thanks for playing! I was thinking of making minor adjustments here and there when I get the time :)

Good game overall, and the use of the theme is implemented well and works well with the aesthetic and vibe of the game. I do have a small criticism and it's the difficulty of placing objects down may need to be adjusted, as the physics of objects clip and break whenever it hits a collider like a wall. Other than that well done it was a good game!
The art and assets in general look very well made, I think it's a very good strong point to have.
However the game feels off in game play. The enemies go at the same speed as you and there's a bug where they won't get off of your head making it almost impossible to take damage or kill them, the camera is too skewed to the left making it hard to see what's coming up in the level, other then that I think the game can improve with time and effort and I hope to see more of your work in the future.
I think this could work with a bit of improvement, such as making it so the camera isn't so far to the right of the screen, making sure enemies are shooting you from a further range, and in level two the jump is almost impossible to do so you may have to tweak some things here and there but apart from that the game has potential.
Being completely honest I didn't enjoy it. I'm sorry, however below is my feedback if you're game below and what I think needs to be improved:
Unfortunately a lot of the art is very clashing and it's difficult to tell what's in the foreground and background. I also believe that the might be an error on the difficulty as collisions seem to happen when the player is very far away from the object that kills them. The coins also go up by 100 was that intentional? It is very jarring to see you immediately die, re spawn and music reset all in the same scene.
I do think it can be improved with time, work and as you grow as a developer!
let me just say I will rate your game and give an honest opinion on it when I get time, secondly I don't agree with your opinion on old school games so I'm going to keep the pixel affect and everything else about the aesthetic as is. The smash jump is intentional, you can also wall jump of you're on a wall and I agree about the slippery issue. But not everything can be optimized within the given time frame. I respect your opinion however so I'm not going to say what you said is wrong or right, thank you for giving it and thank you for your time.
I like the direction it's going in but it's a bit lacking in terms of design, the ambient sound is a bit too harsh on the ears and the bullet hole textures don't delete themselves so after a while if you have shot a lot the game starts slowing down a bit. However I do think it's possible to improve this project and I hope you enjoyed the game jam!
Yeah the music was a last minute addition because I didn't know what else to put in, however future songs are going to be more retro similar to something of Jet set radio, and the theme was originally going to incorporate more of a skater game vibe (kind of like Tony Hawks pro skater or Underground) but I didn't get the time.
Thanks for the compliments though!
The art was good but sometimes it was unclear what was in the foreground and what was in the background, also there isn't a clear indication on taking damage as the health bar isn't clear either. I think if I played more of it and it had more audio it would be an amazing experience, keep up the good work!
