Hello, thanks for playing, happy that you enjoyed the game, i have noticed that the game really needs a difficulty selector so everyone can play it, i will have it in mind for a post-jam update, all the music in the game was made by JHawk Studios, they have a lot cool music assets, i used this one Encounters
Hello, thanks a lot for playing, you are absolutely right about the lack of depth in the weapon system, to be honest it was the part of the game i neglected the most during development, i was so focused on other systems that in the end i didn’t get to develop it as much as I wanted definitely one of my biggest regrets, this taught me that it's better not to implement something in a game unless it’s fully polished or complete, as it ends up being more of a negative impact on the overall game, thanks again for playing it makes me really happy that you enjoyed the rest of the game :)
My game was uploaded around week 2 i think, so there’s a good chance you played it back then, it makes me happy to hear you liked it, About the bosses, most people told me the game was actually too hard, so i made it easier because of that (and apparently, most people still think it’s too hard) guess you’ve got some skill haha, still thanks a lot for playing! :)
Hello, First of all, thank you for taking the time to try out my game and write this comment I'm glad that at least you found it interesting, I appreciate your feedback, and I believe that the weapon system could have been a lot deeper I gave each weapon some kind of ability (destroy enemy projectiles on the heavy sword for example), but in the end, I also felt that there was really no need to swap weapons since you can beat the entire game with the sword, I will try to make a post jam update to ThrowKnight to address some of these issues I've been noticing before leaving the game, since this is a game i did mostly to get experience on gamedev.
That said, thank you for playing :)
I'm glad you liked my game! I think the biggest problem I had was balancing the game. Since I playtested it a lot, the bosses felt easy to me because I knew everything about them. I’ll definitely take this into account for my next game.
Also, there’s actually a 4th boss you have to do something with the final chest to unlock it. ;)
Hello, thanks a lot for taking the time to play my game! I really appreciate your feedback, and you're absolutely right about the skulls in the mage fight. I had planned to fix that since I noticed it during playtesting, but I forgot to do it in the end, my bad! T_T
As for the bosses, they were actually scaled up using Aseprite's scale tool. Technically, the pixels are the same size, but since the original boss sprites were so small and because of the artstyle, it's hard to notice that they are properly scaled in game. I uploaded a screenshot from Aseprite so you can check it out.
And thank you again for taking the time to write this comment! :)
Edit: I really loved the mechanics of your game really satisfying and fun! Probably the game I enjoyed the most in this jam. :)
