great game, you should be very proud of yourself

Loved it, gave me mega lo mania vibes... well done to you 4

very fun game... weirdly gave me Mega Lo Mania Vibes and that's always a great thing.

Happily waiting for this Jam to start - practising my programmer art.

sadly cant use this guy in my game today but enjoyed creating him.

That damn shovel was a B*%ch to find. although it did give me a feeling of supreme power once I had it. Great game that was spot on with the theme.

thanks for giving it a go, and I totally get the speed problem,  while playtesting after submission I went to the toilet and came back and still had not crashed.. Oppps..

The original premise was to have the boat with 360 degree movement in which you would have to move a randomly generated coastline looking for loot. having gotten the lighthouse and objects in and working correctly and moving the boat; I noticed I only had 1 hour left, so scrapped that had the objects spawn ahead and come at you. the speed ramps up over time, but I didn't have time to playtest correctly so had not realised that the difficult ramps so slowly you have to hit level 40 before it really becomes anything but a pleasure cruise..
The Darkness level was purely designed (with my own monitor in mind) that the debris is only clearly visible when light form a lighthouse shines on them and a faint blur when in the dark. I didn't have time - or realise that some peoples gamma levels are lower or higher than mine which greatly effects playability.

But thank you for giving it a go, PS myself and my daughter loved  your entry :D

Really enjoyed this little excursion. its the kind of game that given a few extra hours would have a lot of depth as getting those core pushing mechanics down probably ate into your time. Nice well done:D

High praise indeed - my daughter tried my game and then your game. She declared yours to be much better

I cant believe how bad i am at these puzzles, even had my 10 year old shouting instructions over my shoulder

Dwemthy. Thank you for the feedback. 3 oil wells beats my personal best of 2 wells.

Initially the player character faced the closest well which assisted in making a calculated guess.l before digging.

I totally misjudged my timings :/, spent a good 1 hour drawing the sprite sheet and setting up the animations, I will have to upload the sprite sheet as a screenshot - it’s ridiculous; I went totally overboard; it had power ups, enemies, character variations. None of which I had time to implement.

I defiantly should have had “q” as restart rather than exit.
