Fun puzzle! Would love to see updates, and I agree that the prices should be visible.

by the way, congratulations, you made the most accurate girl simulator i've ever seen

(that was a joke, you can laugh)

(or was it? *insert vsauce music*)

girls indeed have only that one ability…. (jk lol)

but seriously nice concept and gameplay overall, clean polished feel. Here’s some feedback

  1. if you fail a bunch it becomes frustrating to wait for level to restart, having a quick R press to restart would be pretty nice

  2. in one of the levels you collide with an item by accident because it’s hard to go around

  3. it feels a bit annoying having to guess every price each time to win the level, I think prices should be displayed straight away so that the puzzle becomes math and not guessing which price was where

Developer

Thank you! And thanks for the feedback. Yeah that quick reset button would be a good addition. And yeah the object collisions definitely need some fixing.

As for the prices, hearing the feedback from you and others, I’m thinking you’re right about the prices. My thought going into it was that having the prices visible would make it too easy. I think I’ll try changing that after the jam review period is over

Yep, the main distinction is “confusion” over “curiosity” basically. withholding information shouldn’t feel annoying or hindering to the player but rather as an addition to the content. In this case the real game was like a puzzle of credit cards and prices, adding that guessing part didn’t add to it, but rather reduced.

I really enjoyed this game. It is fun and quirky and put a smile on my face. Great work!

hahahahahhah what

Pretty unique little puzzle game, i would play if it was a mobile game and... was not a girl simulator(not that theres anything wrong with that, just the judgement my friends would give me)

Submitted(+2)

I couldn't enjoy the game because it reminds me of my wife spending all my money.
But still awesome idea implementing the special object haha. And I love your level design a lot :)

oof that’s rough

Nice game! It's visually nice and has a really fun game loop! Good job with the art and the challenge! It did feel repetitive at times but that's probably just me playing for 20 min straight lol

Love it! very original puzzle.

Cute game, it really made me feel like a girl

Really like how the game looks and feels to play, (Although the store was a little cramped at times and made me pick something up that I didn't want to) but it does get a little repetitive when you accidentally mess up and get a price wrong. Other than that, great work, keep it up.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing, and for the feedback! Yeah I ended up making it a “guesstimating” game since if I put the prices on there it would have been too trivial, but if I put nothing then it would be just a trial & error memory game. The best I could come up with in the time frame was using the dollar signs to give an estimate of how much each item cost

Really like the UI and sound! Gameplay wise was cool too, striking a balance between "I know the prices", and making it a good puzzle is challenging! Great work :)

Loved the audio!

Gameplay felt a little guess and check-y, and the theme seems a little reductive?

Submitted(+1)

More hard than it initally looks. theres some guess work into it at first.

anyways i LOVE the sound design. feels really on point for the game. i like the idea a lot :)

The gameplay was surprisingly more puzzling than I thought it would be, and the visuals and sound are great!

Developer

Thank you! For the sake of feedback, when you say "puzzling" do you mean the puzzles were challenging or that you didn't understand what you were supposed to do?

Submitted(+1)

I mean that the puzzles were challenging in an enjoyable way. After my first failed attempt I understood the game, and enjoyed the trial and error aspect the rest of the way through.

It's great to see that you care enough to ask for feedback!

Developer

I really appreciate the feedback! I always want to keep learning what works and what doesn't in terms of conveying the rules of the game while respecting the intelligence of the player.
