also there was a victory screen but i couldn’t add it in time unfortunately D:

good point, will add that to the controls. I didn’t add it because my mouse wheel is kinda broken haha

yeah the colors are a bit confusing, will change that after jam. Adding shift for dash makes sense, will add that too.

Thanks! and yes our artist did a great job!

felt very unintuitive, but interesting concept. would definitely aim where mouse if it was me

web export doesn’t work, you need to turn on the shared array buffer setting in game page

yep the automatic tileset i’ve set up didn’t work fully due to how tile art was so I quickly made the level even if it was somewhat borked

thanks haha, tbh I think I could have made a lot more content and levels for this game if I had another game (the game is a bit easy for me haha)

web export doesn’t work, check the setting for shared array buffer on itch.io game page

cute visuals, nice color palette. pretty cool that there are multiple endings. dark ending was :OOOOOO but it’s an interesting use of concept.

Great job!

didn’t work on web, you need to turn onn the shared array buffer setting at the itch.io game page. pls check out my game when you can

image.png

you need to add setting at the bottom of the itch.io game stuff, the “bufferArray” something to make the web export work

quite cute, didn’t finish because at about 60% it’s super frustrating when your plane hits top of the level and then nose dives down.

cool story and concept though!

cool concept at first but felt pretty repetitive quickly + my hand started to hurt lol, will replace my Kovaak’s aim training with this hehe.

but other than that a great submission, it’s a full working game with a high score and everything, good job!

Yep, the main distinction is “confusion” over “curiosity” basically. withholding information shouldn’t feel annoying or hindering to the player but rather as an addition to the content. In this case the real game was like a puzzle of credit cards and prices, adding that guessing part didn’t add to it, but rather reduced.

you could add a downloadable version for now

will try again!

I am in love with this adorable game honestly. If it was more fledged out with some more story I would definitely consider buying it. You guys should keep working on it, fledge out some art a bit more and it’ll definitely be a worthy game to publish.

I didn’t hear any sounds and also in some cases it seemed the colliders were very confusing. either way great job!

“Because he got money… and power…” lmao

clean visuals, sounds are pretty nice, does get boring later on but it works and it’s clean, great entry!

couldn’t play the game it was stuck on “loading graphics” D:

nice visuals, upgrades are kinda good but not obvious that they actually upgrade you.

girls indeed have only that one ability…. (jk lol)

but seriously nice concept and gameplay overall, clean polished feel. Here’s some feedback

  1. if you fail a bunch it becomes frustrating to wait for level to restart, having a quick R press to restart would be pretty nice

  2. in one of the levels you collide with an item by accident because it’s hard to go around

  3. it feels a bit annoying having to guess every price each time to win the level, I think prices should be displayed straight away so that the puzzle becomes math and not guessing which price was where

great sounds, menu music is a banger tf. gameplay clean and polished good job!

some feedback though:

  • I’d make the lower part of the game a bit smaller so that I can see better the enemies that are coming etc

  • at some point it felt like I couldn’t really control gameplay as much (like I was rigged to win) because you can’t heal yourself.

overall though pretty great game and well put together, good job!

pretty cool effects from the cards, there are a few gameplay issues like I can’t go to the edge of the screen to collect cards, because enemies would spawn there.

also there isn’t much point for me to know what card is next since there’s no time to look, also very hard to.

If you make the game level bigger and camera follow the player it would solve the first issue.

Other than that it was pretty fun and if it was a bit more polished I’d play more.

Here’s an idea if you want to make it a full-fledged game.

A top down shooter where yo have to pick cards for your deck that are your weapons etc, as you play the game you unlock more cards. so you combine deck building + top down shooter/twin-stick shooter

Seems like an interesting game but no idea what I am doing like a lot of people said. cool graphics and sounds though! (pls checkout my game too haha)

(1 edit)

Overall I quite like it, small project but interesting interactions. I only wish there was a little more explanation of what each cards do, as otherwise it feels like I am just guessing. Also quite liked the humour in the beginning haha

If this was a full, more fledged out (puzzle) game, I’d consider playing it.

pretty cool that there are whole 3 mini games, art is pretty cool even if simple, audio generally coherent.

main thing is that games felt more frustrating than fun to me due to controls and the way they work

The game is very laggy, almost unplayable unfortunately

feels pretty polished, which is cool, but not instantly clear how things work. the logs that need to be collected blend with the placed lights. But it’s a unique concept!

