Fun little game. Seems like the reload controls took inspiration from Receiver.

Thank you so much! I'm continuing the project after judging is complete!
I need to communicate to the player better that they are completely safe inside the Iron Circle. It blocks all damage. I didn't have time to make a shader that causes the boss / ghosts to be masked out by the circle, so there isn't any indicator to the player that they are safe. I may add a glow or outline around the player to show their invulnerability status.
My current plans for the game involve adding a second character that is a swordman sworn to protect the player. This will allow the player to focus on defense while the swordsman does offense. Special abilities will combo with the other character. The goal would be to make the swordsman feel like an extension of the player.
Thank you! That's the furthest I've heard anyone get. I didn't have time to balance difficulty so I just.. made it get really hard. I'm able to get to the third loop if I try really hard and bank hearts but after that I can't collect enough to survive. I'm going to be releasing an update after the rating period is over, hopefully with more balance.
Here's the gameplay: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2068840503
There was an ad break that interrupted my first solve, so I played through again but that time I knew the solution.

Funny little game, here is mine!
Completed the game. The aim was very sensitive but playable. The theme of the first room was cool.
On web the scenes would freeze when loading, this may be able to be avoided by preloading the scenes before switching to them. This is a feature in Godot that you can use by making the scene an onready variable by clicking and dragging the scene into code and holding CTRL before dropping it.
I thought the dude with 7°C temp was infected and killed him. :( Won on the second playthrough. Enjoyed the game, the graphics, the story. The text was very hard to read in time, I think it would be good to include a button or keypress to continue. I also think that the x-ray could have been controlled with WASD or arrow keys.
Great game!
Experienced a bug on web build that would repeatedly flash the fade out effect when going through doors, this can be an issue with individuals with epilepsy. I wanted to let you know, I played through a few levels but was not able to complete it as I was streaming the gameplay. I did not leave a rating due to me not finishing the game but wanted to let you know about the issue.
Great audio, fun story. It did captivate me. The ending on web is a bit anti-climatic because on web the application doesn't close like on Windows. The flashlight seemed to have no effect, I was hoping it would reveal hidden information or other paths in the game but maybe I missed them. I will post a highlight of playing it on stream after I finish streaming today!
Interesting game, here are the characters/paths I found:
- Mailman
- 3D guy
- Line-art girl
- Pizza guy
- Mirror
- Guy with a gun
- Mirror that steals your identity
- Cool animation of being thrown out of the house and it taking your place
- Rat
- Hammer who wanted tape
Reminds me of when I lived in an apartment complex and my upstairs neighbor was constantly stomping around at 2-3AM. One night I banged on the ceiling and he went down at 3AM to yell at me and say he wasn't being loud. For some reason I feel like he or others thought I was someone I wasn't. Funny with letting the rat have his cheddar. Do you think he was really a rat or is there more depth to that character?
Solid prototype!
We spoke on a call a bit!
I didn't find any bugs.
I really liked the voiceover for the phone. I liked that all the ingredients had their own graphics. I like the idea of being docked money for hitting things in the environment.
