This was really fun, and the theme made me laugh. Great job on the sound, music, and overall concept!

I can see where you were going with this. It's impressive you created what you did in the amount of time given - making a card game in general is hard. The art is great, and I like your take on the theme. I saw that on your main game page there is a much clearer break down of the mechanics. Incorporating this into the game itself would be helpful - but again, I realize we only had 10 days and it's hard to get this kind of stuff all figured out. I'd love to see how this builds out if you continue working on it.
Awesome, I love the stuff on your IG! I'll follow you on my game account, https://www.instagram.com/theuniversal_game/ . It's a pretty new account, I just barely started making posts for progress.
Thank you for playing it twice, I really appreciate you spending the time to do so! The movement really was for aesthetic reasons and I had zero time left to modify it by the end hahah. Going forward I'm definitely going to implement a faster moving mechanic. It's interesting you ran into that bug the first time, as I haven't encountered it, but I'm glad you were able to finish it in the end. Thanks again!
Yeah I see what you were aiming for! I actually did find the gates to the yards after opening the main gate - I felt it took a bit long to walk around to that area when I needed to - this is an area where I got a LOT of feedback about in my own game: the speed of player movement relative to where you need to travel in the level. I can see why you would not implement a jump-over-the-fence mechanic just based on what you goal was though. I would say a welcome modification would be to increase the run speed, or some other type of mechanic that allows the player to move to those areas in a quicker manner. Again great job on your entry!
Congratulations on your entry! I really liked the intro, it was impressively polished. The whole main menu UI was great!
I think the game could benefit from having a bit more contrast between the player and the world, as the player is a darker color and tends to blend in with the surroundings, at least on my screen. I think reducing the size and brightness of the UI during play would be a good place to start. Also, having hotkeys for abilities would be super nice, at least for me.
Overall, great job and congrats on your submission! I can see a lot of potential for the gameplay here.
Good job on your spin on Pac-Man! The sound effects felt fitting and satisfying, and I liked the art! I think the movement could benefit from a grid system, though maybe that's not what you're aiming for. I also ran into a bug where the enemies would get stuck together in a corner. I know bugs are hard to deal with in a short time span like this. Overall, great submission!
Congratulations on your first game! With that said, it's really impressive you were able to do this in the 10 days we were limited to. I liked the environment and character controls a great start! I would recommend tuning the jumping mechanics to make them feel more grounded when you land - maybe I'm just bad at platformers lol, but it was hard for me to get to that second pole! After that though I got it down! Again, great job!
Good job on your submission! I can tell you had quite a few mechanics to implement during the short span of a game jam. One suggestion I would have is to allow the player to shoot a projectile while running, even if that means it stops the player - at first I wasn't sure why I wasn't able to shoot because I was running while pressing E lol! Again, good work on this.
PS: I really liked the character model!
Thank you, and I'm glad you enjoyed exploring the world! I actually spent a little too much time on the main menu but meh, I thought it was worth it hahah. Thanks for letting me know about the performance too - I was actually wondering about this because I have easily 5 real-time lights going at a time in a few spots. I'll look into performance now that I have a chance to actually do some testing lol. Thanks again for taking your time to play through my game!
Thanks for making it through, and I hear ya! I wanted to put in an orb removal system, but I just ran out of time. Movement is something I thought a lot about refining even before I submitted too - this is something that's come up with a lot of people and I totally agree. This will likely be the next step I take before I even build out any more of the world or puzzles. Thank your for the kind words, your time, and your suggestions!
Thanks so much for the playthrough! I appreciate the fact that you noted the implicit tutorial, as that's really what I was going for. I'd love to keep this theme of teaching the player how to do something by showing instead of writing text or having a tutorial. I'm glad you enjoyed it and much thanks again for spending your time on it!
