Very cool! I love the idea of phasing through dimensions to move obstacles. It's a clever mechanic! It would be nice if the objects where moved with just the WASD keys though (maybe I'm missing something?) It kind of takes me out of the experience when I have to stop to move my hand off the mouse to use the arrows. Besides that, pixel art is good, idea great and overall a job well done :)

Thanks for the feedback! Yes that's something that could use a little love for sure :

Nice Game! I like the outline around the objects that help see what you're about to pick up. We actually had extremely similar concepts so it's interesting how others dealt with similar problems! If you'd like to see just how similar here's our project: https://experial83.itch.io/toddlers-break-things

We just missed the submission deadline so we can't participate any more but I think you still might appreciate it. Nice work!

Hello friends!

Looking to assemble an awesome team! I should note that I am trying to get in the games industry and I'm using this opportunity to seriously improve my portfolio. Respect for casual devs out there, just want to find like-minded and equally committed members to make something we can be really proud of!

Would like to get the following specialties on board. Let's chat if you are interested!

  •  2D/3D ARTIST for models, textures and UI. Or at least an enthusiastic environmental designer using paid assets.
  • GAME DESIGNER who can iterate on ideas quickly and isn't afraid to try new things
  • If you have other skills that you think would be applicable such as Narrative Design or Animation let me know!

Current Member Skills:

  • Gameplay programming
  • Audio Design

A bit about me:

  •  Gameplay Programmer with a few years experience in Unity and Unreal (although seeking to work in Unity)
  •  Understanding of programming game elements such as AI, Dialogue systems, questing, weapon systems and inventories
  •  Understand the fundamental maths and physics in 2D/3D gaming
  •  Knowledge in technical lighting and art and can write simple shaders in Cg

I love neon lights and quirkiness in my projects but I am open to just about anything! Check out my latest game jam submission at: https://experial83.itch.io/space-car-scramble

I've included a screenshot of my current personal project. Looking forward to meeting all you amazing people!

Hey thanks for giving it a shot! Yeah I was thinking about shimmery ammunition but I could have done more with the theme, I admit. But thanks for playing anyway!

Whoa awesome! That's a really nice thing to say! I will be watching the video with zeal haha. Thanks for playing man!

Thanks for playing! Yeah the controls take some getting used to but glad you had fun!

Haha thanks a lot! Neon is a thing for sure. Among some of the best things in games actually :) Thanks for playing!

Hey thanks for playing! Yeah I was having issues that I am only just now getting to the bottom of regarding the gamepad. Maybe I might patch in some controller use in the next couple of days. Thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing! Hmm that's interesting.. thanks for the insight. I'll think about that for next time :)

I really, really enjoyed this. Quite confused at first, especially as why the exit was blocked and what exactly I should do (until I realized I could shoot them through the window). But this game would feel right at home on an arcade cabinet . The art style is cohesive and stands out and I loved the music! Well done!

Thanks a lot! Really stoked that you had fun and managed to finish the game! That's awesome! And yeah neon is irresistible... thanks for playing!

Thanks for playing! Seeing as I never played Vigilante I should probably give it a try...

Thanks for giving it a shot! Means a lot that you had fun! Would have been cool to see your epic strats in action :)

Hey thanks for playing! Hmm perhaps a minimap or smaller area would have been better. Thanks for the comment!

Thanks for the feedback! I'll keep that in mind for next time!

Thanks for playing and for the feedback! You're right, perhaps controls could be made simpler :)

Nice work! The map is huge! It seems like there is a lot of gold to plunder :) I found that this was among the better implementations of pirate ship combat. While probably realistic, the boat moved a little slow for my taste. There were a number of typos as well which was distracting but other than that I really enjoyed your project!

Hey! Yes, windows and it wasn't the Run Anyway option that I'm talking about. It was a windows permission error that simply prevented me from opening it. Haven't had this issue with any other project so hopefully that was just a one-off thing!

Really cool atmosphere! The music was soothing and mysterious, I loved the fish-eye look and the UI is nice too. At first I was a little lost of what to do and I found myself getting stuck among the terrain but after a couple tries I started to really enjoy myself. Nice work!

Hey! Glad you got around to trying my game! Thanks a lot, and yes you are right, the enemies are too strong... tweaked it now, hopefully that should play nicer.

Thanks a lot! I appreciate you playing. Let's just say shiny weapons that are not to your benefit of touching :P

I appreciate the tutorial before wave 1. The graphics are neat and I like the side effect of the trees "melting" as they become rendered lol. The enemies and character models are well made/chosen. The controls were a little tricky to get used to. Good job!

By far, this is the game I've spent most time enjoying. The puzzles were quite clever and I enjoyed the experimentation that was required. This would be fun on mobile.  Aesthetically I would have liked to see a little more variety but overall this is a job well done!

Oh good technique! Definitely something to consider.

I like the idea! Not sure if it was intentional that the character keeps running to the left. I myself had issues of drifting only after building the project. This unfortunately made the platforming really tricky. I loved the snippets of dialogue but really had a hard time with it freezing the character because it forced me retry my jump each time.  Loved the dreamy mood though! Good job team!

Tried to play it but it wouldn't execute. Gave me permission warnings and I attempted to change security properties but alas I was not able to play. I recommend trying a WebGL build and embedding the game here in the browser.

Great job! Visuals are fun and the audio is well done too. Right off the bat I was impressed. The controls were my biggest issue though as I had to restart because I got stuck on a rock and it was hard getting the boat to go where I wanted.

Hey thanks for playing! Yeah I should have focused more on the free for all aspect. I wonder how to prevent the player from camping in a corner while they finish each other off. I need to look into this. Thanks man!

They are programmed to appreciate style. You probably took them off guard ;)

Hey! Thanks for playing. Yeah GetAxis() caused weird drifting only when I built the game so I was forced to hard code WASD. Definitely needs some attention. Really appreciate the feedback though!

Hey thanks for the feedback! I'll have to look into that, not sure why that might be. Glad you beat the game though! (I haven't haha)

Platforming felt fun and possessing had great potential. I had trouble getting past the first obstacle though.

I like the visuals. Nice work.

The gold collecting was fun and the music had a nice mood to it!

Thanks for the feedback! I'll have to take a look at that. Thanks for playing!

This one made me smile, thanks :) Enjoyed the colours and quirkiness of it.

Good work! I liked the sense of progression with the levels and the islands are neat. Would have liked to see an improvement of my weapons as I gained levels. Had fun though! Thanks!
