Hey, thank you so much for the nice comment, and for taking the time to write some feedback, I really appreciate it.

Honestly, I totally agree on the controls, I had the same issue when playing it myself and never really got used to it either, I just didn’t have any great idea so far. I considered taking strafing out all together, but not sure if that would maybe make the movement too annoying.

Yeah, so the other bar, the blue one, is like the ships energy and is used when moving, firing etc. but also when its above 80% the ships health regenerates and the fuller it is the faster the secondary ammo is recharged. I wanted to add some sort of strategic element with it but I also realize this is not explained anywhere, I should at least write a little manual somewhere.

As of now the game actually doesnt end, I didn’t quite manage to finish it. There was supoosed to be a boss at the end, which I’ll add some day, but for now the difficulty scales up to a maximum and then spawns the same enemies over and over.

I mostly did this as a little exercise but its encouraging that you had fun playing it. If I find the time I will continue to work on it.

Cheers and thanks again and have a great time.

A couple of days ago I released one of my first none-jam games called Parallax Vector. A fast-paced little arcade style space-shooter, with auto-battler-roguelike elements. One unique design feature of Parallax Vector is the Energy System which affects many aspects of gameplay and that adds a strategic element to the game.

Originally I created the game as a challenge for myself to make a game in one week, since I wanted to pratice keeping scopes small and making releases. Since the release, two feature updates have been posted but the game is still in early stages of development, but definitely playable.

So far the game features

  • fast-paced spaceship shooter action
  • primary weapons and torpedos
  • 5 different types of enemies
  • 2 different kinds of drones
  • a dozen different power ups
  • difficulty scales as time progresses

Very cute game, incredibly wholesome story, and I like the paper-mario-esque mix of 3d world and 2d actors. Music is really chill and cozy. Great work!

Nicely detailed little pixel-art town to explore, the music is a great fit. Well done!

I really love the combination of rain and music, there is totally something cozy about biking home in the autumn rain. The graphics have this nice retro vibe and all in all its a very pleasant experience. Also, +1 for Godot :)

Wow, this is really detailed and a lot of fun figuring out the potions from the various books etc, that and the tavern vibe make it feel pretty cozy. Also I’m impressed with the audio and general polish of this submission.

Well done, nice use of the color palette, the pixel-art is really good. Also like the music and that you made it all yourself. On the 5th day the cafe made more money in one second than the annual GDP of the US. :D

Very relaxing game with the music and the patterns and colours, feels quite cozy actually.

Tough little game, but very satisfying to play. I really like the music and art. Great work!

I played this way to long, its strangely mesmerising with the lo-fi music and all. Also I like the concept of launching coffee at grumpy people to cheer them up, very cozy :D

Well made game and fun to play, music and art make it feel kinda cozy. Very nice entry.

Wow, this is super cute, and an interesting twist as well. Really cool game.

quite relaxing, playing around with the leaves is fun and satisfying. Also I love that this was made with pico-8

This is a cool unique experience, very creative, nicely polished and I did not expect voice-acting. Overall great game.

Everything about this game is incredibly cute. Really liked the art and music. Very nice work!

Super cute game, fun to play, the music actually makes it feel cozy.

Quite engaging and not as easy as I thought. Music is pretty cool.

Interesting little game with the random endless rooms and all. I really like the music and the polish on this, really cute pixel art and the light effects and falling leaves make it quite atmospheric.

Definitely cozy and very cute game.

Very nice and engaging little game, also really like the details and overall cohesive look.

This is an insanely cool game, the art is super cute and cohesive, the narration and events are terrifying, I absolutely love the combination of roguelike-monster-rpg. I think this game has a lot of potential, if you take this further I would totally buy this game. Edit: Probably my favourite game from the jam so far

I like a good tower defense game and this is a good tower denfense game. I probably played this the longest of all the jam entries.

Yeah, so sorry about that, I might still have a couple bugs in there. I kinda ran out of time, didn’t do a last playtest and was just like “ehh, its gonna be fine”..

Thanks, I really appreciate it.

Yeah sorry about that, it should probably read “immediatley next to water”, but I might have also borked the mechanic. I’ll try to rethink the whole thing a bit after the jam.

Super cute boss battle game. Tight controls and gameplay, crisp pixelart, overall quite enjoyable.

Fun to play and really gives you that retro feeling.

Really cool game, great concept and amazing pixel art, totally loved it.

Thank you for the nice words, it means a lot to me, its my first published game :) I totally agree on the grass, I also noticed that its kinda uncomfortable to walk through it. I want to clean up a bunch of things after the jam anyways.

Thank you for your kind words, I really appreciate it. I’ll see if I can put together a list of the tweaks I made to make it run smoother.

Excessively cute game. I like the Links Awakening vibe of the art

Great little platformer, feels really nice to play. The music is especially cozy, totally my vibe.

Fun little tower defence game, the pixel art is really cute and crisp.
