Thanks so much for the kind feedback! :)

Sure you can message me on discord @asdfdude if you would like.

Also I think you are now the Highest score of any Itch players so well done !

Interesting game... I really agree with the other comment that the theme is unsettling... like I have done something wrong but I don't know why.

I like that you have thought of areas that the player might go off the intended path and have dialogue to address that (i tried to ride the boat very early on).

I did run into a minor problem that pressing E or SPACE would cause certain dialogue to loop indefinitely, but I could click in order to overcome this. I also think it would be nice if there was another game mechanic of some kind, although with such a unique setting I am not sure exactly what that would be.

I ultimately made some poor dialogue choices and was sent back to the beginning to try again. I definitely need to have another more careful run through the game but this is definitely impressive for a solo dev in two weeks. Great work!

No problem and thanks for taking time out of your day to play our little (or maybe not so little... lol) game. We plan to release a few updates to this project once the jam is over and the files are unlocked so your feedback is really appreciated.

Thanks for the feedback!

I am not sure why the game tries to access the network, I may have packaged a plugin that tries to access the network. I suspect it might be the Metahuman Face LiveLink plugin, or possibly just the engine setting itself up for multiplayer functionality (even though RDR is not a multiplayer game).

For full disclosure, here is a full list of the plugins our unreal project uses:
"Name": "ModelingToolsEditorMode",
"Name": "ElectronicNodes",
"Name": "FlatNodes",
"Name": "NiagaraFluids",
"Name": "RigLogic",
"Name": "LiveLink",
"Name": "LiveLinkControlRig",
"Name": "AppleARKitFaceSupport",
"Name": "HairStrands",
"Name": "SoundUtilities",
"Name": "TickOptToolkit"

However, in testing a fresh package, unreal engine still tries to access the windows network. It might be a packaging setting that I have left enabled, or it could simply be that UE is designed for multiplayer games and tries to access the local network regardless. I will look into the cause of this further.

Also I have confirmed that the full title should only be 6.25GB when unzipped, could you have possibly extracted it twice, or included the zip archive in your calculation? I plan to upload a much smaller version after the jam is over, I expect it to be less than 2GB.

EDIT: After doing some digging, it seems like all Unreal engine projects will do this by default. The only way to prevent the engine attempting to access the network is to edit the c++ source and disable the TCP, UDP, ONLINE, NETWORK, and SERVER modules as unreal engine is a multiplayer engine.

This game is hilarious lol, and I really like the graphics. Super polished for a 2 week jam I love it!!!

I really like this, its a super unique take the platformer genre...

This is really coool

I really like this game, the combat mechanics are simple but they are still enough that there is a bit of a challenge using potions and prioritizing different enemies.  The story is funny too and there are a lot of pieces here to lay foundations for a fleshed out full game if you decide to keep working on it.

awesome game! I love the unexpected twist... this really could be fleshed out into a much larger game with different areas to explore. Really good foundations for a light rpg clicker experience, and the dialogue is funny :)

Thanks for sharing your score! 42,000 is a great score, but the highest I have seen is around 90,000! If you manage to beat that please let us know :)

i love it my friend...

with your advice I am definitely going to try the game again!

I LOVE the spell drawing mechanics!!!!

i think the spell cast mechanic is just fantastic

please continue and make something nice, i think this is such a cool idea.

This game is the first start to finish game I have made with my friend in 15 years... We tried to keep the scope small so that we could actually finish and we started on the first day of the jam.

I think we all know a Dazza or two...

I absolutely agree with you, the game is addictive as hell, but it also has a little way to go in making the layouts more approachable.

We planned to have exit signs and other things to guide the player towards the next door but we didn't have time to get all of that done before the submission deadline...

It is planned for a future release in the next few weeks.

Glad you had a blast, and if you play again, please feel free to share your score in the comments :)

I played the game but I was unable to get very far. Also space seems to do something interesting that is not in the controls menu, but i really really like the spell casting. It has proven to me that I do not know how to draw a straight line with my mouse, but really inventive cool idea.

I think it would be awesome if you could somehow combine spells by drawing multiple on the page at once... that would take it to the next level (steam from ice and fire?)

Love the game , but would appreciate some pointers on what to do, i tried burning everything and freezing everything and no luck...

Lol just to add for anyone reading this.

We have realized that spamming the button will cause the gas emitter to spawn every time you press it. Just 1 press is enough to start the game, and we hope you have fun.

Would love for you to try our game, and if you like leave a comment showing off your high score:

really like the fluid sim, and the music really makes it an anxious experience trying to scoop up the oil...

Thanks so much for you're feedback. This is really valuable for us. I recommend playing again and sharing your score here with us, so far we have a high score of 90,000

pretty funny little game. I think the progression might be a little slow for a lot of people, but it is good to see a fellow aussie in the Jam!

This looks great and has some cool mechanics.

this looks great, nice to see more unreal engine projects on here

This is so good. The sound design and the way it all slowly gets away from you and you can't stop it. It's really interesting.

This is really awesome! I like all of the little details!

This game is amazing.

I really love the way its all put together, the ferrets are really funny, and it is actually a game! Putting out a big spread of food for the ferrets is awesome lol.

I love it, this is really really cool. Nice way to incorporate the spreading mechanic, and the game is a real challenge.

It's really good considering you did it in such a short time!

This is really awesome. It's quite difficult but I like it a lot!

Thanks for playing!

If you play again, would love it if you share your high score here on the page :)
