Intresting, a metroidvania!

Often a dev make a metroidvania and submit it for a jam.

I played a lot of this games but are all broken or very incomplete.

This is different.

Yes it's small(obvious, it's a jam game) and the power ups it's not super original but it works really well. Has a good progression and even a "AH-AH!" moment if you explore well (no spoilers ;) ) reminds me a lot of Ghost and Goblins (yeah, i know, not a metroidvania) in the jumping and even the enemies. I played  about 40/60 mins beacause i had fun e wanto to explore all of it.

Couple of issues:

Like you said: controls for keyboard it's uncofortable. I'm a "seasoned" metroidvania/platform player forged by the flame of thousands jumps and tricks so, with a little bit of effort i could still playing it. People not in the genre...i don't know with these controls.

In the Casrtle Garden there is a small platform that protect you to go in the purple water but i pressed S and I ended up there anyway. So i tried to go right and left and i could pass under the walls. I tought I found a secret but...nope. Then i died when i got close to the spikes.

The S button for jumping off platforms sometimes works and sometimes the character get stuck in the middle of the pixels

In the Center Yard if you try to explore with the bat form you can jump completley the first boss and go directly to the shadow lord room. If you go further you can go out of bounds and fall infinitley.

But despite that (not big issues in my opinion for a jam game) , it's a great work!

Impressive for a game been done in 30 hours. Puzzles could be more stratified but, hey, remember, 30 hours.

The work of the artist it's amazing.

Good job!

Ok, you did this in a Compo Ludum Dare time window, and it's good! I check out your work and it's obvious that you accumulate some experience so you are perfectly aware about what to do and what not in terms of game design. Loved the fact that you always leave an hint to the player for what to do in every situation. It's a thing I struggle a lot with.

The take on the theme it's very clever and funny. The platform with rewind mechanic with puzzle twists it's not the most original thing but you  were been capable to add some spice to it and make it yours. The dance moves as powers are a great idea.

Not too long but perfect play time for a gamejam.

Very well done, i think it's one of my favorites of this jam!

Thanks for  taking the time to try our game.

First of all we are aware of the  menu/UI problems and every time we make a game we make something wrong with resolutions, we still have a lot to learn in that field.

For the tile sizes and  characters we look up to bomberman and we noticed that  characters was two tiles ( or 1 1/2 tile) tall but colliders only one. We use that trick.  But we can do some tweek here and there to smooth the gameplay.

You're right for the sfx, we plan to add a sound manager in the menu post jam to fix the issue.

Yes the UI element for telling if you can make a copy is essential! We noticed that  after a little bit of "not-in-team" play testing after jam deadline.

We learned a lot, and the most important thing it's, no pun,  we need to better manage TIME!

Thanks a lot for your extreamly precise feedback!

Thank you for the video and your time for trying the game.

Your video is very useful because now we understand that the idea to make some kind of indicator for the laser enemies was a very good idea. But we just barely make the game in time.

Also we are very sorry for the UI components that went cut out the full screen.

Hi! Thank you for the feedbacks and for play our game!

If it's possible can you tell me, in your opinion, how can we made objectives more clear?

I wrote the tutorial and i specified all in the description page but, clearly, it's not enough.

I'm not "passive-aggressive", i sincearly want to understand  how to make clearer objectives.

It's a simple concept but the juiciness makes it really fun to play, good work!

The game is really fun, the concept is simple yet engaging, the theme and the prerequisite perfectly executed. Also loved how the upside down adds an extra difficulty. Good work!

Really appreciated the fake PS1 cover and the presentation, the game reminds me some phases of Outer Wilds. Just some feedback: maybe it's just me, but I got it by space junk all the time and haven't found a single oxigen or fuel refill.

The game is fun and I'm really impressed by the quantity of levels and the fact there's even a new mechanic introduced at one point. Also, love the aesthetic. Well done!

I love the concept and the art! I also like the idea of having the list of what can I do always on screen. The prerequisite is really on point, I lasted only six days :D Good work!

Really like the concept and the aesthetic! The bandits were never a problem, I would have added a little more challenge to justify the upgrades. Also the controls of the cannon and the resource collector overlap. That said, keep up the good work!

Some visual effects make my head hurts so it's definitely immersive :D You nailed the theme perfectly. Good work!

The game is fun, the art and music is good, you nailed the theme perfectly. One of the best I've played so far, great work!

I love that when the bear shoots he is left with fewer balls in his hands, it's very diegetic. Good work!

