I had a lot of fun with this, it’s a cool mechanic that’s well presented :D

I think it wouldn’t hurt to give the player some health, and have the linked enemies die off one at a time (rather than all at one); at the moment I do think it’s a little unforgiving- but maybe all that would make it too easy- what do I know? :D

Great idea with the lasso! This is suprisingly actually the first game of this game jam, that I played with a lasso. I never really needed/understand dashing, but I had very much fun playing this game. Also your artwork looks great.

Good game!

Interesting game idea. I could see this being a twin stick shooter controls.

Well polished and really fun. The controls and mechanics feel good and are very clear. The enemies feel very different from one another. Really like the turtles lol. One bug I noticed is that you can get stuck against a wall behind a turtle sometimes. I wish I had some way to help the followers dodge out of the way of projectiles, but to be honest, the balance/timing of getting and losing followers feels really good, so maybe it is good as-is.

Awesome work! I would love to play more of this in the future.

Great tutorial and little indications that communicate to the player when you've successfully hit an enemy, etc. Had a lot of fun with this one, great job!

Such a cute little froggy :D And the music was also pretty nice :)

and very interesting interpretation of the theme :D

Sweet little game! I never thought I would ever play as a frog that needs to lasso ennemies with its tongue but why not!

The graphics are simple but cute and funny, the music fits the game quite nicely.

There seem to be a problem when you lasso the medic guy, he keeps moving but your tongue doesn’t follow him, but stll damages. Also I didn’t noticed it was a medic at first and he healed all his teammates :(

I had a fun time, good job on submitting a game!

I love it! Very very cute! I love games with non-human characters! This is so cute and fun and really fits the theme!

I really like the concept here. I have seen it done before, but this game does it well. The movement system works well with capturing enemies, and it's a fun game. It was a little hard to get used to (now I know how people that play my game feel) but it was fun once you get used to it.

Really nice game, the aesthetics are cute and fit the sound effects and music choice really well,. ~ Do check mine and give your valueable feedback:D

Great use of the theme to play to the strengths of snake-based gameplay! Having the tongue always available to "recruit" more followers supports having a really fragile tail (I know I lost mine a lot), which helps keep early success from snowballing into overwhelming power. I particularly loved how short the tongue is: it always felt just a bit too short, which created a tension between using it for extra DPS/pickup a new "recruit", or playing it slower and safer.

Cute little game, gave me Yoshis Island feeling^^ The follower mechanic is great, but the tongue control feels a little tricky

It took me a while to figure out how to get buddies, but overall a challenging, fun little game!

Fun game! The follower system works really well! I did get stuck on a wall when having a Tommygun Turtle as my first follower.... but great work overall!

I know you probably wanted a bit more time to polish but the mechanic in this is actually quite fun and interesting. Catching and converting enemies is something that could really be expanded on in interesting ways!

I really liked it, I think you could finish the game after the jam.

Developer

We're planning to! Bit bummed we didn't get it finished. Thanks a bunch for your comment!

Addictive! I guess I haven't played any other game more than this one in this jam. Also, it would have been better to be able to preserve the followers even if the first most follower in the chain gets killed. Awesome game anyways :D
