Nice little game, good job! Sometimes the sea monsters start too close to the ship or are moving too fast for the ship to get out of the way. Maybe let the ships defend themselves with harpoons against a close-by monster (if it's illuminated)?
Great submission - excellent use of the theme, and unique gameplay!
One suggestion: I kept getting tripped up navigating between the differently-sized buttons - it might make navigation easier if you could move the cursor in a circle clockwise or counter-clockwise (so you could navigate with just 2 buttons instead of 4).
Very cool game! It's like interactive cellular automata. Interested to know what the tree-generating rules are? Noticed you can wipe out a bunch of trees by cutting a path encircling them (without having to hit each one individually) and the few that are left will die out on their own.
