The game is very well made in a lot of aspects:

The VHS filter is very good;

Your team captured very well the essence of the backrooms;

The audio effects aren't thaaat scary, but they surely are disturbing.

10/10. Nice game!

Thanks for the detailed feedback Otco!

About the quiz, I wanted to make a cutscene with the explanations, but I dropped the idea and added to the main menu fearing the timeline.

I have no excuse for the audios, I should have taken more time looking for some better ones.

I guess it could have a bit more information about the game progression. I'll keep it in mind for the next time.

The zombies are there because I didn't find any kind of spectre asset. I planned on adding some sort of ghost, but didn't manage to find any with animations, so I went to mixamo to get these. About the scallings... I guess I skipped that accidentaly. Thanks for pointing it out.

Thanks for reporting the crash, I'll look into it if I decide to keep updating the project!

This game has a lot of potential! Good job Honig!

Yeah, I'm getting a lot of feedback on that. I'm grateful to everyone for pointing these things out.

I'll try playing it again later, thanks for updating me!

Nice

Thanks!

Good idea!

Your game is very well made! would be nice to get some feedback when hovering over the flasks at the start of the game, I wasn't being able to pick them up and didn't notice I forgot to read one email. The game is pretty good!

I think the ideal here would be to throw something at the scorpion to slow it down. It would be a nice mechanic I think. But it's a good game!

This game is pretty nice! If you had some extra time, I'd say it would be very nice if you added some creepy ambient sounds, the overall aesthetic of the game is pretty cool!

Sure thing!

The aesthetic of the game is good, but it would be nice to have a few more instructions. I got quite lost after the first dialogue not knowing what the buttons on the bottom left would do or what they are supposed to do.

Ah, another person sharing his first experience! This jam is the first I've programmed solo. I'll be checking your game! Here's mine if you want to try:

Thanks for the feedback! I planned on doing a cutscene with some backstory for the quiz, but since time was short I just added it to the main menu lol

Thanks mate! Your fighting game is lit as well. I'll try to find a friend to play it with me!

Incredible. One thing I wasn't expecting this jam was a fighting game. considering the short time it had it's impressive it works so well. Good job man!

It seems I get a lot of mixed opinions during a jam. Some didn't like the baby, some liked. I think it got pretty considering it was basically my first game jam programming solo. Thanks Austen, I'm going to check your game as well!

Great idea for a game! I am having a hard time with the UI though. If you manage to fix it I'll try finishing it.

here's mine!  I'm playing yours now!

Good atmosphere and design!

Oooh, your game is lit m8. You got some real talent!

Now this is a true horror game. Well done Kaos!

Nice ideas! If you end up growing the project I'd be happy to test it and give more feedback. I think your game is pretty good for something made in 4-5 days. Keep at it!

I loved everything about the game. The sounds, the story and aesthetics are really good. Some feedback:

The game seemed to lag a lot for me, I didn't understand why.

I had to reduce the DPI of my mouse to 600 to play it, the camera is way too sensitive.

I got stuck and wasn't being able to find the second key on the third stage, but I saw the video Crashin' Thrashin' Seranatis linked and managed to clear it! Good job overall!

Thanks!

I set up the game to work on 720p and added a fullscreen button on Itch (Bottom right of the game screen). What's your laptop resolution? I don't know if I'll keep updating this project, but I'll keep the problem in mind if I decide to fix it later. About the interrupting of sounds, I didn't manage to get some nice and short horror sound assets, so I got a few long ones and cut them. I knew it would sound weird but I thought it would be better than not having sound at all. Thanks for the feedback LiquidPixel!

It works just fine! I just think that the game is a little too slow overall, and you don't get enough ammo, so ideally you just avoid the zombies. I really liked how you used the lightning to show/hide objects on the game, it's very well made!

If you decide to update the game somehow I can playtest it and give some feedback! Good luck!

Yeah, I realized only after the game was finished that the quiz was a bad idea. I'll keep that in mind for the next one! Thanks for the feedback Umarth

Hello! There didn't seem to have much to see on your game, I played it, entered a second scene, saw a man running on the glass but didn't find anything else to do. Also, the fading effect was so slow I had the impression my game was stuck sometimes. The game ambience is quite nice for a pixel style and the background music is nice, but I couldn't do anything else.

If there's something else to see, tell me! I'll play again and test it out. Try my game as well:

From what I recall, I have reported more than 10 signals. I don't remember if there was any flickering happening with the lights. After a report was sent to server (I think) the screen faded to black and crashed. (I played the web version)

It's pretty well made! Though I never knew when or what triggered the puzzle to go on. Good job on this one.

You had quite the team for your game, it is really pretty good. Were you able to do  everything that was planned? I had to cut a lot of stuff from mine.

Very nice game! it is very simple, but it works fine!

Keep trying m8! I'm sure you'll get better at game development if you try your best!

(1 edit)

Thanks! I rated yours now

I laughed at the end. 10/10
