Brilliant, simply brilliant. I suggest anyone to try it!

Congrats on your submission! It's a nice little game, maybe decrease a bit the movement sensitivity and increase the colliders of all the objects, I found hitting the dice (or the enemy) pretty difficult with the current setup. With a bit of polish and additional features it may be a good combat system for quick session.
The cakes must have been pretty good because the concept behind the game is solid. If I may, improve a bit the presentation (such as making the arrow of a lighter color to better contrast with the background), improve a bit the level design (so that the length of the platforms matches the length of the movement) and maybe add some hazards (pitfalls, etc) and you have a respectable nice game.
Congrats, I really liked it. I'd love to see more!
Oh my god, for some reason I started laughing like an idiot while playing this.
I'm pretty sure the enemies are invincible and I'm not really sure what's going on, but for some reason I had a lot of fun. Which is the whole point of a game, anyway.
Can't wait to see Uniduck back in the next installment of the series. I'm not kidding.
Congrats on completing the project to both of you!
Congrats on both of you for completing your first project! I love the fact that you went straight into making a multiplayer game in Unreal Engine as your first Jam submission :D.
I've noticed the game is of a very "material" nature, since it trusts the players will follow the result of the dices without checking if they are cheating. A proper board game. Well done guys!
Hi, congrats on your first submission! Cube and Genie is weird. The good kind of weird. The Deadly premonition/LSD dream simulator kind of weird. In case you ever decide to develop a "sequel" I suggest you to embrace the weird :D
I'm kind of interested in the Genie character. I'd love to see him flashed out a bit in dialogues with him at various locations.
Interesting project overall, despite being technically pretty limited (which is the point of the jam). Well done!
I had a lot of fun! The graphics is pretty interesting as well. I think the dice concept can be extended to other parts of the game, too. For example, instead of getting X points by rolling a dice, the player may simply get the power-up which corresponds to the result, in a rogue-like fashion.
Solid entry to the contest, congrats!
Lovely game, especially the presentation. The concept is pretty interesting, I would have loved to see the "gambling" aspect a bit more developed. Maybe by actually gambling on a value/condition in order to get more chips.
Small suggestion: rework a bit the "How to play" section, it takes a while to understand how to actually play the game.
Hi Mashama, thanks for playing the updated version!
As the programmer of the team, I'm extremely happy to hear that someone actually liked the gameplay and concept and not just the art of the game. The feeling you describe is exactly what we were aiming for, so I'm definitely relieved that we managed to get it right.
I have to agree with you on the "blind start"; on one side, I didn't want to give the player too many hints from the beginning; on the other side, the current version is definitely too "random". Maybe better hints and the ability to see at least the first 1-2 tiles could be a solution.
For the music...the lack of composers is strong in our team. That's definitely something we will address in future updates (as soon as we decide what to do with this demo), but for now that's all we have.
Just out of curiosity: how long did it take for you to see the final screen? It's difficult for me to give an estimate, as I know the solutions by heart.
Thanks again for playing the adventure of Maus and for your nice and helpful feedback. Please remember to give your grandchild at least a Stick and a Rope.
Thank you andidebob for trying the game! Unfortunately we didn't have the time to implement all the ideas, feedback and hints we think could help the player understand the best course of action. We will try to add them in a future update.
In the version I uploaded for the jam there is a game-breaking bug preventing to progress past level two. In case you are interested to try a more complete and polished version, I added a link in the description to v0.2
Hello Igor, thanks for trying the game. The system was supposed to give more feedback to the player, but unfortunately we had to scrap the feature due to time constraints.
You are right about the second level, as there was an export bug we didn't catch. That's what happens when you test mostly in editor...
We fixed the bug an now players can access all 5 level. Unfortunately, I think we cannot update the current version of the project due to the Jam being expired. If you are still interested in trying all 5 levels, I can send you the version privately.
Thank you for your kind comment! The sprites for the enemies, Maus and Grandpa are custom made by our artist Eleonora that I'll credit ASAP on the game page, together with the credits for the background sprites we used.
The suggestion mechanics is mainly inspired by Final Fantasy XII's Gambit system, with some heavy modifications. I'd love to see this text-based game you are referring to, it may be an interesting reference for possible future developments.
Unfortunately we didn't have enough time to implement more levels and a coherent story. I'm glad you had fun anyway!
Yes, they did solve the problem, thanks!
Feel free to try the game if you have time :D https://anthair.itch.io/the-fantabulous-adventures-of-one-maus
