This is super cute! Love the art style and animations, as well as the narrative element :) Really enjoyable, great job!

Thank you so much, I've passed your kind comments on to our talented artist and programmer :) Funnily enough, none of us have played WarioWare, so it's interesting that it's been mentioned a few times now! :D We'll definitely have to check it out and look for the similarities!
We'll be releasing an update once they're enabled again, so do check back if you're interested in playing a more polished version :) There were some levels we had to cut due to time, too. If we ever revisit those in future, we'll be sure to post a devlog update! Thanks so much for your feedback :)
Love 'Press E to meow'! :D The locked resolution made it a little difficult to see the whole of the playable area for me, maybe allowing the option for players to fullscreen from your project dashboard could help if others have similar issues? Really great job though, and congrats on participating in your first game jam! :)
Love the title! My highest score was 40 :D Definitely addictive, as I kept on trying! I think some added audio would give this game a big boost :) Also, for me, the enemies continued to speed up after each unsuccessful attempt, when resetting to try again. It would be good if they only sped up per round, after catching each laser dot! Overall though, great work :)
Thank you so much! This was my first time working as the sole game designer (I'm usually writing / narrative focussed) and it was our wonderful artist's very first game jam ever! So your comments mean a lot :)
(The toilet paper level is my personal favourite, just because it's inspired by real events :D)
Thank you so much! This is lovely feedback, as I'm glad our intended vision came across with the help of the materials linked in the description :)
It is absolutely our intention to update as soon as we can, to include all final assets and fix any bugs - even if the current build arguably just adds to the chaos :D
DISCLAIMER: CURRENT BUILD
Hello! The current playable build submitted for Black Cat Jam has a few known bugs and missing final assets; most notably, the Intro and Outro animatics that run either side of the playable levels. For now, these are linked at the top of the game page for you to enjoy, as well as a link to a game sequence doc to give an idea of how the final build should play out.
Thanks for your understanding! As soon as uploads are enabled again, the updated build will be added :)
Really enjoyed this! Great use of the limitation, and as for the concept - can't really go wrong playing as a cat in a tugboat with a littering wizard, can you :D Loved the ending, too! Only slight frustration, as others have mentioned, are the L & R controls - but overall, great game and really enjoyed playing! :)
Thank you for playing and for such lovely comments! I shall pass them on to the rest of the team :) I'm glad you loved the baby hermits as much as we do!
The cooldowns are in place to encourage players to interact with the rest of the board, and move between the Coral and the Treasure Chest. Taking inspiration from classic merge game mechanics, including board management and associated degrees of challenge, we wanted to strike a balance between that and maintaining an overall relaxing / cosy experience (to provide some challenge, but nothing too difficult). I do understand where you're coming from - the spawn rates and cooldown times are what we settled on, in the given timeframe! :D
Hey! Thanks so much for playing :) I'm sorry you had trouble using the ink! Were you able to pick it up and move it around okay? Just want to check that everything was working the way it should do there!
If it's to do with how to actually use it in the game, ink can be dropped onto a Custom Shell to create a Decorated Custom Shell. You would first need to merge a set of three Small Shells into a Custom Shell (same as the previous two levels) before you can apply the ink to it. It can't be applied to any other type of shell, or unmerged Small Shells. I hope this helps - do let me know if you have any more issues or questions! :)
