Very intuitive puzzle mechanics. You were able to combine the elements in a way were each level introduced something new. I particularly liked the simon one. That was unexpected.
Great job!
Sorry about the soft lock. I made a post about it and how to avoid it on this page but I think it got buried. Perhaps I should have put it on the main game page instead. I have already fixed it but I cannot update the game while the voting period is going on, unfortunately.
Thank you for playing though! It will be fixed the moment voting ends.
There is no actual checkpoint system. But you do open up shortcuts as you solve puzzles.
I wanted to have those larger torches for you to light up so you could permanently illuminate larger areas. But I totally understand how they could seem like they were supposed to be a checkpoint or something. That's very valuable feedback. Thank you!
From another person who made a game called POWERLESS with metroidvania elements, I approve! Haha.
I really like this. I appreciate that you showed us problems that we couldnt solve before we got the power to solve them. As soon as I saw that first long jump, I know I was in a metroidvania!
Nice job, very well put together!
Hey everyone!
I have found a dumb little design mistake in the last puzzle that may stop folks from progressing to the end of the game. Which is a shame because it is the VERY END! I have already fixed this issue but I cannot update the game during the voting period, unfortunately. So in the meantime, I thought Id share how to overcome it here so that if you made it that far you can actually see the end of the game!
I guess I failed...
Time for me to try again...
Loved this game. My first empire came to an end when I joined the Direct Current cult and lost everything. My second empire endured for a very long time with high power in both categories!
At a certain point the game just ended and said my kingdom came to an end due to lack of electrical power but at the time I had full political and electrical power. Is the the game supposed to end in this way after a certain number of letters signed? I really wanted to crush the Arc Duke.
(I also thought the font was a little hard to read sometimes. But that could just be me)
At any rate, I could definitely see playing a longer version of this game if the story progressed. Great job!
Extremely clever idea for a puzzle game. The simple levels were very engaging and fun!
I wish the puzzles focused more on the addition and multiplication, though. Once I started using ^2 the numbers became so big that I couldnt do the math in my head. So I was just figuring out which sequence of buttons I had to hit through trial and error rather than engaging with the puzzle.
Great job! Great presentation!
Great twist on the fighting game genre. I was just button mashing the combos at the start until I learned how to string them together. It was very satisfying to learn.
I feel like I would rather be button mashing with my right hand and executing combos with my left. Since the PC is using their right arm to wrestle and the button mashing was way more strenuous. I also think giving the Cartridge Change some more obvious visual/audio feedback would be nice. In the heat of a match it can be hard to tell if it went off.
The theming and humor were excellent. Fun game. Good job, everyone!
My forearms are tired now, thanks.
