Wow, I got hooked on this game for a long time and was surprised by how much time had passed, hahaha
Great idea, awesome execution. The style, sprites, sounds, atmosphere - everything is just right. Definitely 5 stars across the board!
It would be cool if you could drag your monsters with the mouse outside of battle (or even in battle, though that would make winning easier)
At first, I didn't understand what to do, but then I figured out that the highlighted characters could be controlled (later, you added this to the game description—nice!)
Once I got the hang of it, I really enjoyed playing. There's only one level, but I truly liked the whole concept + the visual style and music turned out great. And a cool animation at the end! The only problem is that z-fighting is visible on all models
Also, the controls feel very smooth!
By the way, this game slightly reminds me of Children of Fafnir
This is probably the best game of the jam! Gorgeous art and style, great music and sound, but most importantly – a very entertaining and well-executed idea. I was genuinely sad when the levels ended; I would have played this much longer!
Thank you!
UPD: I forgot to write - I CAN'T BELIEVE THAT YOU DRAWN A WHOLE INTRODUCTORY COMIC, IT'S SO COOL!!!
I have mixed feelings about the game
On the one hand, I really liked how it feels – the graphics, the coherence, the atmosphere. The small storyline and the funny NPC dialogues. The music is also very cozy and fits well
But on the other hand, I didn’t quite understand what I was supposed to do. It seemed to me that the idea was to figure out the mimic either through NPC hints or by spotting some unique differences. A cool concept, it reminded me of https://ash2.itch.io/knock-harder
But it looks like, for now, the monster is just one specific object, and that’s it – it doesn’t stand out from the others, is always the same, and I didn’t notice any NPC dialogues pointing to it
But the idea and what’s already done are really cool!
Thanks for such feedback!
Yeah, I thought about marking elements that don’t have combinations (like alcohol) as final, but I didn’t have time to do it. That’s also why there are only 25 of them
Honestly, there’s a lot I’d like to add - like making the elements move on their own instead of only reacting to each other - but I barely managed to finish the menu by the deadline, haha
Glad you liked it anyway!
I love the atmosphere and coherence of this game! How did you manage to make this in just 2 days??
And yeah, thanks for the '/' that lets you get bonus soulbloods—I managed to build an overpowered setup with flameblust + sleek + regenerate + hungry + lightweight and wrecked everyone like kittens (though I did feel a bit like a kid using cheats in Counter Strike).
Awesome game, thanks!
Bro, awesome idea! But please mention that the highlighted objects can be controlled - I spent the first few minutes trying to figure out what to do and thought maybe I had to find the right combination or something.
But once I realized what was going on, it turned out to be a really cool idea! I love how you executed it and the atmosphere of the game.
Great job!
Quite a lot of things, for example, my friend and I worked as a team for the first time, but the most interesting thing for me specifically is that I completely modeled the characters for the first time. Usually I only deal with props and environments, but now I tried characters and it seems to work out well :)
