Chill vibes to cut sushi to. Love it!
Thanks PizzaDev!
Fun being a sushi chef apprentice, serving the finest maki to customers :). Enjoyed the playthrough loop, music, and most importantly, the chopping sound effect!
Downloaded the latest version and no longer encountering the crash gingerbreadman mentioned.
Such a cool concept. Reminds me of my days playing Ore-no-ryouri on PlayStation cutting food with the analogue sticks! Nicely done and thanks for the memory!
The graphics are very nice. That said I do feel they would benefit from thicker lines and a contrasting background.
Sadly, I could only play this part way through as it crashed on me:
Thanks!
I've uploaded and submitted early to make sure that I have to page ready and everything, then polished some more.
So please download again and give it another try.
Hahaha the Ore-no-ryouri is great, you even have to make sure you don't cut your fingers :P
Yeah the graphics... I've spent a long time make them and picking patterns in the beginning.
But then realised I have to move on to mechanics and scoring, otherwise there would be no game :D
Will do!
About the thicker outlines and more contrast, what did you have in mind?
Any specific assets?
In general a bit more "cartoony"?
*Edit*
I thought about it and realized your totally right. The idea was from the beginning that it's a top down view on a table and the UI is basically plates or bowls on the table. But then the table should be a kind of wood -> dark and the plates can be bright.
Thanks :D
That’s it! If you play Easy Godding, I entered
playdate.display.setInverted(true)
in the simulator console for that one but the real solution would be a black background and keep the white outlined sprites. In your one, the table being dark would help you see the objects more easily. Was coming to report the same, but you beat me to it!
Love the game concept and being a sushi chef! The chopping is so satisfying.
That's give it a try again with sound now ;)
