Actually quite nice! I'm not an artist myself but it would really fit the game.

Rachet is a cool guy and he shall get his moment soon.

Sure! @GenRexar Although I barely used Twitter in the last 8 years. Maybe I'll do something with it after the Game Jam is over so I can finally update my game.

Glad you enjoy my game, and fanart is fine. :)

Yup, understandable. I really wanted to mimic the pitch black atmosphere like Amnesia: The Dark Descent or Outlast where also your lantern or flashlight had a duration. I guess for RPGMAKER it's quite harder to translate to and get around. I will address more save points and allowing the player to return to the game after the Game Over scene. Will definitely add more unique enemies. I doubt I want to remove the one hit, however, considering this game is about limited visibility and looking ahead and avoiding enemies rather than lose HP then run away type of deal.

Thank you for the generous feedback and for playing the game!

Thank you, yeah I hear that the game overs is quite annoying and so I will fix that. I'm glad that the atmosphere is tense for you which is the intention and that you enjoy the characters.

I will fix the lighting, and also glad that you enjoyed some of it! It was definitely bad on my part for making the game overs, I did want it challenging but I guess I overdid it for everyone else.

Anyways, thanks for playing and leaving a comment.

Thank you! I appreciate the extensive feedback and for playing the game. I will do my best to look over these, especially reworking the lighting and actual combat. At first, I only wanted a no-fighting back type of a hard horror game, but I changed my mind and added little combat flexibility (All in-RPG battle mobs had to be killed using the item CFlashlight) which is definitely unfair for the player. I will definitely tone down the ghosts and rework how they encounter the player. Of course, some bugs are to be found and I intend to crush them

Again, thank you for taking the time to give strong feedback. This game was the best I could do in under a month independently, and I'm proud to do more to improve on it.

Haha, thank you for playing and leaving a comment! I will definitely adjust the lantern's radius and make the game a lot creepier ;)

Also, a holy hand grenade? I plan to have horror bosses to fight so that's a great idea!

Thank you for playing! I can't wait to share future chapters for more spooky gameplay!

I'm glad you felt that way! I really love the classic-style horror-RPG games and so I thought I should make one for myself.

First impressions are great,  the title screen is literally anime-worthy of a shounen show. Music is quite fitting too.

Now into the game, it plays almost like a visual novel which I really love. The story is easy to follow as it's paced quite well and information is given in a short amount. The options to search and make decisions is great for player of freedom and interaction. I also like the characters personalities, again with the anime-like characteristics and such. KUSO!!! As they say. You also made a great effort in creating different busts for different expressions. The use of background pictures and contrast between text and characters is well thought out. The SFX and background music are well-used too appropriately and transition nicely.

Combat-wise, actually well made. Profile faces and different icons look personally crafted. I appreciate the different attack animations with character art in them.  Fighting a giant snake never felt so anime before.  Although the battle menu is simple, the complexity behind each ability is thought out when fighting, especially in the many different fights. Do you want to hit them hard? Sure, apply defensive buffs and charge up a few times to do an ultimate attack move. Or debuff the enemy and hit them swiftly. Also, my favourite fight had to be commanding the force against the snake, really nice to play.

Next, world exploration. I love how you gave opportunities to interact with NPCs and stuff before heading to main events, while also changing NPCs when events do occur. Great for the player to understand the world a bit more with their freedom. Instead of a character sprite when exploring, you used well-thought icons to differentiate events.  A great idea that I might steal for future projects.

Feedback, although I haven't finished playing, the game is impressive. Things I would work on would be more difficult fights like the first snake encounter but make it less HP sponge. I would incorporate a guard/dodge system where you need to dodge or block certain attacks to avoid certain death. Also, minor spelling mistakes, such as "soilder" when using Rally other skills and "Undesireable" Snake Head.

Overall, great anime about beating evil snakes. Needs a season 2 against an evil frog or something.  5/5. Looking forward to seeing more great work and talent in the future. Good luck in winning!

A nice dramatic and animated start to a hard-hitting title card. Music is on point with the theme.

Different choices on who to play? Nice! I myself, like to play Yvellin cos he's a knight-class type of guy. In fact, this reminds me of Dark Souls, which I think is probably the biggest inspiration with the campfire system and chalky and dystopian art style. I like how you included unique battling actor animations and chalky character faces to each. Enemies look cool as well with the consistent art style. The soundtracks add a lot to the atmosphere which is enjoyable to listen to and playthrough. I liked how you also included lore parts when exploring which allows the player to understand what the world is like. Exploring many routes and having different encounters is well appreciated and fun so it doesn't become stale after a while, being a rogue-lite.

My feedback is to add more to the combat system, although this is quite vague. I feel like there's something missing at the start. Maybe dodge, guard or some risk-reward type of thing. I would love to also know more about the world, so adding more exploration areas and interactions would be a killer.

My rating for this game will be 4/5. Great effort and strong imagination to a brilliant game. Will look forward to more of this.

As an individual creating games with RPGMAKER, it's definitely hard to source your own work that's for sure. Art, story, character busts, music, mapping and so much more is a lot to take in as a sole person especially in just the span of a month. But it's a sign of hard work and effort that I appreciate from anyone when participating in these Jams.

