Thank you! I'm so glad you've enjoyed it. It was fun to make.

Theoretically, the save function is only available when you're inside the submarine (the top-down section) and press the start-button or "enter." It was a weird function to try and make work. Though, if you're playing the ROM version with an emulator, those frequently have a "save state" option that should do the trick.

That said, you can get through the game within about 10 to 15 minutes.

Thanks again for checking it out!

It feels like I'm actually inside Pinball City.

Thanks for playing!

Super flattered it reminded you of Blade Runner a bit. I know Deckard's apartment is in the Ennis House which is technically modernist, but come on. We all know Frank Lloyd Wright was influenced by brutalism on that job.

Drac attaaaaaaack!

This one got me sweatin'! Excellent art. Charming sound design. I love the garlic doods.

Such melancholy! This was a good little narrative. I appreciate the simplicity and visual changes as the story progresses.

I want more! I want overpriced popcorn! I want cheap, plastic, often broken novelties! I want funnel cake! I want to routinely scrape gum off the bottom of my shoe!

The visuals were excellent and I really enjoyed the radio mechanic! I like the slower-paced, head-scratcher puzzles. Nice choice of sound and music!

I love the simple act of turning a radio dial and listening. There's some meat on them bones.

This was incredibly endearing. I'm a sucker for games with nonviolent mechanics and this is one of them! The ending was pleasant, too.

I now have the impulse to keep my blanket close.

Juicy visuals, great choice of sound design, and a wonderfully disturbing rabbit fella. Didn't even need the jump scares to conduct a spooky environment!

I loved playing this. Sometimes, this is all the videogame I need. Shooty-stick and zombies.

Side note: "Night of the Living Dead" is one of my favorite films! Might be emotionally manipulating me into loving your game more, but I don't mind.

Exquisite! This is what being woken up by a phone feels like. Every time.

This is great! I like your choice of sound. The VFX were rad. The layout was fun and tense.

Side note: Did you make the construction project layout map? It's a small thing, but I personally love the attention to detail with the cup ring stains and actual handwriting (or is it a font?).

Our programmer said the volume couldn't be changed, so we're instead swapping the sound out to play "Yackety Sax."

In all seriousness, we're gonna adjust that sound down a bit. Thanks for the feedback!

Maybe we can just make the trail more monsters.

A conga line of terror.

Hey, that's not cool. No gatekeeping. It's a dracula.

Aw! Thank you!

I am well. I hope you are, too.

I don't know if I'll work on High Tide much more, but I am definitely puttering around on other projects.

Thank you so much for playing!

I'm very glad you got some enjoyment out of it.

Currently working to have another update by the end of the year!

I'm so happy it helped! A fair bit of trial and error was necessary for me. Can't wait to see your game!

The gameplay, graphics, and effects are unmatched. My PC managed 15fps and it was glorious.

Thank you so much for playing through and recording it! I'm so touched.

I've made some small updates since this play-through, it looks like, but still so pleased to see it!

walk all the way against the hatch and press "z" or "x"

So strange! I wonder if it has something to do with your browser or OS? I don't know what else to tell you but interact with the sub hatch.

I like this! The sounds were super cute and the timing got me sweatin'!

Yeeeahhh! I couldn't help myself. :>

I'm so glad you liked it!

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

And yes, maybe.

Enter doesn't do anything until a couple levels later. Use the "A" and "B" buttons! They are mapped to z and x, or j and k... also ctrl and alt, I think. Then interact with the hatch on the sub!

I loved this! I really enjoy the mechanics and the character art is fun. Learning the controls and getting a hang of the movement is very satisfying. Pretty incredible for a first game made in two weeks!

Thanks! :>

It was hard work!

Oh gosh! Thank you for saying so.

Thank you! I had fun making it.

Interact with the sub hatch and it should bring up the option to start.

Thank you! I was inspired a lot by those older shoot-em-ups, for sure. You aren't the first one to let me know about the difficulty level. I will be changing some settings soon. Should help!

Thank you.  And it's possible! I've flashed the rom to a cartridge and played it on my game boy. Feels better on the original hardware ngl.

Thank you! I spent a lot of time pooling over the classics to figure out the design rules.

Shoot the eyes and mouth! Had to hide the sprite for the health bar because of frame limitations of game boy hardware. I'll figure out a fix soon.

Of course. And yeah, the final scene.

Wildly dense! The puzzle mechanics are very enjoyable. I found a bug during the ending scene where turning into a soul-butterfly can make the realities switch and you fall to your death. Otherwise the reality switching/possessing stuff is fun! Very impressed. I totally would not get rid of the soulscythe!

Excellent work.

I did the things and celebrated with pizza and bebis. It was a good day!

Love the look of this game! A lot of fun details, cool jams, and good humor.

I hate moving, but I will leap on any and every excuse to order pizza.

"High Tide" is a short, underwater shoot-em-up/adventure game made to Game Boy limitations.

There's some middle-school-level swearing in it.
