//(^_^) - aye aye, captain! I shall do my best to finish it soon!

The graphics are oh so very nice, and the gameplay gives me nostalgia. Makes me wish I had a cartridge so I would be able to boot it on my GB!  Will instead play it on my 3ds. Good job!

It will be, I'm still working on it, if you want to look when it is published! Either this weekend or the beginning of next week ^^

Lovely! As others have written, the lightning makes it so atmospheric, the dithering shadows. Splendid work.

Very many thanks, as it is all I have to show in this jam. Yes! I will be uploading it as soon as I finish it, As I don't have to compete with the deadline, my brain can access my executive functions again, and I hope it will be finished this week. It's not going to be a huge thing, just a little bigger than I first anticipated.  Thank you again for asking! I'm going to play your entry now!

Thank you very much, I have to admit the art is one of the reasons I could not quite finish it in time.  I just wanted it to look as pretty as it could get! ^-^;

Thank you, and yes! I got so caught up in everything else that my progression got stunted. But, I will upload it as soon as it is ready, I think this weekend. I shall comment again in this thread, so that you may play, kind itchierian ^^

Lovely! Thank you for playing, and all of your criticisms, they will indeed go into consideration when designing my future projects.

Also for the game recs! I have heard of both YN and Omori, but not actually played either ( 🥶🎉).

Hope you have a marvelous day! 🍓

Such a marvelous little game! I don't think I need to say anything about the missing music, etc, instead I will focus on the things I loved! The theme, a very nice take on it, to turn it into a fantasy story like this. I like how it felt like an OG Zelda without too much explanation. You get the exposition in the first screen, and then off you go to fight the dragon and their minions!

The graphics were my favorite, it feels like a lot time was put into this, all of the details are perfectly puzzled together.

One tiny thing: It would have been nice if your hits on the enemies made them burn for a while, so that you could see a bit clearer. Not too much, of course.

Well done!

The music in this game is really nice! And the game is spooky! I would have liked it if the monster would have been bound to the floor, or climbed the walls, like a giant spider, but as it reminded me of Jack Skelington, I approve!

The only thing that bothered me was the flashlight, it feels like it could have benefitted from illuminating more than the objects, i.e. the walls. It wouldn't have to mean the walls couldn't be black, but maybe you could see like white stripes from tile-outlines? I don't know.

Very well done!

Now all hail the shotgun!! Fast paced, absolute bop for music, and a shotgun to tackle your enemies. What more does one really need?

The only thing I would've wished could be more vast levels, some heavenly or gehennaish dungeon to explore. But not saying that this isn't enough, it very much is!

Loved the atmosphere, it was like a strange sanctified Postal, where, of course, you are blessed with the insight that synthesizing all light and dark is the only way to progress the world - into mutatious paradise.

I liked this game! The graphics were very cute and the game mechanics well executed. I wasn't the biggest fan of the opening voice over, and would've preferred just subtitles or just an explanation in the animation itself that the player could have interpreted. This is of course just subjective!

The levels are straight forward, with an exciting labyrinthine aspect you explore with the light. But they are also graphically minimalistic, which is a bit of a contrast with the character and objects themselves. Maybe I missed some kind of tile pattern, like bricks, or something else for the floor. My feeling is that this is something that would've absolutely been adressed if there had been more time!

Very nice work! Looking forward to more exploring!

Loved it! From the introduction it has the extremely delicious taste of an addictive cake. The puzzles are fun and the later levels that required me to restart, or just, you know, plain dying, were annoying in that kind of Super Mario Land-esque way where on little tap of the key meant you went flying into the abyss.

The graphics are wonderful aswell, very well in line with the jam, and I like that the game doesn't use shading, it makes the pieces pop really well, and while it could've made them just boring geometric shapes, it feels cozy.

Gameplay wise it didn't get tedious either, which is a feat in itself, since the mechanics are very child friendly. Opposite to what I just read someone say, I really feel that it would not have benefitted the game having to many different key bindings. Or even one more! Sometimes the physics caught me off guard, maybe they felt a little, how to put it... Too real? I think it would have been nice if the stars, or some of them, instead of tumbling down would've had a teeny tiny bit of float in them.

