Alright, let's tear into your game. Oh I mean, give you some feedback ;-). The visuals and music are great, so it's really just a matter of fixing the bugs (unless they were intentional of course).
The first thing I noticed was that the text on buttons are missing (I reloaded several times); normal text seems to be fine. After that I found out that spike platforms can kill you, when you hit them from the bottom (so where there is just normal rock). This is mainly an issue due to the poor platform placement; I often hit platforms above when jumping in level 1 (not an issue in other levels). In level 2 enemies seem to take multiple hit to kill, but there is no feedback when I hit them.
Then we come to level 3, oh yeah. I jumped over the vases at the start and the character model disappeared (probably got stuck somewhere), but the camera was looking at the place where the model should be. This was when the little restart button in the top right was pretty useful. Upon reloading the big enemy was already at the staircase and I could kill him in just a couple of hits. When I got to the throne two button appeared (without text). I clicked the top one and my browser gave me an error message; the game had crashed.
beautiful graphics and sounds. controls were a lil laggy for me (not sure if this is just my comp having had enough) but it looks and feels very smooth. well done!
Cool graphics and animations! You probably overshooted the game for the jam. There is a noticable attack animation lag. You can get killed by the bottom of the spike floating groud, which isn't cool. Even though you've almost run out of time, you made a good game!
Good game :D but it needs a volume slider :D
if you would like to test my game:
There's a few issues with physics and collisions that diminishes the fun, but the game feels and looks great overall.
(I would suggest Fun first, Topic second. Or I would have looked for other ways to implement glitchy-ness that would have a lesser impact on enjoyment. And the problem is not necessarily the physics itself, it's that the physics makes the game a bit too hard and unfair. Just something to note for your next games.)
Also, I appreciate that you added sound effects/audio feedback, something a lot of games neglected.
What a beautiful game! I'm most impressed with how well platforming feels, it felt very smooth and when I thought "Oh I'll definitely miss that jump" I actually made it, so the game makes you feel great while playing. Pretty neat!
Agree with others that the controls are frustrating and not sure if that was really the intent (although it was the theme of the jam). Was the boss supposed to just walk past me? Otherwise, really like the visuals, the smooth level transitions and the voice effects. The drinking sound when you go back to the tent is a funny detail! Thanks for the experience and keep it up :)
Visually, it's possibly the most pleasing game I've played so far. The buggy character controller is.. argh, I don't know, it isn't my cup of tea, I get frustrated with it too fast! :D If anything in the game is bugged (intentionally or not), I always hope it isn't the main mechanic/controls. It could be THE next rage game! :)
I was fixing the character controller at some point but ended up with a regular game, loosing the theme, so I rolled back to the buggy one ^^"
The plateform bit can be really hard because they have random movement attribution at start, so for a play it could be harder than another depending of their moves (thats part of the intentional bugs though but not well balanced)
Nice graphics with neat audio. I like the player model and animation. But...
Sadly the controls are a little clunky, combined with the camera being too high up, so you don't see the platforms. And clunky controls with little landing places are not a great combination.
Would have liked to play it more, but is was so frustrating that I couldn't do what I wanted that I stopped.
Overall, not a bad game, but it needs polishing. For a game jam game, it is intriguing. :)
I liked the game's graphics and audio. It reminded me of games like Aladdin and Age of Mythology. And that sound when the player falls off or collides with an obstacle is freaking hilarious. Overall I enjoyed the fun ragdoll physics and the atmosphere of the game. Though attacking enemies was kinda buggy, as some of em didn't registered the hit.
Overall, a great funny jam entry. I loved the atmosphere of the game!
