Fun little game. I like the art style and think you did a good job for making it in 1 day!
Check out my game if you want :)
Played until I got about 150 score and decided to give up there. The most interesting thing here, I think, is how many "health powerups" there are on the ground after you've killed a bunch of enemies. It becomes kind of interesting to have to path through them while running away from enemies. However, since the map is so big, it's super easy to avoid them even when there are tons. I think the game would be more fun with a smaller map. Initially I thought not being able to kill the health powerups would be better, but it may be an interesting choice to use your ammo on the health powerups to avoid having so many on screen vs using your ammo to kill the enemies and get points. I would occasionally get a graphical glitch where there would be horizontal lines across the screen, but didn't come across any other bugs. Overall, nice job!
This was cool! It's obviously just a gameplay loop with not much variation, so it gets old pretty quickly, but I like the idea. It's cool how even though you can collect the enemies like powerups, you have to be careful not to just run into them since they can drop a powerup that hurts you. Good job!
Very nice game though it's a bit confusing at first with the health damaging me.
The pixel art sprites do look decent, but I think you could have gone for a better color palette. You can find color palettes on lospec or Coolors and many other sites.
Also, some feedback for when hitting enemies and killing them would be a lot better than just making them disappear. Playing any animation is 10 times better than nothing.
To avoid repetitiveness and making it more fun you could maybe put in some powerups or something
Overall a very simple, but fun game when you understand the mechanics.
I thought this was pretty fun! I really appreciated how all the characters were fully animated. It's a touch of detail that is quite nice.
I was a bit confused while playing about why health pickups seemed to be harming me, though. I would hug an enemy and I would sometimes get healed, but picking up health seemed to hurt me. Looking back on it, that may have been what you were going for. Still, making that a bit more clear would have been nice.
Overall, though, nice job!
