We aren't planning on expanding it at all, but, if we were, I think we would experiment with simple enemies that worked with the core mechanic, like enemies that would disappear if you touched them while big, similar to the goombas and koopas in Super Mario Bros in philosophy. I'm not really sure if enemies would be fun, or what enemies would be fun, but that's where we'd start experimenting.
It's a cool idea, I love playing as a plant. although, it's pretty difficult and feels very luck based, it felt like if my nutrients happen to be my biggest problem, there isn't anything I can do because of how expensive fibrous roots are and there not being an alternative way to get nutrients. If there was a cheaper way to get nutrients, I think this would be a really solid game! (Perhaps you could add mycorrhizal fungi, or nitrogen fixing root nodules)