The game is somewhat bugged, enemies get stuck often and player too (fix the collider positions) also there are no diagonal positions. However art is pretty cool!

I recommend to add those features to the game after the jam to expand your skills in that area

Music is kinda banger, game fairly polished and good amount of content for it’s overall complexity.

Here’s some feedback though:

  1. music has a “bling” sound in it that I thought was when I picked up cards, but it wasn’t. that’s confusing and should be the way I said

  2. I have no reason to keep moving, I can just stay in one place and finish the game as long as i slightly avoid asteroids. You should have a faster asteroid spawn aimed at the player every x seconds if player stood around same area for y seconds.

  3. game would be way more engaging or feel like that if the movement would be wit a mouse (mouse to aim and click to move in that direction + WASD if wanted)

  4. having a time goal or time limit would add some kind of reason to actually try to be fast, and not stand in one place

This is basically Durak but as a game and different power levels, having different power levels of cards than usual made it more confusing tbh, also not obvious which card is the lead card.

However for the first game ever this is a really good entry, keep going!

Hey, thanks for letting us know! I am not sure why that’s the case maybe there was a short period when I removed and added the download back in, check again! image.png

The awesome tool i love the underlying idea, some things that could be added maybe:

1 History log of activities for example

(5:30pm) programming :30 min,

(6:00pm) reading 1 hr,

(7:00pm) drawing 1 hr etc

2 An activity timer that starts from 0 sec and stops when you stop it. In some cases, you don’t know how long something will take.

For example, you could start an activity “Programming” and stop it whenever, which for example could be at 53 min or any other time.

3 Furthermore instead of looking for the songs themselves, you could try to integrate Soundcloud API and look for songs there. It’ll be alright as long as you follow the Soundcloud API Terms of Use, although i could imagine it might be a bit hard in Godot but should be pretty doable.

Cool tool, i would love to see the source code for this (and for the map generator)

I loved the concept of the game! The irony of wanting to stay the only human, but eventually you succumb to power and slowly join the machine. You end up being a hypocrite to yourself, and i was always curious what the next upgrade is.

As far as gameplay goes, i think the space given is a bit too small but at the start it was hard, though, when i got an upgrade everything became much easier and easier so maybe the more upgrades you get the more space but also monsters you see.

Good job on the game though!

I am happy to hear that you're continouing the development of the game!
Yeah i am pretty excited to see the survival mode :D, all the blood effects would make it look really cool.

Also are you planning on a LAN mode any time soon? I would love to play with my friends sometimes Maybe even a 2v2 where you have 2 planes of duels (As in, it would be the same way as it is now, but 2 different depths on the screen). I know it's a bit hard to implement, especially i have no idea how it would be done in GameMaker (since i use Unity myself, previously used GameMaker a bit)

Hey, the game is very good so far, i was initally impressed how satisfying to win the round is, the animations and blood particles are so good. I especially love how it has the anime/realisim  mixture to it. I am personally a fan of high skill games with blades and the such and this game really suits me.

Thus, i have some suggestions for you, some of which may be have been already mentioned.

It's kind of hard to tell if the attack was parried or not so it would be nice to see some sparks of something to indicate a parry.

Sometimes it's also hard to tell which stance you are in since i would be looking at my opponnent, so maybe some simple sprite in a corner somewhere could show that? (like a man standing with high/mid/low stance).

As for the wakisashi, you could do 2 hit kill instead of one, though then balancing would be hard ;/

Also an empty level with a peacefull dummy so that you could test the range/speed/ etc of the weapons.

For something to keep people playing you could do infinite waves (Just continuously  spawn enemies) that would be even more satisfying (with all the blood accumulating ).

But hey, keep up the good work, i see a lot of potential with this game that you could turn into something bigger.

xD i like how some people don't know how to unzip files xd.
