I liked it, but the performance dropped to unplayable levels as the hourglass filled. I get why the hourglass filled like that, but it could have been done in a way to prevent the performance from hitting rock bottom on weaker devices. But I get it, game jam time pressure. Still, the first half of gameplay was fun, great job.

Nice job! Love the art and the sand particles were a really nice touch.

I can tell you that you will be a great pixel artist if you continue, this resembles Towerfall which I love. This entry was very theme relevant and the best score was a cool addition. Good work team!

Fun game! It was a little hard to get used to and I was very confused at first, but eventually, I got the hang of it. I liked the music and the character was nice, but the movement was very slippery. Great submission, had a fun time playing it! I streamed it live on Twitch.

The character is cute and the sound effects fit the style. Fast paced and fun gameplay.

A bit slippery and harder to control when there's a lot of stuff on screen.

Good job overall :)

I liked the graphics (albeit kinda "noisy" - falling sand particles on the background were a bit distracting) and sound effects.

The gameplay is hectic, and I like it. The character feels slippery a bit but it seems like a positive contribution to the gameplay.

The only thing missing for me was an in-game explanation about the cracks (I had to read the game page to get that), as stated in another comment. Perhaps a hint above the first crack would help.

Also, a minor nitpick: maybe replacing "Game Over" text with something like "Time Out" would help a bit as I was confused why the game had ended (I thought it was because of me being hit by the rocks, but there's no health bar as I can see).

Great take on the theme and a nice little time killer!

Thanks a lot for the honest feedback! I agree there definitely should have been some sort of indication of how the controls work, since they're really not self-explanatory. We actually did intend do implement that, but during the last hours we were so busy fixing bugs and making sure everything works that we kind of forgot about it. I also really like the idea of replacing the "Game Over" text! Really glad you enjoyed it :)

I like the theme implementation. Repairing the cracks was a cool mechanic of the game. The art style fits so well!

I felt like the controls were not very friendly.  The fast movement didn't seem to go well with the level design.  Or I could just b really bad a playing games (that's possible).

Overall I did enjoy playing the game and thought several aspects were very well executed. Good job!!

Thanks for the feedback! We thought the fast movement could support the hectic gameplay, but I also think we maybe should have spent some more time tweaking the controls. I'm glad you liked it nonetheless!

I spent my first round just hopping around collecting the items, but after reading the game page and understanding the mechanics, I had a lot more with with my intentional movement. The character is super zippy, which I liked. Even though there was no animation or change to the sprite when repairing the cracks, it still felt satisfying to do. The art is really well done. Super simple, but a clean read and pretty to look at.

I think you picked an excellent track and the sfx are implemented well. I was worried I wouldn't be able to play, because the title screen and menu options wouldn't fit my screen properly, even when changing the resolution in the menu, but the gameplay room played well enough, so I was relieved to get to play (but when I look at your posted screenshot I can see a timer and score counter, I can't view that on my pc laptop, and my big display is set up with my Mac, which is why I played here). Cool jam game. I enjoyed it. Is there an endgame, or is it a high-score romp? I can't tell if I'm missing info from the UI I can't see.

Either way. Great entry. Good job.

I'm really sorry there were difficulties with the resolution, I guess we really should have added some more options to the dropdown. It's definitely noted for the next time. And to answer your question, the only goal is to reach the highest score possible, so you didn't miss out on anything. Thanks a lot for still giving the game a try despite the screen difficulties, I'm glad you liked it!
