This is a pretty interesting take on the topic, and I think the idea of having to balance out a diagram is pretty interesting overall. The graphics are great, and so are the sound effects and music. My only complaint is that the difficulty spike is a bit harsh - you barely get accustomed to the general flow before it descends into QTE segments, essentially. Besides that, brilliant game!

Your game has  an interesting concept - I like it! The art,  transitions and soundFX are also all very good. For the short timeframe we had it is amazingly polished - good job!

Can't be installed via itch.io app :-( There is no installation file available.

Hm, not familiar with the Itch.io app… but I did realize that the executable was not originally tagged as for Windows. Perhaps that fixed it?

Yay! That was it! Thank you for your quick response.

Overall cool concept. The graphics are really good, with nice visual feedbacks, and the sounds are pretty cool too.

However some things are unclear. We didn't see the type of the ingredient until the second playthrough (sugar, fire and mushroom logo on each ingredient). So we didn't understand that each ingredient would bring the pointer more in a certain direction. Also the ingredients placement isn't very intuitive, for example, the mushrooms are at the bottom right of the screen but they bring the arrow at the bottom left. I think it would be easier to understand if the 3 categories were a little bit more separated (visually).

In addition, we jump into the action with too much different dialogs on the screen and no explanation. A beginner player would tend to be lost, it lacks a tutorial of some form.

Also, the AI isn't visible enough, it disappears as fast as it appeared. It would have been better if it stayed here and just threw some ingredients at random points.

Also the fact that it's not in fullscreen can cause some problems: we played it on a TV first and the game window was too big vertically and not enough horizontally.

Overall, for a game jam submission, it's pretty fun, and the player can improve over the games, which makes it replayable over time: I had a score of 11240!

Thanks for the detailed feedback!

Agree that the biggest shortcoming is the lack of a tutorial. We went back and forth on some mechanics up until the last day, and were only able to work for two of the three days, so we just didn’t have enough time to put it in. Instead we just gave the first few customers very long timers and hoped the UI was good enough to orient yourself after a little while.

That’s a good point about the placement of the categories… definitely should have put them in the same positions (left to right) as the triangle! Sometimes the most obvious things only become obvious after the jam has ended.

Sorry about the window size, game jams are not forgiving with time and deadlines and my graphics library is not as trivial to deal with this as Unity, etc.

Thanks for playing!

Really cool game! I loved the fast paced gameplay, took me a while to get how everything works but when i understood the game was super fun! Amazing sound design and visuals too, one thing is I ccouldnt really get how this relates to the theme. Still amazing game though! I could see myself playing rounds of this on the train every morning lol

Thanks for playing! The theme implementation was the robo-chef who throws in an ingredient at the start of each customer’s order. Certainly not a very sophisticated AI, but you do have to collaborate with him.

The artist and sound designer did some great work considering we were only able to work two out of the three days! Glad you enjoyed it.
