Nice job! The dash attack mechanic is pretty cool and has a bit of strategy to it since you want to make sure you don't land on an enemy and risk getting hurt.  I beat level 3 and then the game froze...not quite sure why.  Overall a decent entry!

I'm glad you liked!

Yeah, that's a bad habit of mine.  So Godot's "quit game" option doesn't work well with itch io.  I need to instead bring the player to the start screen instead after beating the last level.  I usually program the start screen last which is why I tend not to do it that way.  My b.

I had fun. I was smiling the first time I let the slime loose to bash all around the level. I would definitely have liked it if you did have the time to implement all the other ideas you had in mind, because the one thing you did put in was really fun.

I'm very much glad you enjoyed!  Yeah, time is always the limiting factor for me with game jams unfortunately.   Hopefully I'll be able to revisit this in the future!

This is a fun game. Charging into opponents and bouncing around is a fun mechanic. Felt a bit OP compared to the opponents though.

Developer

Yeah, I wanted to make the enemies more interesting/stronger but ran out of time.  I also considered adding a cooldown to the charging mechanic, but then I felt the player didn't have enough they could do.  Definitely needs a few more features for sure.  Glad you thought it was fun though!

Cool game ! I like the main mechanic of charging and throwing yourself around, it challenges positioning and timing and it's satisfying  with the audio and all. The only thing I would say it that win screen is underwelming, it stops the music with text, so maybe a music stinger or a winning sound would be more satisfying to finish a level.

Cool game and I like those slimes.

Developer

Yeah, I'd like to blame this on lack of time, but really I just didn't want to search through music asset packs to find an appropriate track towards the end (you'd be surprise for as many music packs are on itch io, how few seem to have a victory theme - or I just have really bad luck with my searches XD )

Thanks and I'm glad you like them!

Nice! I think the dash is a fun base mechanic to work with, and it was really fun to fling myself and bounce around the level. I think a few more mechanics could add a lot of fun depth to this game, like hazards that will hurt you if you dash into them to discourage you from just flinging yourself at full velocity every time, or maybe having to knock enemies into each other to deal extra damage to them or something. I thought the sprite art was good, but the colors felt a little muddy. Grabbing a limited color pallet from Lospec would probably help.

Overall though, nice game! I'd love to give it a go again if more content was added.

100% agree with you on those.   Part of my initial idea was actually to add obstacles and then gain abilities to avoid or ignore said obstacles (for example, a spike ball that if you dash into normally hurts you but if you apply say a 'metal coat' ability, you can dash through just fine).  Knocking enemies into each other for more damage was a really good idea (probably would need to improve their collision a bit though).

Yeah... part of that was me being lazy.  I essentially used a shader to take the base player sprite (that I drew) and quickly give it an overlay without thinking of much beyond color hue.  The tiles were taken from a tileset so its colors probably also clashed with the player sprite.  Definitely something to work on in the future.  Thanks for your thoughts and glad you enjoyed!

great game ! it really need more levels , but the Charging is interesting and fun to use.

it needs a tutorial level , it controls well it plays well and that is it really i dont have much else to talk about , overall i loved it!

Developer

Yeah, definitely needs a tutorial level (especially if I ended up adding more of the features I wanted to) as well as more levels (though I'll admit, part of my fear was the gameplay was too simple that more levels would wear out the game's welcome).  Still very much glad you enjoyed!

Charging and ramming into enemies felt so satisfying! I really liked the way you bounce off the walls, and it was very cool how the last level forces you into a tight space :)

Developer

Glad to hear it!  Thanks for playing!
