Hot Heat Reset: Chapter 1 is the first chapter of the game, Hot Heat Reset, which is a fast-paced maze action puzzle game where you play as an unknown speedster hiding under a skull who is in pursuit to recover his stolen lands where an explosives factory is under operation.

I have released the complete Chapter 1 (which is about 20% of the full game) and it is available for FREE!

In case you encounter any bugs or have any suggestions reach out to me in the comments on the game page.

Thanks!

I feel the same :P Will be fixing that in the post jam version.

Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it :D

Yes! I made someone hate a number :P

Thanks for playing :D

Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it :D

Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it :D

I will be adding some popping texts in the post jam version which would help the players to memorize the functions faster. Thanks for the feedback :)

Thanks for playing :D

Working on the RNG and adding some audio were on my todo list but I ran out of time :(

As for the game crashing, I'll try to figure it out and will be releasing a post jam version with almost everything sorted out :)

Thanks for playing! Glad you liked it :D

I ran out of time for the audio. But yeah, I am working on some audio and some more juicy effects for the post jam version.

Thanks for playing :D

I ran out of time for music / sound effects. But yeah, I am working on some music / sound effects and some more juicy effects for the post jam version.

Thanks for playing :D

Thanks a lot! I was catching your stream and really liked your gameplay. Just a few more minutes and you would've completed the game :P

Thanks for all the feedback! Cheers!

Thanks for playing :D

Yeah, I'll try to implement that in the post jam version.

Thanks for playing :D

Looks like your machine's refresh rate is much higher than 60 FPS and I had stupidly set everything (movement speed, etc.) to depend upon the FPS as I thought HTML Canvas locks at 60 FPS. My bad (if that's the case).

Saw the VOD. The game is unplayable as it looks like your machine's refresh rate is much higher than 60 FPS and I had stupidly set everything to depend upon the FPS as I thought HTML Canvas locks at 60 FPS...

That's why the game seemed extremely hard :(

I was watching your stream yesterday and was waiting for my game's turn and today I missed it :P

Good thing that you have VOD enabled on your channel. Thanks :D

Looks like it. MDN reads,

"The number of callbacks is usually 60 times per second, but will generally match the display refresh rate in most web browsers as per W3C recommendation."

Now I get it. I developed the game without any engine and my game depends on the FPS rather than depending upon the time delta. I was wrong in my assumption that HTML Canvas locks the FPS at 60 :(

Seems weird. But, this might be due to the screen resolution. Not sure.

What was your browser and screen resolution?

I'll maybe fix that in the post jam version :)

I guess this was the first endless game that I have played in this jam until now. Got addicted for a while! Solid game :D

Cool lighting you've got there! Looks amazing!

Great Concept! I got addicted to it for a few minutes :D

The movement of the dice could have been smoother and a little faster.

Anyways, a great entry for the jam! Cheers!

Great Art!

Nice concept to add dice face numbers to the score. Also, the enemies didn't spawn every 6 seconds. It looked like they were spawning every 12-15 seconds.

Anyways, a very enjoyable game! Cheers!

So addictive that I ended up completing all the levels! The last few levels could have been a little more difficult. Also, a button to reset the current level would have been convenient, as you have to complete the whole level and then hit "Retry" to start over.

Anyways, a solid entry for the jam! Cheers!

Great Concept! Played it for a little longer than other games.

In my opinion,  one thing that could be improved is the rolling speed of the dice. You feel stuck in an area when multiple goblins surround you.

Anyways, a good game for the theme! Cheers!

Very Juicy!

Path puzzles are one of my favorites and this one is very nicely done. It could've been better if the functions of the different blocks were stated right away.

Anyways, good game! Cheers!

I was hooked for a while. Nice fusion of some of the old block games.

Also, I'm a fan of simple minimalistic art. Cheers!

Thanks admin leafo. You are a legend!

I uploaded a zip file of the game which I made for the GMTK Gam Jam 2022.

The zip file contains: index.html, assets/

In the dashboard, I can see that the zip file is successfully uploaded:

But on the public page, the game is stuck on "Loading game for the first time..."

Here is the game page link: https://n3r4zzurr0.itch.io/this-is-what-it-takes-to-roll-the-6

Hey, thanks for playing! Glad you liked the graphics :D

An indicator for the projectiles and fixing the slidy movement were both in my to-do list but sadly time ran out :( I'll fix these things and a few more and will release a post jam version soon. Might add some sound too :P

I'm glad you liked the visuals :D

I'm already working on a post jam version where I'll complete all the remaining parts of the game including fine-tuning the player's movement and adding some sounds (while preserving the title of the game :P)

I'm glad that you liked it :D

Also, that pause is not actually a pause. As soon as you press the LMB, time is slowed down so that you can aim better. As soon as you release the LMB, time gets back to normal. I should have explained it in game. It's a shame that I couldn't as I ran out  of time :(

I'll also prevent the spam clicking bonus from happening in the post jam version :P

That little lag is not lag. As soon as you press the LMB, time is slowed down so that you can aim better. As soon as you release the LMB, time gets back to normal. I should have explained this in game. Time was running out and somehow I forgot that and many other to-dos, for example, sound, etc. :P

I like red and I like this game. The feel of the game is sooo good! Awesome work!

Awesome art and addictive gameplay!

Very original!

Hey, I was about to do so but sadly I ran out of time :(

Fun game to play! I wanted to score those goals just for that awesome goal effect :P

Might be one of the funniest games of this jam! xD

Addictive! I guess I haven't played any other game more than this one in this jam. Also, it would have been better to be able to preserve the followers even if the first most follower in the chain gets killed. Awesome game anyways :D

Very original and addictive! With some more polish, this could be a hit hyper casual game!
