Nice little game! I included it in my Wowie Jam 2.0 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)
A very fun game! This deserves more ratings XD It feels so good to walk around for some reason and the visual is SUPER GOOD, Pleasing to look at. Also it would be nice if u could run and the animation doesn't change when jump so it just continues the walk animation. Other than that, sick game, LOVE IT!
I really liked the level and puzzles. A suggestion: In the future try Text Mesh Pro. Good job! I also made a third person game, similar to this if you'd like to check it out: https://itch.io/jam/wowie-jam-2/rate/552681. Enjoy!
It took me way too much to realize how to open doors with a keyboard... Other than that the game itself was good but it felt too easy to play, maybe add more minigames.
Really nice little glitchy exploration game!
Loved the bug mechanics, and how the bug bugs stuff.
it was anoying that the controls always showed for a controller rather than for a mouse + keyboard. Also took me a while to realize what petting would do.
I did manage to get all 10 coins though :)
Yes, I didn’t get around to making code to update the UI controls based on what input types you were using.
Glad you figured out all the puzzles!
Your game gives of a really nice atmosphear.
The visual and music are on a quite a good level for a jam.
As for some feedback:
- The mini challenges were fun and I'd like to see some for the other cois aswell.
- I think turning the character with the camera/ mouse would make the game feal more intuitive and easier to play.
- Some times I felt a hard to aim your pet companion. Maybe there could a something like a small cross indicating its direction.
- It just might be because my keyboard is german (mainly difference Y and Z change), but the keys in the game were mixed up (Y became R for some reason).
I hope you had a great jam and I'd like to see more.
i want a little glitchy spirit friend to follow me around everywhere i go ... :') i love this game, and i really hope you continue to work on it.
Thank you for the feedback. I have a larger project that something related to this companion AI is going to be part of.
oh good, that makes me glad to hear. little glitch friend deserves it.
Interesting game!
Very fun game, loved the SFX and the overall WTF atmostphere xD
could you expound on this “overall WTF atmostphere”? not sure exactly what this means in context of the game.
Ahah that's just my reactions playing the game, the bee buzzing right away, the sound of the buttons, the golemish character .. x)
ok… thanks for the follow up.
There is way to play this without a controller?? Because i don't own one and the game seems interesting to play...
Yes, the keyboard/Mouse controls are listed on the game page. WASD, R, Space, Mouse, Left mouse button.
Thanks a lot!! I 'll immediately start playing the game and tell you what I think =)
It's a nice game, as expected, maybe a little too short (but tis is a game jam, after all), the mosquito companion (only to me it looked like a mosquito) is really cool and usefull and the disappearing coins they always give you something to do (in the end I figured out how to take them)...
Thank you for the feedback. Glad you enjoyed it.
This game is amazing as in the visual & musical quality, however I do wish that there was support for keyboard for those that don't have a controller and that there are sensitivity mechanics which honestly ruined the game for me a bit. With a bit of tweaking this could be a really good game!
Thanks for the play. Sorry about the on stream controller sensitivity issue. The game does have keyboard & mouse controls, I just didn’t get the UI to auto update between them and KB/Mouse was only on the game page.
I like the shoulder companion mechanics. Would love to see that pushed further. Would be interesting to see it integrated into a larger project. The graphics were simple but appealing. The end screen fits the jam well.
Thanks. My current plans is to expand on it some and bring it into my larger project.
For some reason made me think of those old Action 3d platformers like Spyro or Crash.
Simple and could be a great base for a game aimed at a young audience.
Pretty fun, felt like a series of challenges! The world felt nice and overall very simple and enjoyable! However, I was able to glitch out of bounds and no way back. And the last coin (that disappears if u go close) I had no idea how to do it, but apart from that its pretty cool!
that last coin is collectable… the trick is figuring out why it disappears when you go close. There are actually 2 coins with similar but different behavior.. which ever one you had issues with, and one other. Sounds like you solved the other one.
Sorry to hear about glitching out of bounds. Apparently there is still at least one wall clip glitch still in the controller.
Nice one! :)
relaxing and cute little game with nice low poly assets.
I would suggest you to make the fog dark blue instead of grey so it looks more like atmospheric perspective.
