Fun game! Really interesting interpretation of the theme and great execution! A couple of suggestions: I think that a little bit of game juice could go a long way here; I also think that some sort of indicator of when you lose health (eg. a hurt sound and some particle effects) could be really helpful.

All in all, great job! Be proud!

Fun, cute overcooked-like game! Great graphics and nice sound effects (I especially love the knife) I also love the interpretation of the theme. The game is relatively easy to pick up, but if it there was more time to build I would love to have seen a tutorial within the game that builds the game up a little bit more.

All in all though, great job!

Interesting game!

Really nice game! It was tricky to get started, but once I got into it, it is really fun! Sound effects are great and I LOVE the cute pixelart.

Great job! It has a lot of potential, I'd definitely get a full game of this if it had some more mechanics and depth. Be proud!

Great little game! Fun in a Getting Over It sort of way. Honestly, with a few more levels and a little variation on the mechanic, you would have a full game that I would play.

As an aside, the little click sound for the edge of the ashtray is a really nice touch.

Nice job!

I want more!!! I was skeptical at first: can this one mechanic really make for a lot of good puzzles? Boy did you prove me wrong. Very well done, with clever solutions and interesting variation on the base mechanic.

Good job. Be proud!

This is definitely an interesting game! I did find the occasional bug as mentioned by others, but you had me playing for a good while. Good job!

This is a really interesting and unique idea for the game! I would say that it is confusing to understand what the impact of my actions will be. All in all, good job!

Ahh, I see. Yeah we have it tell you what the die will be if you move in that direction instead of what the sides of the die are. It used to actually show what the sides were, but we reversed it for simplicity's sake.

Are you referring to the intro flavor text on the itch.io page? If so, that is a thematic description of the game.

If not, I'm not quite sure what you are talking about? Have you read through all of the Jack's introduction dialogue using the C key?

(1 edit)

Really interesting idea and really wonderful and clean execution. The polish is really nice and I just love those sound effects and the little touches, like the platforms lowering. The simple art style is calming. Although the game is missing music, I actually do like it how it is now, and the wrong music could ruin that feeling.

The puzzles are nice, especially the last one: it makes you think a little bit! I do think that some of puzzles, namely 1 and 2, can be solved just by inferring from the level design that you have to go there because that's the only way you can go, instead of doing the interesting thinking about dice rotations, This is fine for starting levels, but in the context of the few number of levels, it can feel off.  Though, I had fun playing this. Of course I wish there were more levels, but designing puzzles for this seems tricky and like it would take up time you don't have in a jam, so completely understandable. Perhaps another mechanic that plays off this could spice it up?

There does seem to be a glitch with the detection of holes: if you match a spot, but a rotation to move will make the platform disappear, you can still move, and you fall through and restart, as opposed to when you don't match at all, and it simply does not let you move. Either way is fine, but it feels strange being inconsistent, especially given that you can't walk off a platform and fall in a different way.

A side note, I am a big fan of your main menu design.

All in all, great game with really nice, clean graphics and juicy sound effects!

This is a really unique concept and great execution! It has a bit of a learning curve, but once you get into it, it becomes quite fun.  The indication of where the die will be if you pick a direction is really helpful and a really great touch.

One thing I would suggest is spicing the game up a bit more visually. I love green, but there is a lot of it. One way you might do this is by having different colors for different sections of levels, perhaps that are thematically linked.

I also think that once you get stuck in the game, it can be hard to get unstuck without iteration, so it could be helpful to have an undo button and a quick restart button.

All in all though, awesome job! Good work!

Yep, this is definitely true. Thank you for rating and giving great feedback!

Yeah, the last level can get reallly slow. The enemies really should all jump at once. Thank you!

Thank you!

You're definitely right about prioritizing and that the game can be confusing. Thank you!

Thanks for the kind words!

Thanks! Yeah, we wish we had time for a more in-depth tutorial.

Thanks!

Thank you! I also love his design! The dialogue skipping is definitely needed, if only we had 5 more minutes...

Aww! Thanks!

Thank you!

Thank you! Great video!

Great job! Love the Downwell inspiration. Crazy and awesome that it was made in Scratch.

Perfect

I really enjoyed playing this game. Although the system is simple it's still really fun to mash the attack button. I would suggest improving the audio a bit and more intuitive controls, but all in all, great job!

This is a great game and an awesome mix of cooking and paper please. The polish really made it fun to cook. Great work!

I really like the artstyle and the polished. Great idea, great execution.  Good work!

Great and fun game! Good job. One suggestion would be to add some more game feel for shooting and hitting enemies to make it feel super impactful.

Great job and great concept! I had a great time playing it!

Great game I really liked the physics of wrecking the house! One thing is that the beginning is kinda long and unskippable, so it would be nice if you could fast forward through it.

This is a great and really fun game. The puzzle designs are so clever!

This is an awesome game, I had a blast playing it! It's polished and feels great to play, it was confusing at the beginning, but I figured it out pretty quickly.  The art is also really great. Super impressive work!

If you're stuck at the glitch worm in the tutorial section, you have to click space after you're done reading the text, to progress to the next dialogue line. Also, I'll be sure to check out your game.

You have to click space after you're done reading the text, to progress to the next dialogue line, for the enemy section.

This is an awesome, really clever approach to the theme! The amount of puzzles and variations on the core concept is impressive, and although some were a little trickier than others I had a blast beating the game. Also, the ghost indicator of where you shot is a really nice touch and I love the idea for the menu. Great job!

Great job! Interesting concept. I would love it if there were more moves (like special moves) that you could do with combinations. All in all, great work!

i think incognito tabs could break it if you're using one of those

hmm, that's weird
