Thank you?

I really love the spritework,  the enemies are tough and the only way I found I could defeat the 2nd & 3rd floors is by baiting them up and attacking from below since they wouldn't attack back when above you. Good game for under a weeks work!

I can't tell if this is a positive or negative review

Honestly a great vibe, wish I could play it for longer.

Currently working on a first person shooter but with design ideas taken from the likes of 'Tunic' and 'Outer Wilds'.

Definitely an improvement from the Jam game!

Maybe have the game last a couple more floors as I completed the game on my second run, also there is no cooldown on your weapon and most enemies can't get an attack out before being killed.
Overall could use polish but the concept and basic gameplay is there!

It's been a while since I've worked on it and I'm always working on other projects even if it doesn't look like it, but if there is more demand for it I'd definitely consider fully fleshing out this game as it still has some mechanics that aren't fully in the game yet and some Enemies in the files that just need to be added to the roster. I'd also add more in general, but at the moment not enough people care about this game to warrant me taking time off my current one.

Thank you for playing! I'll have a look at making those platforms a bit more reliable in an update!

Thank you so much for playing! And I do try to make simpler graphics still look good and I'm really glad how it came out!

Getting into the pattern of always submitting to a jam is good! Often times I probably had a playable game but didn't feel it was good enough to submit. So well done on submitting anyway as that part can be just as hard.

ah yes this isn't explained super well in-game but the Time saved from previous levels gets added onto the time of your current level, so if you're running out of time try beating the other levels faster too!

Ohh no problem that makes me feel a bit better to know, glad you were not discouraged then hah!

I think one thing that would help is a tiny pause between completing a word and going back to shooting to give people a little bit of time to reposition their hands, otherwise this game has a brilliant theme and everything feels good! Well done!

Glad you had fun and liked the grafics :p

I tried to make sure the first level at least was very welcoming to newer players with plenty of safe spots, only one obstacle to worry about at once and plenty of given time, I'm sorry the difficulty felt a bit overwhelming, if you could let me know what levels/sections/mechanics you found difficult I would be happy to look into it. Thank you for trying!

Thank you for playing! There should be a volume slider when you pause in a level but it might be a bit hard to see which is my fault lol. And glad you enjoyed! I managed to get playtesters who don't normally play these kind of games to make sure the difficulty was just right.

There's always a faster way!

It's technically my second platformer but the first one is not available for public, and this game actually would've been a little longer if I didn't start late as I found the Jam 5 days before submission and thought I'd still give it a go!

Also the Timers and Text colours are not correct in the HTML version which I think is an engine bug and not within my control. you are in fact supposed to be able to see what you're doing in the final Level lol.

The amount of colours and their effects was overwhelming and I stopped playing as I felt I wouldn't be able to progress without understanding it. The art-style is really charming though!

Weird but not bad controls. I think something as simple as making the bullets also wrap around the screen would make the game more fun and also make it more bullet-hell-like. Despite all that the game is surprisingly satisfying at times.

I found myself very often thinking I was going to land on a platform but just about missing by a tiny margin. The difficulty could ramp up a little slower and the rope could recharge just a bit faster as I would sometimes go to use it just for it to not happen.

You uh.. forgot to upload the game..

Controls are good and the spiral pattern is fun to dodge, although I didn't know what the goal was. The other ships aren't a threat and they drop collectables that don't have a purpose as far as I'm aware? Also a Health Display of some kind would've been nice. It's a good base to build a game off of.

Pretty good, only complaint is that lots of the bullets are extremely hard or impossible to dodge especially later on. But the game looks and sounds good. The enemy projectile hitboxes feel fair and the movement feels nice!

I finished playing another jam game while this one downloaded.  I think this game would've worked better from a top-down perspective, and having your mouse (the thing you aim with) be invisible and replaced by the green ball on a line made it hard to aim at where intended. And I think the weapon upgrades shouldn't despawn as in Hard mode they're basically required to progress.

I think this could benefit from an auto fire, and some sort of death animation for the boss at least as the ending is quite abrupt. Other than that, not a bad game.

I see that it has potential to be a game but it's not there yet. Also I drove off the edge and fell into the void.

If you're playing the HTML version the Countdown Timer is pure white for some reason, when downloaded it should be a lot easier to see what's happening. Thanks for the feedback! All the levels went thought many revisions to get the difficulty right but still allow mastery over a level so I'm glad it was appreciated. :D

Honestly the idea of ammo and health being the same is best used in this game. The scoreboard makes this very addicting, at time of writing I am 3rd place as 'Dorcat'. Amazing game, graphics are a bit simple but I understand working within your own art skills can be hard. Great job!

Had to try it out because you're awesome. :D

Maybe it was made for you? no one knows!
I'm honestly so glad you found it such a good fit!
Thank you so much :D

but if you play one more time you might get further and/or a better score :O
jokes aside I agree on the indicator idea I just worried it making lag a bit more so instead I did try to make sure most things can be reacted to easily.

Thank you so much for playing! I know that the main time mechanic isn't explained in-game very well so I'm glad you managed to catch on. Also loved your funky game too it was a little addicting lol.
(Edit : How did you get that score the best I can get is 2704900)

It does have a jump buffer of 10 frames but I now realise on higher refresh rates this might not be long enough. Thank you for enjoying! :D

Love the style and the simple gameplay, I just wish it got harder over time.

I would have played more but not being able to change to preferred mouse controls made this sometimes a bit nauseous to play with Y-Inverted and different sensitivities for X and Y.

If you like platformers, bullet hells and going fast you might like my game, I'm very proud of it! https://itch.io/jam/bullet-hell-jam-2023/rate/205903

Thank you! I did work a ton on making sure the Player feels good and fair to control.
And I see what you mean by the jarring camera movement as to make up for a more zoomed in camera, the camera doesn't follow behind you but ahead of you so switch directions means it has suddenly a lot to move. Thanks for the feedback! :D

Hi everybody in the comments! I'm the programmer of this game and honestly this was a hard one! I know there are a few game breaking bugs, lack of animations or not much variety.  And lots of the animations and assets were made for the game but it is from lack of time I wasn't able to put them in.

There is the game breaking bug where you can't move for whatever reason and I encountered this myself in creating the game and thought I had patched it out many times but it kept happening, so I am sorry about that, my bad. The art team members did an amazing job.

Congrats to anyone who avoided the bug for the full duration of this very short game and reached the End, or found the not very hidden secret.

Thank you for making me chuckle
