First of all, like I say everywhere, I'm not a games developer. I'm here to do QA, on behalf of your colleague, Ruby Makes Bad Games (tho her games are really fun, and not bad at all, tbqh).

First of all, I like the idea of a Minecraft-inspired puzzle game. The music's also lovely, and whomever composed it really captured C418's (the composer for Minecraft) musical vibe. Almost scarily so, if I'm honest. I'm sure there are loads of people out there who would just LOVE this kind of game. Sadly, I'm not much of a puzzle games player, and I got stuck in the second stage, because I couldn't figure out how to get the key. Make of that what you will, but I got a pretty good jist of how things work. Enough to write this analysis, at any rate.

Insofar as thoughts on what can be done, I'd consider three things, for sure: making the controller interface universally-accessible (I couldn't use my controller on the home menu). I'd also add a controls mapper, or, at the very least, information about the controls (Ruby's amazing at that; I'd happily recommend her for that job), so that players better know how to play the game. Thirdly, your game, sadly, got flagged as a virus by Windows Security, and I know there's a process you have to go through in order to get that taken care of. My final suggestion is that you go through that process, so Windows doesn't flag your game.

This looks like a really promising game, and I want you to know that I'm more than happy to test future builds, though I may have to ask Ruby for help on some of the stages.

Good luck!

I wouldn't exactly call that a great design choice, but of course, you're free to do as you wish, as a studio.

Sounds like you've got some good ideas! And I dunno about the double-move on one keytap. Maybe it's because I'm using  a super-fancy gaming keyboard (this thing was on sale, but still wasn't cheap).

I look forward to the finished product!

First off, not a game dev!

This game looks like a neat concept for anyone who enjoys high-pressure environments, which sadly isn't me, so I'll hafta keep things as objective as I can:

  • I couldn't figure out how to click buttons on the circuit breaker
  • I'd like to see more controls than WASD+Mouse, like maybe Arrow Keys+Mouse, and maybe controller support.

If ya like management sims, and high-pressure environments, this is a good game for you.

You're welcome, and thanks!

I do apologise, but I had trouble figuring that out. Maybe I'm just not cut out for this game. Sorry about my earlier comment...

I can't find any executable in the Windows copy of the game. How do I get this to play on Windows?

It's okay. I'm using Brave, which is based off of Chromium, Like Chrome and Edge are, but it's got some unique features that make it unable to work with some of the stuff that runs just fine on Chrome.

This is all good to know! Thanks for filling me in.

And you're quite welcome; anything for a friend! Ima try and get other people to rate your game, too; let's getcha a higher place on that rankings list this year! ✊️

First thing, not a game dev!

This is both a great game, and a hilarious concept; he may be a husband who likes model trains, but he's no "model husband." Had this recommended to me by https://itch.io/profile/ruby-makes-bad-games, and it did not disappoint! Can't think of anything more to say about this, outside of "Ima follow ya now."

First off, not a game dev, and I'm Ruby's friend (still expect an objective review; no nepotism from me)!

This is a really fun game, and the only problem I see is that there is some soft-locking in a couple of the easy stages I played (I play on easy mode; don't @ me!); all simple bugfixes from what I can see. Also, I got this error message upon closing the game:

It doesn't affect overall gameplay, though. Must just be an untied end in the code...? I dunno, because I'm not a coder. Either way, really fun, and novel concept! It just needs a little more polish. The name of your indie dev studio is a huge misnomer; you don't make "bad" games, you make "fun" games. You really need to give yourself some more credit, especially when you consider that you crunched on this.

First off, not a game dev!

Sadly, the mechanic to fire the laser does not seem to work at all for me (the button seems to do nothing, as well), soft-locking the game. Aside from this, it looks beautiful, and functions fine.

First off, not a dev!

This looks like it could be a fun runner, but there seems to be no way to jump outta the way of obstacles, and I seem to die randomly. Also, after hitting "retry" a couple times, the game had trouble spawning the character, and nearly dropped them through the environment at least once, before it fixed the character's positioning, so, good on ya for putting in a corrective measure, but the placing still needs work.

A fun little clone of games like Thomas Was Alone, without the narration, of course. It's fun, but when I got to the room with the "B" and "S" blocks, I couldn't figure out how to get the key. Outside of that, this looks good.

EDIT: Hahaha! Just saw in a GIF on this page how to get past it. I'll hafta remember that.

First off, not a game dev!

What a fun little concept, and perfectly executed, too! Outside of perhaps adding controller support, and cleaning up the UI a little bit, I'd call this a fantastic little game.

First off, not a game dev!

This is a cute little Tetris clone, although I'd say the controls are too sensitive (one full keystroke on my Corsair K100 RGB moves the blocks two spaces instead of one), "Credits" is mis-spelled in the menu as "Credis," and the "Exit" button does nothing. I'd also like to see the option to play with more than WASD. Outside of that, this looks lovely!

First off, not a game dev!

Okay, real cute, people! You left me with no real gameplay, outside of the visual novel mechanics, which were fantastic (loved the allopathy / medicine theme, as someone who has the field of medicine as one of their many special interests)! Outside of that, moving a little blob left and right is only fun for so long, especially when ya get locked into a black screen once you move past the art, with no way to move back to art.

QA-wise, I can say that the visual novel mechanics work flawlessly, and you've got yourself one creative project goin' on here, should you continue on that front, so long as you add in some interactivity beyond "press x to advance."

As for the rest, I look forward to the full game, once it gets released; I'll give a courtesy follow, so I can see the completed project, but I can't call this a completed game by any means, sorry, even with the flawless vn mechanics.

First of all, not a game dev!

This is the first game out of my queue that I had some serious fun with, and that I'm recommending to one of my partners, who loves this kinda game! Masterfully-executed, especially for coming in so far underneath the deadline! Love the spin on the shooter puzzle genre: having to shoot an obstacle a certain number of times before it reaches you keeps ya on your toes! Keep up the amazing work!

First off, not a game dev!

This has some serious potential as a Gameboy-style platformer! However, I was unable to clear the very first obstacle, which I consider a game-breaking bug. I'd consider shortening the hurdle by one of... Well, whatever those things you fall through are. Doing that would make it possible to progress.

First off, not a game dev.

I'm afraid I had no idea whatsoever what I was doing in this game, and the lack of instructions, and lack of access to more modes of play made that impossible. It looks like it has great potential, but I'm not really quite sure of what it is, or what I'm supposed to do. I think if you were to add some instructions, the "Enjoyable" score would go from one star to at least four.

First off: Not a game dev.

Secondly, it's a neat concept, and I had fun with what I played of it. Once I got a handle on the controls, it was quite enjoyable. Only two issues, from what I played:

  • If there's a way to exit the game, I didn't see it, so I had to use the Windows key, and close the program by right-clicking the taskbar icon.
  • You can get caught even if you so much as touch the fishing line.

Keep up the good work; you've got a nice little concept here!

Hi, Ruby. I'm sorry to reach out to you through itch.io, but I've tried to contact you several ways, and each one lead to a dead-end. I used to go by the name "SonicTheHedgehog-Real" on a website we both used to use. I'd love to get in contact with you somehow. If you have no interest, please feel free to ignore me. And to the moderators: I'm sorry for going off-topic. If you need to delete this, I understand.