Ok, i see what you haved try to do. I really like this kind of games where you have to figure out  how the game mechanics and the design works to pass a level. It's a nice puzzle platformer BUT:

Audio it's too repetitive.

You spawn, in level one, over spikes. That's BAD design. Spikes are spikes, are pointy are dangerous by common sense. You can't (even if you want to suggest that you going to need the spikes as a platform after) use spike as platforms and go against years of game design conventions. All you had to do was turning the spike sprite upside down when the spike fall so you have the flat part where you can jump and stay on.

That said i had fun playing it and figure out the levels.

Keep up the good work!

I would have expected a game where you have to balance the dish pile,  don't know why so the game was a positive suprise.

I got that really nice "one more try" feeling that  brings me to reach the five stars.

It'simple but really fun and challenging in a way.

I hated so much the running guy...

Audio could be better, too loud and it's get repetitive very soon. IMHO it dosen't match the game atmosphere.

Oh really nice! Love the particles, love the left/right flip animation Paper Mario style, love the silly skelly character, love the fact it's hard but simple in the design, love the art.

For me one of the best entry in this jam.

Well done!

Not bad at all! Sure, it's Suika but you add little things to differentiate from it. Well done.

A unique experience, it really make you feel unstable! Cool and original concept, good work!

Starts chill, then you have to work hard. Simple but effective, good work!

I confirm that you can just click the orb and click the checkbox to take the money (in fact at the beginning I didn't understand what I needed the other ingredients for), but if you play it as intended the concept is cool, keep up the good work!

First of all thank you for trying the game!

We assure you it's doable with some practice and, just to explain that we are not crazy sadists  who have danmaku games and Cat Mario as their favorite games,  in 5 screens (if we  remove the first one designed to show you the types of platforms and how these works, and the last one, the simpler screen of all)  two of them have two course one simpler than the other. The only screen that put you in the situation to figure out  what to do it's the one with the moving platforms but it's simpler than you think ;)

We are aware that some people really don't like these type of games but we wanted to do it anyway, we had fun.

That said thanks again and we definetley think of checkpoints in post jam work on this game.

Finally someone gets the pun!

Glad you enjoy the game.

We are aware that some people really don't like these type of games but we wanted to do it anyway, we had fun!

Spamming jump when you try to wall jump makes you do MegamanX wall jumps and this broke the level design quite a lot but still fun and challenging at times.

The objects are not that necessary, with precision you could go through a level without it (if you designed that on purpose for me it's a plus).

Loved the art and the music.

Very good job, i really enjoyed it!

I was really surprised to find out the game has 20 levels and with such level of polish. The movement is good and satisfing. although it requires patience. Good work!

I would have preferred WASD over the arrow keys, but the game is fun and have lots of mechanics going on. Good work!

The audio is incredible, from voice acting to the sound effects. Really good art and animations. The three weapons  are well differentiated, but I agree with JJGamez64 that the gameplay need a bit more juiciness. Also, nice twist at the end. Great work!

I like the concept, the music is good (just a bit too loud) and the enemies are really cute. Keep up the good work!

It gave me some Polar Panic vibes, really like it! It's fun and intuitive and fits the theme perfectly, well done!

The game is fun, the dash is satisfying and I really like the character design! The leaderboard is a nice touch. Good job!

Got stuck at the wires' puzzle but that aside really cool art and smooth animations. I'd love to see a final version of it, good work!

Like the concept of a vertical flappy bird and the minimalistic style. The collisions are a bit imprecise and there's no audio feedback when you lost health points. Even the visual feedback is only about losing hearts but there're no damage animation and invincibility frames. To be a first project is very promising, I'd love to see you expand on this!

Really like the concept and the take on the theme. Too much control buttons, I think 4 spells are good since they change after a while anyway, but it's cool to have all this variety. Good job!

Loved the minimalistic art, the platforming and the level design! Very well made.

The gameplay is simple but challenging and the monsters' design is great, good work!

Noted! Thanks for the feedback.

No sound designer and musician here so we improvise that part and any feedback it's really important for us.

The mechanics are really unique and funny, really like the music and the art. Maybe I would have put the visual feedback of the impending explosion in the formula's sprite color (I looked closely and I saw that there's a little shaking animation but it's hard to read while you're moving), looking at the green bar in the left corner is a bit tricky. But that's the only thing I have to say, overall it's a great work, one of my favorites!

Really like the concept and the message you try to convey. A very meditative experience. Good work!
