Great job! The map looked great, I really enjoyed the different weapons, and it was a pretty fun experience overall. As others have said all it needs is more content, but it's a game jam after all!

Nice selection of weapons, the candy cane was my favourite :) Sometimes when running in to a soldier santa would start sliding around on his own. Other than that worked fine good job!

It's like Hotline Miami in the North Pole. I love the variety of weapons. Possibly the field of view could be wider as I kept getting shot by offscreen enemies. Hilariously violent!

Nice game, it was really smooth to move about. Reminds me of Hotline Miami, in a good way.  Although, was there any end goal, or was it just to survive?

Developer

Thanks! There's a boss at the top right of the map and when you beat him we were planning on it showing some screen saying that you beat the game but can continue in a "free mode" but we ran out of time so yeah, the only real goal is to survive and get as many kills as possible.

Really well polished game! It is quite challenging and is fun to play. I especially liked the pixel art!

(also, thank you for the linux build!)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! And of course, we'd never abandon our Linux brethren.

Nice little game, fairly simple to pick up, though it took me a moment to understand what I was supposed to do and I didn't last long (probably because I'm not good at shooter games). The different weapons give a bit of variation, though I think it would work better to just give you them instead of having to drop and pick up the present each time. Also big plus for Linux version. Good work!

Thanks! To be honest we didn't plan ahead very well and ended up running out of time so the game isn't very well balanced, so it's probably not your fault that you didn't last long. We decided to use the presents instead of it just giving you the weapons to both add to the aesthetic and make it slightly more strategic (since you have to make sure that you don't place it in the direction that you're running from) but yeah, in retrospect it would have been better if it just gave you the gun and had an animation or something.

I liked it, it looked good, being able to turn the volume down is great (not always included in a game jam). I would say that for my skill level it was a little hard (but then I am terrible at games). I played the windows version, wish I had a way to exit without the task manager, and a screen with some controls on in the game. but yeah, great work.

Developer

The controls screen and a pause menu are good ideas and we probably should have had them in the game but we were terrible at organizing our time and didn't have enough time to make either. In hindsight, I should have at the very least made the escape key take you back to the main menu and I don't really know why I didn't but it's too late now so oh well.

I always think of ways that I should have managed my time better in hindsight. Even without, nice game.

Developer

Yeah me too, maybe next time we'll manage our time better. And thanks!
