Thanks a lot for reading it!
There is indeed a sequel planned, yes. I can't talk much about it though. I'm still working on the second part. I will release the second half of the game in the next big update!

Also yes sorry about the game lagging, it's me pushing renpy into it's limits, making it do something it's not really supposed to do. I will try to improve on that but it's a bit hard considering it really seems to be an engine problem mixed with some hard to change choices now that i'm that far into development ^^'

Thanks a lot! I'm really happy you enjoyed it.

Yeah it was unfortunately pretty rushed, I will try to finish it when I have the time though. My main focus right now is finishing Kestadian hope first.

I'm guessing the expending part was expend your horizons or open your mind to change?

Very nice entry, it's very cute, the artstyle looks coherent throughout, good use of filters to make the BG seem consistent. The sprites are very cute as is the story. I really don't have much to add to that. The story itself is very much rom-com by the books and slice of life school isn't my type of story but I enjoyed it nonetheless, it does it's job, especially for a gamejam project.

The presentation looks nice as I said, it's coherent and there is some CGs added with it too.

My only nitpicks would be the font use that is a bit too straining on my eyes, a bold font like that is tiring to look at after a while so I switched to renpy's default.

Good Job with that entry!

I got into it fairly quickly, It's well presented even though the UI is a little rough to me. It does its job but it make itself seen a bit too much to my liking.

The world building is interesting though i'm not a huge fan of the "video gamey" world feel it has. Relying too much on those clichés makes the world feel very generic, maybe that's on purpose(?). This aside though I was kept interested, Siofra was my favorite character, she's very funny through the whole story, she's a lovable asshole not as egoïst as she seems at first glance. Just seeing more of that character alone would be enough to make me want to continue reading the story if it continues. Also despite not being finished it still has a satisfying ending to it, doesn't leave on a huge cliffhanger.

Good job with your entry!

Spoilers down there be careful:
Very interesting, probably one of my favorite so far . It's too bad we stop before it really goes anywhere.

The theme implementation was either not there, or I didn't really catch it, maybe the wolf transformation and what it causes can be interpreted as the expand?

The presentation was really nice, It doesn't stay fixated too long, it has a lot of cg and transitions to vary what you have in front of you. I always appreciate more effort on the presentation side of things in VN's. Great use of the musics tracks too, it's well balanced overall.

Now the story, this is probably what I enjoyed the most, I really like the way it's written, nothing feels unnecessary, I like the overall tone and worldbuilding we have. It's too bad it cuts just when you feel the story finally starts. Sorry if I can't really tell more in detail why I like the writting, but it just feels nice to read, I can easily check out, especially during long internal monologue, but here I didn't and I was kept interested during the whole thing.

The creativity part ties back to the story for me. I'm a sucker for these kinds of universes, and I liked the way it was presented, with some snippet of info with get while still advancing through the story.

Anyway, good job on this entry! I hope you will continue it!

Has some spoiler in it be warned if you read :
So far it's the entry that made me laugh the most. I also discovered who was the culprit immediatly, probably because i'm way too strong and didn't just choose the least suspicious character on the grounds that it would be him.

A bit on the negative : The presentation is really jarring to me. most of the chosen bg makes little to no sense with the characters on screen and the character scale are all other the place. I can understand wanting to make characters appear differently, but that's not exactly how it works, using the scale too much makes one character hand almost as big as another character's head, which looks disturbing.
It would have been great to have at least some music management in there, I think it's an important part of any vn that should be adressed.

Other than that the writing and pacing was very enjoyable, I like the banter and the "no apologies" writting style, especially with the detective character. I liked it!

It's cute and fun with a bonus tied to other wacky's work that is pretty cool at the end. Just like your other works the art style of the sprites are really charming to me.

The presentation is cool, mostly classic renpy stuff and it throws away some illustration at you too, it's dynamic enough to keep being visually stimulating and we shall not forget the wavy arm.  The only real critique I could really tell about the story is that although there is a clear story structure sometimes the dialogues drag on a bit. I liked the small twist at the end too, as I feel it can be very relatable to a lot of people.

A really good use of the theme and some moments are really funny.  Sloth girl only and best girl.

It's an interesting concept to be sure. I like the premise of it the general story, though some parts would have been better if it followed the "show don't tell" mantra.

For exemple, although that would have increased the story lenght significantly, Queen as a character would have been more endearing had we seen Patrycja's story directly rather than queen telling us. It's something to tell us that "she was nice" but it usually has more impace to actually show us she was nice.

There is a lot of that, though sometimes maybe you can't help it for logistical reasons (like having to do more sprites) I don't think it's a good idea to use the "let me tell you my stroy and/or my situation" instead of showing it to us firsthand those facts.

That aside it was cute ^^

Ah I see someone got it! Yes it's an ace attorney reference.

Thanks! Don't hesitate to tell me what you thought of it once you play it!

Please note that this review wasn't made by a friend, like, I swear.

Feels like it's a version adapted to me. Almost perfect, now we just need the rest of the entire game. Easy enough.

There are bad endings along the road, but only one final ending.

Thanks Wacky! I'll do my best for the rest and I hope you'll appreciate it!

Thanks wacky!

Thanks! yeah it can be pretty rough aha. And yeah the toast king constantly trolling you each stage was  definitely some portal inspiration!

Thanks!

This comment is my jam.

Thanks a lot! Happy to learn you had fun ^^

Very funny take on the concept, short but fun!

The animation look really cool.

It took me a while to figure out how to grab something xD

This was really funny and fun to play, congrats!

Cute and very relaxing to play I really enjoyed it, congrats. I loved it.

I'm not sure about the choice of making the jam placement random. It doesn't really let you plan out a path with trial and error, which is the point I suppose. You need to adapt to your own path but sometime at the last stage the RNG just boned me. And managed to finish it because it spawned 3 times at almost the same place so I almost got them all immediatly xD

Other than that really fun! one of the best of the jam for sure.

The sound design is really funny.

Very nice and cool looking game!

The visuals are really neat!

2714 after a few tries. Very nice implementation of the theme! And it quite fun too.

Neat game, especially for the time it took you to make it by your description. Although I must be honest, I may have found something to do with a carrot :p (don't quote that out of context)
Don't forget to make the second one.

Peanut butter's revenge.

Thanks a lot! That's really nice of you.

to be fair I had no real problem discerning things that much. It's just that the colors in themselves are very aggressive. I'm pretty sure a good balance could be found between the saturation and the hue. Although like I said you adapt to it after a while so it's not really that much of a problem anyway, especially given the time we have in a game jam so short :p.

My game have very basic textures stretched out on most walls because we did not find the time to adjust anything, what you did is way smarter for a game jam in 3D

The visuals were a bit hard to look at at first but then I adapted to it and had no problems.
It's fun to play too, really hard though aha.

Overall one of the best games of the jam for me!  Congrats

Ahaha, thanks! happy you appreciated it.

Thanks!

Nice job on this one, I especially like the aesthetics!
