I really enjoy the concept for this game, you are both the player and the obstacle. I really enjoyed it, thought it could get a little frustrating at times, especially when I found out in the last level I could’ve been double jumping the whole time. I think the metrics of the game were off slightly, I could never really get a read on how high the player could go when they jumped. I really like the art, and the dash was super fun to play around with. Overall a solid submission with some really great work!

Thanks so much for playing! I get what you mean about the rewind taking a long time, I should’ve capped its saved time to a lot shorter (it saves for like a minute). I wanted to stop it when it arrived at its final location, but couldn’t in case a puzzle depended on things moving at a certain time, and red platforms don’t always have a final location. And yeah, the conveyors need improvement.

Wow, this game is so cool! Instantly understood how to rewind before even using the mechanic. Movement, for the most part, was really tight, only wall-jumping seemed a little off to me. I threw me a little that the character could wall-jump from the ground, and then I had to hold towards the wall when jumping off it. Once I’d gotten used to it, it was fine however. The art is fantastic, and the audio is lovely and really fitting. The puzzle progression felt good, and I liked how you turned the bar at the top into a time attack/management puzzle, although originally I was getting killed by it and didn’t know it existed, I don’t know if there is a way to make it more obvious (honestly it doesn’t matter). Excellent project, thoroughly enjoyed it!

Thanks so much for playing! Your kind words are appreciated C:

Fun concept/story, and I like the simple pixel graphics. The wind-up indicators in the bottom right weren’t particularly useful as I had no way of knowing how long on was. Puzzles felt fine for a game jam, and while the movement could be a little slow I think it added to the overall feel of being a little windup mouse. Also personally I’m never a fan of floating text telling me what to do/making comments about the level, part of the pun of playing a game is figuring out what I can and can’t do. Overall though, a solid entry, nice work!

hey guys, my game is sitting on 18 ratings at the moment, would be fab to push it to 20 so i don’t have to keep thinking about it! Rate my game and I’ll be sure to rate yours!! https://itch.io/jam/brackeys-4/rate/723281

Thank you so much! Really appreciate your feedback. Physics could definitely use some work.

I really like the concept of this game, and the art is really nice. I wish there was a way to speed up time since I found myself waiting to age quite a lot. I really enjoyed the mechanic of things changing as you aged (like the tree), and I just wish the levels had contained more of this idea, rather than man punch ghost, baby go under spikes, old man win level. Overall though, I thought this was a really good entry, and encourage you to keep working on this. (Also the setting is really sweet, and as someone whose relatives have had dementia, really resonated with me)

Thanks so much for playing! That level is trying to show the player that they just have to touch the red side of the platform to move with it, but I’ll admit that isn’t very obvious.

Thanks so much for playing! I’m cursing myself for not capping out the rewind states sooner so that wouldn’t happen.

For the animation I just used Unity’s inbuilt Animator. I chopped up the characters into head, body, arms, etc, and then animated them. The transitions between the animations are all Unity.

Definitely in agreement that the 3rd stage is too hard. I’m saving my rewind position to the peak of my jump and then trying to get some momentum up by jumping and quickly teleporting back but I just can’t seem to get high enough.

I like the cog/gear particles that fly out of the player though, and the rewind orb growing back inside the ball is a really nice touch.

Thanks for playing! The idea is you stick to the red side of the platform no matter which way up is when you rewind. I’ll admit though it doesn’t always look intentional.

This is such a great game! Great concept and some great puzzles. Only criticism I would give is that there were a couple of levels where I was really guessing where to put myself back to (I think 5 and 10) because I couldn’t see where I was going/what buttons were doing. But then again this is level design from a week’s work and the rest of the levels are fab, nice job!

Character is cool, leaves me wanting a few more animations! I think there could be some more clarity in your levels, such as where the buzz saws will turn/when an enemy can actually see you, but there’s a lot of good stuff in here. Nice game!

The game looks super cute, and it’s cool that you have different enemy types that actually function differently. I’d say the crows come in a tiny bit too fast, you have to preempt them sometimes, but it’s a fun top down shooter. Nice work!

Cool game, would’ve been nice to have the player go a touch faster perhaps, and maybe some kind of ghost/outline so that the player knows where they’re rewinding back to because I found that hard to judge. Nice stuff in there though :)

Ooh, I see! Yeah, I totally agree. It needs something extra to let the player know what’s going on.

Really love the humor in this game, it’s a fab idea. I think the platforming could be a little friendlier, and I got stuck after I went through the 3rd door, but overall I really enjoyed the game.

Thanks so much!

Glad you liked it! By autoplay zones do you mean the end scene? It was supposed to be more of a cutscene.

Thanks so much :)

Thanks :D

Hey guys, just trying to bump visibility of my puzzle platformer:

I’ll rate everyone who replies to this thread and encourage everyone else to rate each others!

Thanks so much for playing! I’ll definitely look into making the mechanics smoother.

Ah, I’m sorry to hear that! Thanks for playing though, that level seems to be a common trap.

First off, the game looks fabulous. The puzzles are pretty interesting, sometimes hampered by the speed of the character. Still, super impressive in terms of what was done in the time, great job!

Really cool concept! Levels could get finicky at times, but overall was a fun experience.

Interesting concept and play on the original. I agree with other comments that it could do with some beautifying, but otherwise a fun game.

Interesting idea to control things that effect the object you’re trying to protect rather than the object itself. Solid theme, nice work!

Interesting having to physically move between cranking and flying. Nice game!

Cute game. The jump felt a little small, but a nice platformer overall.

Interesting concept with some really cute graphics. Great job!

Interesting concept with some mechanics. Nice work!

Interesting idea with a cute robot. One thing that confused me when I started were the little red bits on the enemy robots heads look like buttons and, I assumed it meant you could jump on their heads to deactivate them or something, and I had no idea it was damaging me until I died.

Really cool game! Great theme, great graphics, great feel. Rewinding into enemies feels super satisfying.

The sprites/animations are so good! A really interesting take on the theme.

Thanks so much for playing :)

Thanks so much for playing! And I fully agree with your controls comment, wish I’d changed it before submitting it.
