Thanks for playing. The game clearly needs a tutorial!
Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to test your game, as I don’t use Windows. But the concept seems very deep. It picks my curiosity.
Thanks for playing and for the feedback.
I see we had pretty much the same idea. Nice job on your side!
My game is pretty janky at the time. It is lacking animation, and there are some annoying bugs that make the routing very ineffective at times. I also have to add a proper economy to the game, pretty much like yours (completed requests will give you credit to buy upgrades and new nodes)
As for your game, it seems very interesting and very well executed. Which engine did you use? As the players themselves control the message rate by upgrading the “Internet” node, how do you create a challenge on the long run?
Thanks for playing!
The game is not in the very good state right now. There are bugs that will prevent you from playing correctly and the level design and economy are completely absent.
I was a bit sad to not being able to release the game in a better state, but that’s the hard reality of game jams and their time limit.
I tried your game but wasn’t able to really get the controls, but the idea seemed really nice. Good job!
If this is indeed GateKeeper that is causing problems, notarizing the app should solve it. https://help.gamemaker.io/hc/en-us/articles/360002425218-macOS-Notarizing-Your-Apps
Unfortunately, we lacked some time to make a proper onboarding.
Basically, the pitch is that you play the dungeon landlord and not the hero visible on screen, and you control the choices offered to this non-playable hero/character. They have to reach the end of the level by finding the exit (the general direction of the exit is given by the yellow glow in the mini-map).
Thanks for playing anyway!
Thanks for the heads up. I have obviously no problem with derivative works based on Top&Tom. However, just to let you know, my company and I will launch the game on mobile very soon and there may be an issue with the “Top&Tom 2” name in itself. I haven’t tested your game but I’m sure it is perfectly fine. I would only require a change of name I guess. Do you think it would possible on your side?
