Game Description
A small puzzle game where you must get the rainwater to the shrine.

How does your game tie into the theme?
I am using both rain and shrine! Each level has a rain cloud with a rain collector. You must connect this to the shrine using the aqueducts.

A relaxing, calm-down game within the puzzle genre - I played a few levels and got really satisfied! :)

I'd suggest to add some calm background music and maybe the ability to skip or speed up the "level finish" sequence.

Developer

Thank you so much. I didn't have the time to create music, but I think it certainly needed some. Also struggled with what kind of music it should be. I wanted something calming.

I like the idea of a skip or speed up!

Thank you for playing. I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Great style and good puzzles! The difficulty curve was right on

Developer

Thank you! :)

What a nice relaxing game! The visual style is simple and gives a calming vibe, I liked those little bouncy animations the moving parts have.

I noticed that you can accidentally end the level sometimes, I was creating a path from its end point only to end it with one unfortunate rotation, which completed a shorter path. I think, letting the player release the water instead of it starting to flow on its own would be a good idea. There could be some visual indication if the water has a complete path (an icon or a changing model element perhaps) so the player would see it.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

I like the idea of an icon indicating you have a complete path. I added right click to allow rotating the opposite direction for cases where you are required to rotate a piece, but doing so would end the game early. An icon with a go button is a much cleaner solution!

Thank you for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed it.  ๐Ÿ˜€

Pretty good puzzle game :) I wasnt sure why there was a three stars rating until I read your note about some levels that don't recognize when they are finished - because most of the levels pretty much felt like they were designed to only be solvable using all tiles and did not finish before all tiles were used. Well done, anyways!

Developer(+1)

Yeah the game is procedurally generated. The majority of the time there is only one solution, but occasionally it can generate a puzzle where you can completed it without visiting all the tiles. For this reason I added the star system and a restart button if you want to retry and use all the tiles.

Thank you for playing! :)

Amazing, did not read the description and played a for quite a while wondering when it would end!

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

I read the description and then kept playing more, awesome work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! I'm glad  you enjoyed it enough to play more!! I probably should have put something in game to indicate that it generates levels forever.

This is so relaxing and comfy! I spent quite some time on it, solving these puzzles is so satisfying. It's like tidying a room, it's basically analyzing, eliminating, settings things on the right place, and you end up with a neat circuit. For procedurally generated puzzles, a lot had quite elegant design, with surprises and satisfying solutions! The clean aesthetic also really make the whole experience soothing. Well done!

Developer

Thank you so much! I was very happy with the procedural generation. I'm glad it generated some nice puzzles for you. ๐Ÿ˜

Oh, nice game!

Reminds me a little of an old train game for iPhone. What would have been a nice feature I think is if the player got to decide that it is go-time, and see if the path was complete or not. One thing, I had to clock how long it took for the water animation to finish, and it took more than 10s :D I think it could have been faster!

There was a little nasty clip in the fireworks audio I think, made me want to jump on to the next level ASAP! :)

It would have been very cool with some incremental difficulty, like some blocks that can't be rotated or T-junctions or something, added after a while. But after all, it was still very impressive for a jam. I like the art style a lot.

Great job with this one!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I am glad you enjoyed it. Sorry about the firework audio bug! HTML builds are notorious for audio issues. I made the water run faster for the 7x7 levels. I probably should have made it go faster in general; 10 seconds is too long.

I have some ideas for ways to increase the difficulty and making levels more interesting. I wanted to keep the scope small for this jam to not get burnt out though.

A nice, relaxing puzzle game! Good thing I read the description after a few levels or I would have never stopped! Interesting choice to use procedural generation. I feel like more difficulty progression with larger maps and varied mechanics would be cool, but I realize that may be beyond the game jam scope. I also like the animations with the jumping puzzle pieces. Nice work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Yeah, I purposefully kept the scope down this jam to try and take things a little easier. I might look into expanding the game in the future with more mechanics. :)

I love those cozy visuals! Great work on the way water flows too! Even though im not much of a puzzle player, I did enjoy playing a few levels. Good work!

