Fun little game. Seems like the reload controls took inspiration from Receiver.

Thank you so much! I'm continuing the project after judging is complete!

I need to communicate to the player better that they are completely safe inside the Iron Circle. It blocks all damage. I didn't have time to make a shader that causes the boss / ghosts to be masked out by the circle, so there isn't any indicator to the player that they are safe. I may add a glow or outline around the player to show their invulnerability status.

My current plans for the game involve adding a second character that is a swordman sworn to protect the player. This will allow the player to focus on defense while the swordsman does offense. Special abilities will combo with the other character. The goal would be to make the swordsman feel like an extension of the player.

Thank you! That's the furthest I've heard anyone get. I didn't have time to balance difficulty so I just.. made it get really hard. I'm able to get to the third loop if I try really hard and bank hearts but after that I can't collect enough to survive. I'm going to be releasing an update after the rating period is over, hopefully with more balance.

Great experience, I found myself crying.

I jumped when the chase sequence started. Managed to complete on the second playthrough and chose the right door where the game won the jam. I played again and got the ending where Brackey's himself comments on it losing. :(

There was an ad break that interrupted my first solve, so I played through again but that time I knew the solution.

I shot a rating your way!

Fun little game, difficult controls as the others have said.

Funny little game, here is mine!

Fun game! Very unhinged but not boring! Controls need tightening. I understand you ran out of time on the project, though, and for a week of work is looks great.

Fun game! Reminds me of Gish. Had trouble keeping my health throughout the game so I didn't make it far. Beat one of the bosses once.

The game left me wanting more, so that's a really good sign. I didn't find any bugs or have any issues with my playthough. I loved the art and audio.

Fun game, the player controller felt a little floaty, adding jump cuts may help. If the player releases the space bar, you can set the vertical velocity to 0 and fell the player fall. This enables the player to choose when to fall down after jumping and makes the movement feel more responsive.

Completed the game. The aim was very sensitive but playable. The theme of the first room was cool.

On web the scenes would freeze when loading, this may be able to be avoided by preloading the scenes before switching to them. This is a feature in Godot that you can use by making the scene an onready variable by clicking and dragging the scene into code and holding CTRL before dropping it.

Had fun playing this. Took me a few tries but I completed it. I liked the part with the pliers.

I thought the dude with 7°C temp was infected and killed him. :( Won on the second playthrough. Enjoyed the game, the graphics, the story. The text was very hard to read in time, I think it would be good to include a button or keypress to continue. I also think that the x-ray could have been controlled with WASD or arrow keys.

Great game!

Had a lot of fun playing, I did beat the boss but didn't kill all the tires. :(

No bugs, wasn't able to catch the door! My high score was around 200 or so.

Neat game idea, a little difficult to understand when the monster was going to run after me. I ended up using a few bugs with the pathfinding to progress, like getting it stuck on corners.

Experienced a bug on web build that would repeatedly flash the fade out effect when going through doors, this can be an issue with individuals with epilepsy. I wanted to let you know, I played through a few levels but was not able to complete it as I was streaming the gameplay. I did not leave a rating due to me not finishing the game but wanted to let you know about the issue.

I did get lost through the doors. I think I won when I saw the title again? Neat game concept that was hindered by a lack of landmarks and bugs with collisions. It was difficult to open and go through the doors that I wanted to.

Cool concept, a bit difficult to grasp at first. I won 2/3 times.

Great audio, fun story. It did captivate me. The ending on web is a bit anti-climatic because on web the application doesn't close like on Windows. The flashlight seemed to have no effect, I was hoping it would reveal hidden information or other paths in the game but maybe I missed them. I will post a highlight of playing it on stream after I finish streaming today!

Thank you so much!

Sound didn't make it in for the game jam; I'll possibly adding sound in the future after judging is complete. This is a project that I'm going to expand on.

I'm sure it will. Looking forward to it, maybe there will be more coincidences!

Interesting game, here are the characters/paths I found:

  • Mailman
  • 3D guy
  • Line-art girl
  • Pizza guy
  • Mirror
  • Guy with a gun
  • Mirror that steals your identity
    • Cool animation of being thrown out of the house and it taking your place

  • Rat
  • Hammer who wanted tape

Reminds me of when I lived in an apartment complex and my upstairs neighbor was constantly stomping around at 2-3AM. One night I banged on the ceiling and he went down at 3AM to yell at me and say he wasn't being loud. For some reason I feel like he or others thought I was someone I wasn't. Funny with letting the rat have his cheddar. Do you think he was really a rat or is there more depth to that character?

I've made edits to the project page without changing the game uploaded, I hope that is okay.

Changes made:

  • "Show Fullscreen Button" enabled
  • Removed old screenshots / outdated info
  • Added new screenshots
  • Improved page design

Solid prototype!

We spoke on a call a bit!

I didn't find any bugs.

For me the things that made the game confusing were mostly lack of feedback when making the order and not being able to fix an order when I noticed I made it wrong.

I really liked the voiceover for the phone. I liked that all the ingredients had their own graphics. I like the idea of being docked money for hitting things in the environment.

Had a great time working on this with you!
