Glad that you got the meaning behind so many of the little things in the game!

Oop yea the coyote jump would have been a good idea (considering I was struggling with the jumps even as the creator of the game lol).  On the flip side I'm used to weighty jumps and increased the default gravity by a lot, but thanks for the feedback, I'll put these into consideration next time.

Also thanks for the tip on setting the resolution :D (i'm very new to Godot hahah)

:0 The game changer reference

Anyways, I really liked the game! It's nice how y'all implemented the different color palettes for (what I'm guessing is the identity of) each of the characters. The game mechanic is interesting, though I'm not sure whether I am supposed to: find the one right combination that everyone would like, or make different versions that would cater to a specific person to coax out their dialogue. I guess the latter makes more sense but I feel kind of bad when someone that I wasn't targeting the tea towards doesn't like their tea :p.

Still, great game. I'm impressed by how much dialogue and options there is to explore for a game made over a weekend.

Thanks for the kind words!

I felt I was too new to godot to have created a complex mechanic in a few days without overscoping so I stuck with something easy to code. Sadly means I have no idea how to make the teacup easier to control though 😅.

All teacups are teacups indeed :)

Glad to hear that!

The game was pretty cool :D

Out of all the jam games I think I spent the longest on this one (which is a good thing given my poor attention span) The listening to audio only mechanic is really interesting and I liked it a lot. I also sort of went to your git page to take a look at the level maps as I was trying it out :P

The game is really unique though I kind of looked dumb sitting before a pc staring at a blank screen for nearly half an hour hahaha. Great job with the game!

Thanks :D

Aw I guess not everyone would be a fan of text hefty games, but I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for playing :)

Awesome game! It has a really unique mechanic compared to others in the jam and it's execution is great. The puzzles are really interesting while the graphics and audio really fit, great job!

Thanks!

Thanks! :)

I hid an Easter egg that can only be found by looking through my game's scripts in github before being entered in game since I hard coded some content and their answers.

(I think its impossible to find it through clues in game unless you know there is such an easter egg or if you were just playing around with it and somehow found it)

It turned out to be well suited in Game Off, being a github organised jam and all...  :P

Link to my game

Ah I see. I tried to pick suitable color palettes from online resources but I'll keep that in mind.

The checkmark is used to enter a new link, (in which pressing enter works too) while pressing connect is connecting to the same link which would cycle through to old and new conversations.

I guesss I could have simply have had the connect button everything would be simpler. :P

The feedback was really useful, thanks :D

Thanks for the feedback, I guess the context was a little odd since I'm not a particularly good storywriter :P The amount of unexplainable irony in this game is incredible heh

When you mentioned that the UI was a little tough to look at, did you mean the text (size or font) or the design of it (like colour and arrangement) or something else?

Glad you enjoyed it though :)

Thanks for the feedback! When I was attempting to find playtesters, the opinions were mixed on a spectrum of being too hard otherwise being too easy, so I decided to solve the game being overly hard since that wouldn't be particularly enjoyable to for many. I suppose there weren't really branching paths since its was just a red herring or too along the way, but I would have loved to add some of those to make the game much more interesting than it currently is.

Thank you! :D Ah a copy and paste function could indeed be really helpful, I'll probably add it in another update, thanks for the feedback!

Thanks for playing! I'll work on a fix for the text after the jam since its nothing major. I appreciate the feedback :)

Thanks for playing hahaha. I needed a reason for having those AI - like voices since I'm a terrible voice actor myself (heh). And I figured it left the game to have the possibility to be expanded upon which was a nice plus too :)

Thanks! Glad you liked it :D Your team's game's mechanic is pretty interesting too, with the interpretation of bug in a contextual way. It was really fun playing it.

Thanks for playing the game! Yep there was only one ending. I would really like to have added extra paths to the game as it would probably have given people more things to explore I suppose, like trying to expand off the fixed story storyline with a few more red herrings too.  Really glad that you enjoyed the game :)

(1 edit)

This game was a joy to play. I really like the unique mechanics of the game, with bugs being the player's vision and way to access the world. And its really fun to litter the level with bugs as I'm trying to figure a solution out. :P

The game was an extremely interesting one to play and I think it has a lot of potential to be expanded upon. However, a thing that felt a little finicky was the jump the player has as it was limited in height, making it a little hard to jump across platforms in time. (Or it could be intentional design I don't know)With a few improvements, the game would become even better, great job!

Thanks for playing!

I've been afraid that the game might be a little too hard to figure out at first so I added pop-ups in response to that.  I've had a lot of ideas for the game which faced limitations being a jam game, and I might work on it if the response from the jam is good.

I really appreciate the feedback. :)

Thanks!

Thanks for playing!

Glad to hear that! I didn't even realise some bits could be copy and pasted and got worried if some information were too complex to transfer :P

Thanks! Yep, though its slightly over exaggerated, its true to the extent that we can be exploited to such degrees.

Thanks.

Absolutely fantastic game! The mechanics are awesome and the concept is really cool. I really like the cute graphics and catchy tune. The game truly has a lot of potential, well done!

Awesome game! The graphics and audio were great, and the concept is really unique. I had a lot of fun playing it, and I think it has potential. Great job!

Great game! The concept is pretty simple but also very well executed. The graphics are cute looking and I really like them. I managed to finish the game after several tries. Nice job!

Great game! The choice to take "it's not a bug, it's a feature" is really clever. The game does a great job at executing this idea of a "bugged" game. The graphics are really cute and I like the added touch of having the typical annoying narrator in the game. A piece of feedback would be to play the voice over just the first time the level is played. It gets frustrating to hear the voice repeatedly since I died a lot in the levels where the player can get killed, Otherwise, the game is fantastic, nice job!

Thanks! :D

I really liked this concept which made this a joy to create, glad to hear someone else liked it too :D. Thanks for playing!

Great game! I really like the unique mechanics of literally combating bugs. The graphics and audio are awesome and I really like the aesthetic. The game really has potential, well done!

Thanks! I might re work the mechanics after the jam :)

Thanks for playing! :D

Great game! It is really unique to see this kind of game out of all the mechanics I've played with so far. The graphics were cute and the worm was really fun to control. Nice job!

Thanks for playing the game! I'm glad you liked the art hahaha. Some parts may be over exaggerated but there are truly people in the world who take cyber security for granted :P. I wished I had the chance to do the voice overs myself but they're from online text to speech AI voices. (Just realised I forgot to change that part in the credits)

The bug database was pretty bugged. xD  I was trying to fix the problem of overloading the text display when it gets spammed and only managed to limit some parts of it. I'll be sure to fix it after the jam.

Really appreciate the feedback you gave!

The game is really interesting! The concept is unique and yet really well executed. It's nice to explore the level and "spot the odd one out" to proceed with the level. The game has potential to be expanded upon, nice job!

Nice game. The concept of bugging the guards to obtain information is pretty cool, though some conversations felt a little random and could have been better transitioned to? (in my opinion :P) But other than that the game is really interesting. It took me some time to realise I could literally stand directly in front of the guard to avoid getting caught which is a little queer heh. Good job though, the game really has potential to be expanded upon.

This was a great game being one from a game jam first timer! The audio and graphics were really good and the mechanics was really interesting and fitting to the theme. It takes some strategy to it, like saving coins etc which makes it fun too. A disappointing thing is that I can't save bugs that were alive from the previous round to continue on to the next round, but it could be a game design choice I suppose. Nice job!
