Wow! Very cool game! I was very sucked in.

I love how the game plays with your expectations a bit, and develops a sense of mystery and distrust.

A great feat for your first time programming a game jam game!

Developer

Thank you for the kind words! I’m glad the atmosphere we wanted to convey in the game came across well!

Cool game. I think I got the wrong ending!

Developer

Thanks for playing!

Love the cats, unwilling to slay them.

Developer

Sorry about that! Thank you for playing though :)

Submitted(+1)

Very atmospheric, I really enjoyed it. I also like how one of the endings has a bullet hell.

I do have one question though: What did the white cats ever do to the player???

Developer(+1)

It's so funny, we never intended to offend people with the choice of sprite for the enemy - in all honesty, they're placeholders!! For the sake of time and scope we decided to keep them rather than do our own, but neither of us hates cats x) Thank you for playing!

Submitted(+1)

Don't worry, I was joking anyways

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing! I’m glad you found it atmospheric, it was a large focus of ours :)

This is so wonderful. I may have hit a bug at the end, but I'm actually headed /right back/ to play it through a second time!! Excellent Undertale vibe.

Developer

Thank you for playing, I’m glad you liked it! Could you describe the bug?

when I pressed Z to replay after i got the descend ending, it took me to one of the final corridors approaching the final boss and the avatar sprite kind of dashed left and was flickering like a ghost. sorry i didnt capture video or anything but i had to refresh the browser page. it never reproduced

Developer(+1)

Bizarre! Thank you for playing, I'm glad it didn't come up twice!

Developer(+1)

Oh no! Someone else reported a bug with similar behaviour that I couldn’t reproduce, I think it’s something about the web build. Thanks for letting us know!

Very cool art, the cats look very cute!

Ill be honest, in the first floor I did not understand what you meant by the "C" until I used the "C" key.  Because before I think the screen only mentions the keys to move and the space/z keys to interact. And also because the "C" kept running away from me! haha

Also the music is very relaxing, really nice.

All in all, really enjoyed it! :)

Developer(+1)

Hello! Sorry for the confusion. I think the main issue there comes from the fact that the player isn't supposed to anticipate needing an extra key for a new ability--it's part of our approach to the game overall, it's almost like a surprise when you need to use the C key. That said, clarity of use for the player is a great quality to firm up on, so thank you for the feedback!

oh its very cool, I love it. Music is so great and is helping the ambience! Very nice and innovative storytelling - I would love to see this expanded :D

Art is fitting and gameplay is solid as well! A very nice submission with nice story!

Developer

Thank you for your kind words! Glad the music and narrative worked well :D

Developer

Thanks so much for playing and for your praise <3

Cool! Wish it was longer!

Developer

Thank you for playing!

Developer(+1)

So do we, but turns out we weren't exactly pros at designing a super involved game in the 2 weeks allotted x)...room to improve though! Thank you for playing.

I liked the narrative element a lot, the music and sfx did a great job of setting a forboding ambience.  Good visual style and the mechanics had potential though I'd have liked to have seen more challenge in using them to solve puzzles or aid combat.  Really nice submission, good job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! I’m glad the narrative and audio aspect of the game shone through, because that’s what my teammate (narrative designer) and I (musician) were heavily focused on!

I agree with the gameplay being lacking in this, it was my first game so there’s a lot I can improve in that area for future games!

Developer

We could definitely have stood to make the gameplay and overall design a bit stronger, but my partner already mentioned the obstacles for our team this time around. Stuff to learn from for next time, definitely. Appreciate the honest feedback, thank you for playing! <3

I felt the gameplay part were a bit short and weak, but the ambiance, narration and story were great!

Overall I had a nice time!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! We were focused more on the ambience and story and didn’t have enough time to expand on the gameplay, but for future jams we’ll also try to make strong and responsive gameplay like the one in your game :D
