This is great! I like your choice of sound. The VFX were rad. The layout was fun and tense.

Side note: Did you make the construction project layout map? It's a small thing, but I personally love the attention to detail with the cup ring stains and actual handwriting (or is it a font?).

Developer(+1)

Thank you very much for comment!

Yes! Map maybe is not very accurate, but it shows overall shape of the facility. And on paper you can see my handwriting :D

The stamina is somewhat punishing with the enemy catching up to me. Escape to restart the game is a dangerous button to have it on. I pressed it looking for a pause menu. Not going to lie, I couldn't escape the enemy after he spawned, I kept trying to get past him but he kept catching up to me.

Main menu adds to the polish. The sound design was nice, footsteps felt right and what not; the enemy spawn sphere was maybe a bit loud though.

Overall pretty decent submission.

Developer

I appreciate the feedback. Yeah, I had the feeling that the game might end up being a bit too difficult when we were finished with our submission and yep the stamina is meant to be used pretty exclusively to escape, although it can be used otherwise too for sure :). In the beginning segment the easiest way to progress will be to escape the enemy back towards the beginning of the game to make him into "search mode" and then to try to avoid him.

Thank you very much for playing and commenting!

Is it possible to get passed the enemy that spawns?

Developer

Yep, easiest is to run towards the beginning of the game and make him go into "search mode", then just avoid. Or a bit harder to do but possible: run past him and drop down the stairwell to escape. :)

It was scary to get chased by the red monster! I think I managed to get quite far but he always got me! A bit too hard for me! Well done!

That's a seriously nice menu, I was instantly impressed by it :D Regardless the game: I had kinda hard time at the beginning, but besides that you did great job in the sound design. I wish the map in the beginning was little more clear, or at least you could inspect it better, but that's a nitpick too. The movement was solid, even if I ended up feeling that the walking was too slow and that the running was fast, but not fast enough for the chases. Environment was interesting too, but variation on textures and such could spice it up too!

Overall, I think the enemy's mechanics could have been introduced little clearer and other small balances could be done too, but besides that I had fun playing ^^ Good work!

A lot of fair points, I definitely appreciate that. For sure a lot to learn going forward and also nice to hear about the things which were working. Thank you so much for playing and giving feedback!

Also gaved me a jump scare!
I like chase feeling and sound design in the game (smooth and really good selected!) .

I liked the enemy sounds. They help to know whether they are close or not.

Developer

The balance for the sounds might not be perfect, but I'm happy to hear it didn't go unnoticed what we tried to achieve with it. Thank you very much for playing and feedback!

Gave me a good scare more than a few times and I'm loving the visuals and setting.

Developer

Very happy to hear. Thank you so much for playing!

This game really did it's job in scaring me! A true horror game. (and a rage game at the begging lol)

Developer

Heh, thank you very much for checking it out!

Unfortunately the run mechanic didn't work consistently for me so I couldn't manage to juke out that first enemy - but love the premise and the environments you created!

Developer

Yeah, I think the first encounter ended up being a bit too demanding on how it should be approached. Also we aren't really conveying that running should be saved for escaping, although I won't outrule the possibility of bugs of course :).

Thank you very much for playing and feedback!

I've played your game when you submitted and replayed it now for the review.
I really like how this game goes, it was a nice short experience!

I really liked the graphics.

I don't know if the walls were specially made so simple but I like them.

A better game than mine.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, it was a decision in the very beginning to make the layout as simple as possible first and then use time which we'd have to flesh it out as much as we could.

Thank you very much for checking it out and for the comment!

also a bit difficult but fun

Developer(+1)

Heh, I had a feeling that it might end up being a little bit too difficult even.. Thank you very much for playing!
