Hi! My name is Ross and I want to build a team for Fish Fest! I'm mainly a game designer and programmer using Unity and C#, but I also have a background in music production. I'm looking for musicians, artists, and other game designers to team up with. Please feel free to message me if you're interested in teaming up or looking into future jams together! You can check out my page if you're interested in my gamedev portfolio, or you can check out the work I've done on YouTube! https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCxYsnFarmN6RzIbwA9TzbyA
This is a really cool arcade experience! I had a lot of fun with it. At first I read the rules wrong and I was trying to avoid stepping into the paint, which was honestly still really challenging and fun lol. I also love the small inclusion of difficulty settings. Also the deflection feature feels really satisfying.
I liked the cute art you made for the intro a lot! The game looks great. I think it would feel better if the birds weren't so fast or maybe if your collider was a little smaller. Sometimes I change colors and there feels like there's no time to switch back to control the chameleon.
Overall nice vibe and great job using the theme and limitation!
I really enjoyed how ambitious you were with implementing the different ground statuses. It gave me a lot to learn within a small game, and I overall enjoyed the experience. I also liked the cartoon presentation, it was very juicy!
My notes: I believe I had a bug where the potions would leave my hand but quickly disappear without hitting ground. I was also a bit confused on what the right click function did.
This was such a cool mechanic, I enjoyed this! It reminds me of the game Getting Over It where you can easily lose a lot of progress, which feels frustrating but fair.
I do wish there wasn't a time limit, though, as the core mechanic does take a while to get the hang of. I also wish I had access to the later two levels to play without beating it. Maybe for game jams, it would be best to give players access to all of the levels, just so people don't feel that they need to master the game to see all you have to offer. But great job on a cool concept!
