adding a black outline to all the text would help, and I would push the blue BG towards to a darker gray.

Overall, I liked it :)

-Thomas

Thanks, we spent a good amount of time thinking of a cool concept :)

Thanks for playing our game! I'm happy you had fun, even though it is a very short game :>

We have a MACHINE called Thom, this cover is his work! Tnx for playing :)

Our artists worked hard, thanks :D

Thanks for your honest feedback, it helped us improve the game even after some time ^^

We have fixed most of the issues you mentioned. I hope that if you play again, it will be more fun!

Thank you so much!

You must have at least the two highlighted cards to start the game. I hope this helps you!

You must buy at least the two highlighted cards at the shop to start the game

This is strange... Nobody else experienced that playing our game... What do you mean by that? Could you explain a little more so we can try helping you?

The first boss is definitely my favorite, I struggled a lot to get past it. After obtaining the life recovery upgrade, I personally think it became too easy, but I had a lot of fun!

I loved the way you start the game, very creative! The boss battles are also a lot of fun, and this blood system is very satisfying ^^

Thank you for you feedback, it really means a lot for us! Our game went a little too hard for most players, as we didn't have time to polish enough nor test the game to balance the difficult. Our artists appreciate your compliments <3

Very cute game, i spent a good amount of time just having fun drawing landscapes ^^

:D We appreciate the video! (honestly helps the game reach more people. ) Ty for playing!

I was genuinely surprised by how beautiful the character art is, the game is simple but intuitive and very, very well-made. Loved it!

After many attempts, i managed to survive for 4 minutes!!!

The game is extremely fun and original, i've played many games from the jam and i haven't found anything even remotely similar. Great game! ^^

I really liked the idea, it was interesting how you adapted the mechanics of Undertale to fit into the charm theme!

For those reading the comments, don't freeze the stone on the wall like i did :<

Best game of the jam so far, I've really enjoyed playing it along with a friend. We couldn't get pass level 6 due to the difficult, though.. Loved it!

I do think the game has great potential. I got the two charms, but didn't figured out why I would use the magma one. You can greatly expand the idea of charms unlocking mechanics, as the first one does, and then unlocking new areas on the map. I'd love to see a finished version on the future!

I've loved your game, it has simple mechanics, but awesome puzzles! I would, therefore, like a marker somewhere to remember what each character do.

I've loved the idea of your game! It has great potential!

A really good game to the time limit of the jam. Great interpretation of the theme, too.

Loved you game! I've just finished it and am amazed by how well you have done it with such a short time limit. Very well done!

We appreciate your feedback, ty for playing! <3

Probably the game i had the most fun in the gamejam yet, its extremely polished and the game feels a lot more intense when the "worm" gets bigger than like 6k, overall the best one ive seen in the gamejam so far, congrats. :)

The color pallete of the game is awesome! Kinda reminds me of Celeste gameplay and i really enjoyed that game too :p, great work!

Very nice combination of puzzles, action and quick-thinking, cool game :)
