some great buggy fun! Awesome job!!
cool game and mechanics! had a lot of fun just staying in the corner and shooting (movement controls were a bit too hard for me) but i really enjoy the creative take on an old/known style! one thing that really stood out was the sonic experience. it was pretty sparse but after some gametime i felt like i was making some dank tofi techno tunes? idk but loved it
What a fun way to mess up the controls :D
I managed to find an exploit where all you have to press is w and d and you'll always be in the bottom right corner while enemies will only spawn in the other corners and sort of bunch up on the left side of the screen with no way to attack me. If that exploit was fixed I'd love to have some kind of scoring system to see how well I did :)
Game is really good and fun and buggy. There is still one big problem. Score. Pls make me score so i can play this more. Now its just disappointing
Nice game. Reminds me of a similar color pallete of my game. We even explained in both of our games that the dev screwed up by attaching scripts to the wrong object.
The game's visuals were simplistic yet popping. A simplistic game done right with particle fx and post processing glowing fx. Something that I completely forgot in my game. And the sfx.
One thing I will say is that I feel like the bug hurting the player ruined the game a bit. And also the controls are switched. Going right is a and going left is d? I have to get close to the enemy object to try to get the yellow health points but its hard, because the yellow health point is all the way at the left and enemies land on the left a lot. And also as soon as I finnally reach the point and I used my gun I'm pushed all the way back to the right of the level. I even stop using my gun and try to press to move forward but I can't.
Still, very fun game! :)
Nice! Maybe add a score board or more enemies :D
Rocket launch was very satisfying and the game has a good feeling. I would add a score or at least a challenge. Moreover putting your self in the bottom right corner is enough to make it through the entire game. Anyway, it was fun to play so well done!
Awesome use of the topic for sure! I was simple but still had some cool mechanics like moving with the gun and moving the whole level, nice particles too. Great job submitting a game to the jam. Pls check out mine if you have time.
I love how the movement is based on shooting. Some times I would get stuck in the corner of screen, but luckily I was able to free myself. The shooting sound is well made and the simplicity of the game is charming. A nice entry, well done!
Nice game! The gameplay is really good. The feedback when you are hit an enemy is very good! Congratulations on your first jam!
Very good game! I love the effect when you kill enemy.
Sound and simplicity, Perfect; but I rather like it to have a score or atleast finish somewhere, I was sitting on the button right of screen and just playing for ever :)
thanks a lot for playing my game. having something for the player to work towards is unfortunately something I did not think about when I made this game. I would absolutely agree, the game would definitely benefit from a scoring system or some other type of goal
Really fun concept, it really could do with more feedback for when health is lost, but otherwise a really nice game!
Very awesome gameplay and tons of fun, amazing use of feedback elements! Creative. Once I got used to how the level movement worked (quite intuitively) it felt second nature, so well done. Could use a bit more sound elements and better feedback for taking damage.
Feels good to play, but for a very short time - nothing new happened after a minute or two of playing. Sounds are fine and I've noticed you've made a good knockback and some pretty particles.
This game was very fun. You really nailed the shooting feedback in this game. Especially the enemies being puched by your bullets felt great. Also the sprites looked good. Overall a nice game. Well done!
A great example of a simple game but VERY fun, great job!
how have this many people not played this yet? It's awesome.
Thank you for the kind words. It really means a lot to me and I'm very happy to hear that you enjoyed my game
It was a pretty fun experience. you nailed the game feel, the shooting felt really good. I was confused about the movement but after reading ( in the game's page ) that you're actually moving the whole level and not the player, it made sense.
The particle effects, hit feedback, sounds and camera shake made the experience a whole lot better.
As others have mentioned there was no end goal to the game, there was nothing to keep me playing it. A score system, just a simple enemy kill counter will make the player keep playing.
But for your first game jam game, this was a solid entry. Good Job 😄.
Thank you for your feedback. In general all of the comments under the game have been very motivating and helpful.
It's really great to see that people enjoy the game and the ideas people left me to improve are even better.
Having something the player can work towards is something that completely flew over my head when making the game and I will definitely give it much more thought in future projects
I like the movement mechanics and the overall physics of the game, they feel nice. Getting pushed back by your own bullets is nice and pushing back enemies feels good too. Interaction with enemies felt nice in general. Could have been a bit harder imo, with more enemies spawning over time. I also believe any game with an endless mode needs a score system of some kind, maybe show how many kills you got or how long you survived. Pretty good game overall.