First impressions, not bad. Although it is the default title screen and such, I appreciate the drawn character busts and different menu music. A different or painted original title screen would do better. I liked that you gave difficulty levels.

Into the game, I loved the characters sprites and busts and the effort into creating these. Story is easy to follow along and the knight-like setting is great, though I would love to interact with the environment more, like the graveyard. Sound design-wise, there can be further improvements. I would appreciate footsteps, original transitions SFX and more. Mapping and transitions are decent and can be adjusted.

Combat-wise, it's great and has a lot of potentials. I see that you made your own battling animations for characters and enemies which is great to see! Enemies have a lot of work in them too. Although I was lost by the number of skill types and didn't know what boost did at first.

I will play more after I review a few others.

Overall, I'm giving this a strong 3/5. You have a lot of room to improve and I'm hoping to see what you do in the future! Please keep going strong and follow your heart.

Already, from the start. Cute and colorful art style with a popping soundtrack. Good first impressions.

A well-animated start with player choices, dialogue is clear and the story is easy to follow along.

Interactions are funny and cute, why would a monkey think a pretty flower would be delicious to eat?! The menu design is beautifully arranged, and the tileset and mapping have the same cute art style that is aesthetically unique and consistent. Exploring this game is very satisfying and I'm given many options which gives a lot more freedom. (rip mouse, I knew that owl was sus.)

Feedback, this is more likely my taste but, I would love an option to do a... horror twist and make everything the opposite of cute at some point in the game. Of course, this would be a choice or consequence that the player makes.

Overall, a chill game that I would love to talk to all the animals and relax to. 5/5. Looking forward to seeing and talking to more unique and personalised animals. I better see a frog when I come back to play the game after I review other games. Hope to see furthermore with this talent!

Another high-quality game *sigh*, I am truly being blown to the waters.

First impressions, awesome menu and flare of art style. Music also bopping.

Into the game, cutely drawn characters and sprite, great animations and sound design. Parallax mapping is always good to see and is high quality.  Unique menu-style. Branching choices and a cool sci-fi story to follow along. Everything looks very consistent and well-made to the player's eyes and interaction.

Feedback, none other than more detail within the ship and that sort of stuff. (I am going ahead to cry and knowing that my game is not going to win by playing these passion-driven games to soak my sorrows in.)

I look forward to the full release. 5/5. Will play more after more reviewing of other games. Please continue to pour in more love to this game!

Ate everything. Was satisfied. Epic game. First impressions are amazing.

A simple yet aesthetic art style.

A beautifully crafted world.

An enjoyable gameplay experience of being Kirby.

A nice simple story (eating everything is a story too).

Chill music and bit-like sound design.

Boss Fights. (die giant slime)

Feedback? What's that? I only wanted more food. (I'm disappointed in myself, next time please lower your standards a little bit, I actually want a chance in winning this competition :D jk.)

Blown away from what you made, 5/5. Will play more after I review more games. Please continue to make games like these in the future.

Really high-quality stuff, at the moment I started the game I was already impressed. The menu looked great with the fuzzy animation, music and sound design was phenomenal and even language options.
Great drawn character sprites and busts, unique tilesets and mapping, dialogue is perfectly crafted, and (obviously not bias) a great genre to work on, being a story-horror game. By the time I went into the park and suddenly everything went horror-like, I was still amazed. Everything is definitely made with passion and love into it.

For my feedback, I feel like the noise that the horse-enemy played was kinda obnoxious every time I entered a new area, as it spooked me every time because I felt like there was a real horse behind me or something. Not like that's a bad thing but the first time experience is definitely out-of-this-world. I was also kinda lost after the chase started, but I loved the adrenaline sprinting around the map jamming to the chase music.

These are the type of horror games I look up to, although I'm quite disappointed that this will 100% beat my game, despite a month's effort. Oh well, amazing horror game 10/5. I will continue playing after I review more games, and maybe suggest more feedback cos I got nothing more!

I look forward to what you do in the future with this game and other projects. Keep on the awesome stuff! If you win first place, you definitely deserve it! As a big big big fan of horror-games!

I am stupid and cannot solve the first puzzle. You have bested me as I cannot figure out what direction the blonde woman looks at with the cryptic hint. 5/5 Stars. Keep up with the 200 IQ puzzles, someday you'll be the best puzzle maker. For real feedback, I would like to see some original work such as drawn characters or any of the sort. Overall, I really laughed at myself for not being able to solve the first puzzle.

Keep on creating, friend. (3/5 Stars)

It's like Stardew Valley, I love the gardening system and all. Minor things to patch would be spelling and sound design. For example "gradening" when I had to plant the Lily Seeds, and drawing water doesn't have a splash or water sound. I love what you did with the map design and default assets as it looks and transitions nicely. The main feedback would be to work on creating a more planned out start with more in-depth cutscenes as I felt lost at nearly the start of the game so I was forced to look at the bookshelf.

Keep on improving and you'll get there!

Really nice straight-forward plot, although I don't understand the story myself. It is really thought out with the art style and design. Also the amount of diverse and unique characters is really awesome.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed my favorite scene aswell!

Wow, thank you playing the game! I'm amazed by your acting! I'm glad you're enjoying the game in such an unique way XD.
