It was a pretty fun experience. you nailed the game feel, the shooting felt really good. I was confused about the movement but after reading ( in the game's page ) that you're actually moving the whole level and not the player, it made sense.
The particle effects, hit feedback, sounds and camera shake made the experience a whole lot better.
As others have mentioned there was no end goal to the game, there was nothing to keep me playing it. A score system, just a simple enemy kill counter will make the player keep playing.
But for your first game jam game, this was a solid entry. Good Job 😄.
Thank you for your feedback. In general all of the comments under the game have been very motivating and helpful.
It's really great to see that people enjoy the game and the ideas people left me to improve are even better.
Having something the player can work towards is something that completely flew over my head when making the game and I will definitely give it much more thought in future projects
I like the movement mechanics and the overall physics of the game, they feel nice. Getting pushed back by your own bullets is nice and pushing back enemies feels good too. Interaction with enemies felt nice in general. Could have been a bit harder imo, with more enemies spawning over time. I also believe any game with an endless mode needs a score system of some kind, maybe show how many kills you got or how long you survived. Pretty good game overall.
This game is messing with my head so badly, i mean only reversed controls wouldn`t be a problem but adding physics!(don`t get me wrong it adds to the fun) and the addition to make enemy spawn further from you is a great detail! You should add scoring system and difficulty curve , it gets a little easy when you understand the controls.
First of all, it's great that you completed the game to the end, keep it up! I found it funny how the game is controlled. But to be honest, the controls are counterintuitive and repulsive. Perhaps it was worth adding something like a desch or a jump?
It was a cool concept, but I feel like the game lacked alot. The enemies did only spawn in the corners you were not in and it felt really dull after 30 seconds of playing it considering there was no difficulty or an end goal. + Maybe could have experiment with it more by maybe adding obstacles that are un-killable to the player to maybe add variety. This idea does have potential and overall its a pretty cool one!
Good game. Simplistic but fun to play. i really liked the movement mechanic.
good job you did there.
Whoa! Such a fun concept! I love it! Nice one :)
Really awesome concept! I havent participated in the jam and therefore cant rate, but I hope I cna still provide some helpful feedback.
There just a bit of a balancing issue;
-Red enemies always spawn in one of the corners you're not in, this means you can camp in the corner up until infinity.
-There is no difficulty curve. So once you have mastered the game, the is no going further
Of course there also the missing high score. If you're using unity, you could use playerprefs for this (if you have never heard of that definitly check it out, its super easy)
But now, think about this; what if you kill the enemies, not by shooting them, but by moving them into a obstacle. This could make for some waaay more interesting gameplay. Maybe you could still shoot them, but only for knockback.
Thank you very much for the great feedback. I do want to make some improvements and changes to the game if I have the time.
If I do so I will definitely do something to make camping less effective. Either by spawning enemies in your corner of the arena or by rewarding an aggressive play style in some way.
Difficulty is also something I want to work on. I might increase the enemy spawn rate, make the enemies more dangerous, add some new Enemies, and or decrease the spawn rate of the health pickups over time to make the game more challenging.
A scoring system would definitely be a good addition and should be very easy to implement.
Moving enemies into obstacles sounds really interesting. definitely something I want to try. could be it's own game mode
That's was very fun, i liked the "bugged" movement
I love it when the enemies get bounced realy far.
Fun game!
You can make it really easy by just camping in a corner though...
It needs a score mechanic, otherwise you don't really have an incentive to play.
Thanks for playing. I want to keep working on the game and I will try to make camping less effective. A scoring system sounds like a great addition too.
This one is a lot of fun. I like how simple it is.
Cool to hear that. Glad you enjoyed it. I remember your game being a lot of fun as well
Great game so far. Simple and trippy love it.
Buggy Controls were a good Idea! Check out my game if you get the chance I mean you are a Caterpillar with a handgun what's not to like!?!
Thanks for the feedback. I just tried your game, I mean a caterpillar with a gun, how could anyone resist that. it was really fun :)
Thank You!!
I enjoyed it (:)
I thought that the buggy controls was a great way to fit the theme for your game! I also really liked the graphics!
A buggy little shooter :-) I enyoid for a while
Cool little experiecne, keep making games my guy! you used such a small amount of time to make this simple game, imagine what you could do with more time and more planning!
Thanks man. This was my first game jam ever and I had a ton of fun making this game and I also feel I learned a lot from this experience. I'm currently thinking about expanding this game or at least taking some aspects of it and turning it into a bigger project.
I recommend working on this project for like another 3 days or another week and then move on! IMO that's how you'll learn the best
Simple but fun :)
its simple and fun, and the movement is a bit weird but i thinks thats what makes it interesting. i like it. you should work on this idea more and add more features like more enemies and player bullet effects etc.
nice game. i had fun playing it.
appreciate the feedback. I am planning on improving and expanding the game. As you said the movement a bit weird which was kind of the point for the jam but I think if I keep working on the game (which I am planning to do) I'll adjust it quite a bit and I might remove some of the more gimmicky features
well you are the dev of the game. so you know better. so give it your best and make it as good as you can. and have fun while you do it.
check out my game. tell me what you think about it.
