Jumping delay issue aside, that was an outstanding lil game. Simple but deep graphics and uniquely foreboding colors. Cool enemies that feel strong, but not too difficult to beat (for people like me with lame reflexes). Love it!

Thank you for playing, Phyrocast! I definitely agree about the repetition. I was really hoping to include some different (and animated) monsters and item pickups for different attacks, but I got to it a bit late and only had two rainy days to jam before the clock ran out. It sure was fun new experience though, and I really enjoyed making it. :-)

Thank you for trying it out, TinOak! Yeah, I had gazillion ideas and improvements I wanted to try out, but only had two days over the weeknd to jam and ran out of time. It was my first attempt at an "action/adventure" style game and I was really having fun with it. Might be worth continuing this project or something similar. :-)

Thank you for trying the game! :-) I'm so sorry about the .NET install! I had no idea it was going to make people install that. I made this one with MonoGame using VB.NET.

Very cool game and quite a memory test as you run through the levels. As mentioned many time below, I too like the hidden portal reveal mechanic with the enemies. Lotsa interesting possibilities. :-)

This is a very interesting game idea. Seems very challenging and even after playing through numerous times, I feel like I still don't entirely understand the rules for adding and subtracting score. I think I need the "explain like I'm 5" instructions. haha

A good beginning for a game and I liked the fun sprites! It was a little too easy for my taste, but it left me wanting to see more and hoping to see continued development. :-)

Very cool! I was actually really enjoying this game! My only frustration was that the movement was a bit glitchy on my computer - like it was moving too fast and I was constantly overshooting my targets or running past doors and unable to enter to escape the big scaries.

Overall, I thought it was great. Just needs tighter controls and smoother movement, for me.

Whew! Very cool little game but brutally difficult for my weaksauce reflexes. Hah!

Very cool little game with lotsa upgrade potential. Had a sort of reverse Zuma feel. It would definitely be enjoyable  as a full screen, chill and casual game with that "break out" feel.

I immediately thought I was going to dislike this one. I was way wrong! I totally loved it and after a number of mishaps, found myself emerging from the stinky depths with a sense of accomplishment and reflection upon my travels.

Simple game play, entertaining dialog, and great audio selections. Awesome stuff!

Pretty awesome game! My arm hurts from mashing the space bar so much. Haha! I was a little sad that there was no leaderboard to see the high score and how awful I was doing. It definitely lives up to its name though!

Whew! My reaction speed sucks. Haha!

Cool game even if I have no hope of making the leaderboard. :-P

Good stuff! I liked the randomized obstacles. :-)

Played it during my lunch break. Not quite as bold, but - hey - REVOLUTION! Haha

Challenging and a lil tricky on controls until I got me sea legs - ARR! - but super cool game and definitely made me want to keep trying!

Great graphics and music, and nailed the theme!

I didn't see the theme; however, it was an interesting concept, nice art, responsive game play, and soothing music - a very cool little game over all.

Very unique and interesting style and I actually wanted to keep trying, but my browser was having a tough time handling it. I like the tunes and aesthetics!

Yay! I have escaped - not very quickly, mind you, but I made it!
Great lil game! I like the theme, even though I'm terrible at puzzle games. The movement felt a bit slow; however, I realize that if it were much faster the game would be over too quickly.

(1 edit)

Significantly higher than mine, and I made the thing! Haha! :-D

I must keep trying!

Boy - do I feel this... I'm pretty much in the same boat (save for being a game designer). I'm a data analyst and have little time in the evenings to pluck away at code - not to mention just being completely fried after a long day building reports and data diving. Weekends are gone in a blink with fam and recovery - and round and round and round... I sometimes see those jams and think, "Hey! That sounds fun! I bet I could-... Yeah... No.."