EDIT: The fact that its procedually generated is so cool!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. The last puzzle game I made was too tough, so this time I wanted to make something more relaxing and easy. ๐Ÿ˜

Submitted(+1)

Yeah thanks a lot for that! I dont need super difficult puzzles. As long as the easy puzzles still make me feel smart, Im alright :D

Love the way you tie the theme into this game! Beautiful animations and visuals. Would really be perfect as a mobile game, especially considering the levels are procedurally generated (wow!).

That said, I didn't really feel like the generated levels were very interesting so it feels more like a time-waster, as much as I dislike that term. They're fine as an extra game mode, but a selection of hand-crafted levels, perhaps with some more unique mechanics, would really make this game more fun for me.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the kind words! Glad you liked my tie in with the theme!

I completely agree with you. I have some other ideas to make the game more interesting, like missing pieces you have to drag in, or paths being split to multiple destinations. I just ultimately wanted to keep myself from going super hard this jam so I kept the scope down. I may try to see if I can get it working on Android, and maybe I'll make more interesting, hand crafted levels. ๐Ÿ˜

A solid, relaxing puzzle game. I really like the presentation, especially the little bounce the aqueduct pieces do when you rotate them, that's a nice touch.

Developer

Thank you! I was pleased with the little rotation animation too. :)

Love the chill relax puzzle game, I was so in tranced in it and have no ideas how many levels I was playing, thinking when will I ever reach the ending but I never did. The game also reminds me of the pipes in Bioshock where I have to do the puzzles for the pipes, although different but I have the same feeling. Although this game is very relaxing, would love to see a challenge game to see how far I can go, maybe with a time limit before the water starts pouring. Overall, really enjoyed the game :D

Developer(+1)

I'm so glad you enjoyed it and it put you in a trance!! A time trial mode is a great idea! Thank you for the kind words. :)

Cool and polished Puzzle Game. I liked the rotating of parts a lot, felt pretty smooth!

Developer

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. :)

A meditative and not difficult puzzle with a cute visual style! Greate work!

Developer

Thank you! I want to make something relaxing this time. Glad it worked out!

Incredibly polished game, great job! I loved the sound effects of the level end, they were so satisfying! Also, great work with the 3D graphics!

May I ask you something? Are the levels generated or scripted? I cannot retrieve the information from the game's page, and I was curious about other people make their games :)

Developer(+1)

The levels are generated. For the 5x5 grid, I had written a brute force algorithm for finding a hamiltonian path (a path that visits each square once). Once I got to 7x7 the performance was no longer acceptable, so I found an algorithm called the biteback algorithm where you start with a completed path and then jumble it up. With that algorithm I could get some pretty large grids, but kept the game capped at 7x7. :)

Thanks for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the game. ๐Ÿ˜„

Submitted(+1)

A-ha, I knew it!

(Just kiddin', I had no idea :P)
The fact that every path passes through all the squares seemed something generative, but the levels were tricky enough to feel human-thought, so I was confused! But now it's clear, and I find your idea of computing a Hamiltonian path extremely intriguing - even if it may cause some computational difficulties, that however you overcome beautifully!

Thanks a lot for your answer, I loved to read this backstory! If it were for me, I'd present the game as "procedurally generated" in the first line: it's a fantastic plus! :D

Developer(+1)

Haha I'll add some information to the itch page. :) Thank you!

Submitted(+1)

It was quite fun :) . I love the art and the concept. Nice camera management too!

Nice chill game, can see this being something on the app store or something  its pretty polished as is

Developer

Thank you! I tried getting the itch.io mobile support working but had some issues with resolution and textures. I've never exported to Android before so it might be a fun project to try out. Think it could work on the app store if I can come up with some more variations on the gameplay.

Thank you for playing!

Excellent game! Reminds me of Infinity Loop game (android). A Good implementation of the mechanic in 3D with nice polish. Plus you managed to add both themes :D Great Work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!! Hadn't heard of Infinity Loop. It looks fun!

I am glad you enjoyed! :)

Very cozy and cute, I like it!