The only thing that didn't quite fit my tastes was the music, I would've preferred something more bit-tuney, and maybe a little more variation between the making of the constellations.

Summing it up: would love to have has an an endless starcatching game for my mobile!

I am so glad you liked it,  now Jack can rest in peace, aswell as me.

Greetings to you aswell,

I'm fan-blushing,

N

Thank you so much for your comments, amd thoughts 🪷

I will make sure to make future jamprojects with web versions, it was unfortunetaly something the engine i used (PixelgameMaker MV) did not support.

But, these  comments have really made me encouraged to do more! So I will try not to dwell to much haha 😊

Will also be playing through submissions, hopefully tomorrow, and leaving some comments. It will be swell!

Thank you for playing! I do agree with of your points. I was considering making a run state for Jack, because he moved so slowly it felt a bit cruel, but then felt like it was a part of the 1bit restricted experience. Oor, he is ill!

There will be some changes to the expanded 2day universe game adressing these points.

^.   .^

I bought a bunch of your fonts in a sale of some sorts some time ago, and I love love love each and everyone! They are in fact almost all I use now when I make games, and most recent is this thing for 1-bit Jam

Keep up your work, your fonts are d i v i n e

Will also play Starcatcher tomorrow!

So many thanks, I blush! It was almost ten twelve (more) hours per day put into making this for this excellent jam, so -  I will take this advice into my future jam games/just games!

I did think the engine was able to build into html5, but about two days into developing noticed there was no build option for this. Next time, I will make something that will be, oh, so web browser friendly,

Will play and rate together with a cereal bowl of other submissions tomorrow!

Here is my 1-bit cyberpunk dream:

Will rate and feedback something on your game tomorrow!

And here is my little friend:

Amazing, will play and rate tomorrow!

And here is my tiny game:

Oooh, nice! I'll play it for breakfast tomorrow!

And here is mine:

Hello all citizens of 1-bitVille, I've noticed that with so many submissions (and many fierce ones at that) that many games go completely unrated. Understandably it's impossible to play all entries, but what if for future jams there could be like an official recommendation to at least try out ten games and rate them?

Is that outrageous?

I just think it could be, I don't know,  injecting a fairer chance for everyone. Maybe I'm sentimental.

Anyway, to all, well done and happy rating!

Oooh, nice! I do feel like all the living organisms in this particular world would be a little... ill-ish. Appended to lore! But if it impacts negatively on the  game play experience I should be a big girl and adress it accordingly.

And I shall force myself into  more gamejams to motivate myself into bringing more games into the world.

And also looking forward to more Grim Gauntlet Adventure Time!

Well of course! Love the theme, love the idea for this jam! Going to be swell playing through these submissions. Ty for making this space.

Lovely! Thank you for playing!

Critique duly noted, and I agree. I had such a hard time deciding wether or not to make a run command because it felt almost cruel to have people limper around like this. But! Then I thought, in my pretensions, that maybe it feels more in touch with the format? Janky 1bit movement that is tilebased.

Now, I think I will put some more oomph to Jacks step when the jam period is over.

Also, thank you thank you for the encouragement!

Graphics on point, I would love to see this limited 1-bit style continued, but! I also would like colors even more! There's an atmosphere that encourages exploration, and I was frustrated when I couldn't see more of the ruins (if they are in fact ruins?). Looking forward to more on this, because I can feel the lore just lurking around!

I am, oh, so happy to hear that!

Loved it. Loved it loved it ugly cried it! 10 out of 10!

Awesome and sauce!

Thank you! Very happy that you like it, I feel fairly satisfied with the result although the one I'm currently working on will be, oh, so much better! And, you will even be able to save! ^u^/~!

It's so funny that you'd say that, because I actually removed the save feature because, in my little mind, the game is supposed to be played in one breath, and then you can play it again! On the other hand, it has three endings, and I was thinking about adding a sort of gallery, where you get an image for every ending you reach.
